Remember the "shaman" of January 6th? Sadly, we all do. Most of us in the west have a very distorted and inaccurate idea of the origins of shamanism and what even an actual shaman is.  Luckily, we have David Shi, initiated Shaman and author of Spirit Voices: The Mysteries and Magic of North Asian Shamanism, with us on this episode to break down the facts! In this episode, Aly sits down to chat with High Priestess of the Correlian Tradition, Jeanine DeOya. Jeanine has been a practicing Wiccan for decades and offers a unique perspective on aligning with this tradition. Aly and Jeanine discuss how and why Wicca appeals to them as African Americans despite Wicca's European origins and offer insights on learning more about this important neo-pagan path.
