Description

Education researcher and advocate Lynn Davenport discusses the realities of ed-tech, data mining, public-private partnerships, and lack of transparency in the educational departments and agencies charged with creating policies and performance standards in the Texas State Board of Education and local ISD's. Lynn exposes fraud and misconceptions that keep parents out of the loop and unable to protect their children, and gives actionable insight to reverse these scenarios.

This is the second time Alison McDowell has been a guest on Social Impact Podcast. Alison is an expert researcher with a blog called Wrench In The Gears. The last time she was on the show we talked about Education and the Biosecurity State in 2021. She and I began our advocacy in public education by exposing the privatization agenda and the push for experimental technologies. School choice is a major platform being pushed in the 88th Texas Legislature. The quest to shift public dollars into private hands through vouchers and school choice dollars following the child has been in the works for decades. Alison says there are a lot of discussions around school choice, what the future of school looks like, and tracking children in terms of behavior by shifting to competency or mastery-based learning with data privacy implications. She believes the conversation that is missing is the future economy and the push towards recreating children as “digital citizens” as part of a global workforce mediated by artificial intelligence (AI) based on all the little data points that are being collected on our kids in the classroom on what they know, how they think and what kind of “team” members they are. She calls it the Collective Intelligence Experiment. All of this intelligence whether cognitive or emotional is being hoovered up to create a simulation of us – a digital twin – and then to make predictions about us as future citizens, workers, and human capital. Global investors are making bets on human capital extracted from our children. The future of work is a remote, task rabbit economy of gig work collecting competency badges with metadata attached. The instability relies on the captive market of public school children to feed this economy. Those pushing school choice are no different than the progressive nonprofits pushing out-of-seat-time learning in urban settings. Polarization of both sides feeds the voucher agenda, tokenized economy and future of work.Brought to you by:https://MoveFreelyAmerica.orghttps://OBBMNetworkPodcasts.comhttps://OBBMNetworkBrands.comJunkluggers of Grapevine, Irving, and Denton 630-470-8307Terrel Tipton, Insperity HR Services, 972-409-4316
Meg Bakich joins Lynn Davenport to discuss public education and the technology being used to score character traits. Meg is a graduate of Notre Dame and a mother of five children who went through Highland Park ISD schools. She has been a long time advocate who ran for a seat on the HPISD board in 2017. Meg is a remarkable champion for returning to a traditional classical model of education and eliminating experimental and harmful education technologies. She offers simple, practical solutions for parents to exercise their God-given rights to protect their children and give them an education of opportunity. She exposes the agenda to score and embed government-sanctioned character traits in our schools. Go to https://www.bakich4hpisd.com to learn more about Meg's message and education advocacy. Mary Lowe is the cofounder of Families Engaged. The first half of the podcast, Mary and I gave a recap of our tour across Texas to Midland, Huffman, Houston, Cypress, Woodlands and other areas. Our mission is to train families on how to get engaged in the education of their children. There are myriad tools we can use to fight lawlessness with the law. When dealing with school board trustees, state board members and legislators, Mary said, “They don’t know what we don’t tell them.” So we are telling them what is really happening in our school districts. We train parents on how to file grievances, public information requests and how to recognize when they are being “delphied.”We present solutions on how to build a bridge back to a classical model of education. Some advocate for an escape hatch through school choice vouchers using deceptive semantics of “parent empowerment.” We believe the parental rights issue has been conflated with allowing education dollars to follow the child. Our rights as parents come from God. Mary and I understand the trojan horse of school choice legislation and discussed the nuances around language being used to promote school choice bills in the upcoming 88th legislature. Regardless of your stance on school choice, we are paying for public education through our property taxes. School board trustees, state board members, the TEA and legislators have a fiduciary responsibility to the taxpayers to ensure our money is going to students and teachers, not special interests, consultants and technology vendors.Mary Lowe can be reached at marydlowe@yahoo.comFamilies Engaged for Effective Education is on FacebookWebsite: Familiesengaged.orgTexas Lawyers CreedBrought to you by:https://MoveFreelyAmerica.orghttps://OBBMNetworkPodcasts.comhttps://OBBMNetworkBrands.comJunkluggers of Grapevine, Irving, and Denton 630-470-8307Terrel Tipton, Insperity HR Services, 972-409-4316
Marcy Galle is a Parent Advocate and Co-Founder of Families Engaged For Effective Education. She is a former city councilmember of Willow Park just north of Aledo, Texas. Marcy is an expert in public information requests, the Texas Open Meetings Act (TOMA) and the public education grievance process. When local ISDs lawyer up, she steps in to help families exercise their parental rights as outlined in the Texas Education Code. There is a pattern of ungodly behavior in Godley ISD where she has dealt with the administration, the school board, and superintendent shirking their responsibilities and circumventing the law by propping up their lawyers against parents. She is also advocating for parents in Joshua ISD, Fort Worth ISD and others. Parents are being denied their constitutional right to speak at school board meetings. Districts across Texas are deploying antagonistic and disrespectful tactics to dissuade parents from testifying at board meetings. They often go into closed session for 1-2 hours at the beginning of meetings making working parents wait until the closed sessions adjourn before hearing public testimonies. DeSoto ISD is another repeat offender of TOMA. Regarding the captive market of public school students fed into the predatory social-emotional learning cash cow for vendors, parents are benign denied their right to opt in or opt out of these experimental learning technologies and strategies. Marcy helps families understand the laws written to protect children and parents so they can be empowered with the law in order to fight lawlessness. Marcy can be contacted at marcy.m.galle@gmail.comFamilies Engaged for Effective Education is on FacebookWebsite: Familiesengaged.orgTexas Lawyers CreedBrought to you by:https://MoveFreelyAmerica.orghttps://OBBMNetworkPodcasts.comhttps://OBBMNetworkBrands.comJunkluggers of Grapevine, Irving, and Denton 630-470-8307Terrel Tipton, Insperity HR Services, 972-409-4316
Walsh, Gallegos, Trevino, Kyle & Robinson is a law firm deeply entrenched in the Texas education landscape. They are often hired by school districts to fight parents advocating on behalf of their students with special needs. Districts use taxpayer dollars to lawyer up against parents who demand services under the law which are FAPE and IDEA rights. More than 70% of school districts in Texas enlist the help of Walsh Gallegos to undermine parental rights. Walsh Gallegos was also a primary player in helping school districts uphold an arbitrary cap on special education students that was set in 2004. The Houston Chronicle did an exposé on the cap in 2016 called Denied. In October, Mary Lowe of Families Engaged went before the Texas State Board of Education (SBOE) to alert them about Walsh Gallegos. She uncovered a presentation given to Region 15 Education Service Center (ESC) by Walsh Gallegos. The presentation was designed to teach districts how to skirt Senate Bill 3. Her testimony can be found here. Jim Walsh of Walsh Gallegos is a political donor to the Democrat party and can be found on Twitter. Perhaps he needs to be reminded of the Texas Lawyer’s Creed. Mary and I closed with tangible solutions to fix public education in Texas. Mary Lowe is the cofounder of Families Engaged. Mary and I attended an event in September hosted by the Women of St. Michael called “BRIDGING THE DIVIDE: A 5-part lecture series addressing structural divides in America.”She and I gave a play-by-play of the details of the event. The live recording is on Facebook. Learn about the nuances of failed reforms championed by former US Education Secretary Margaret Spellings and her interview with Commit founder Todd Williams. Spellings was appointed by George W. Bush. Williams was chosen to be the education advisor of former Dallas mayor Mike Rawlings and was appointed to four boards and commissions under Governor Greg Abbott. These two controversial education reformers have had enormous influence on public education policy over the last decade. How’s it working for us? Todd Williams said, “Data gives a voice to a child.” Mary and I believe parents and teachers give a voice to a child.Spellings is on the board of Amplify Education where they were awarded a $50 million contract with the Texas Education Agency. Outcomes-based education is not the answer to public education. The best solution is to return to time-tested reading strategies and a classical education rooted in academic knowledge. Data-driven reforms reduce students and teachers to datapoints while edtech vendors and venture capitalists get rich. Emmanuel Lewis is a former Detention Service Officer with the Dallas County Jail and previously worked in the Dallas County Elections Department. His intuition and attention to the political landscape in Dallas County is impressive. He is sounding the alarms on the malfeasance and mismanagement of the county jail under the leadership of Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins. He describes some of the major issues of safety and security in the jail, as well as hundreds of thousands of missing funds.Emmanuel has written and submitted multiple op-eds to local media sources to underscore this issue. He is exploring an employment lawsuit with the county relating to the hypocrisy and violations. The way the county deals with mental health issues in Dallas is to deposit them in the jail system rather than establishing a proper continuum of care to deal with the increasing crisis which was exacerbated by the tyrannical lockdowns. Emmanuel provides practical solutions to this important issue.Social Impact Podcast is brought to you by:OBBM Network BrandsJunkluggers of Irving, Denton, and Grapevine, 630-470-8307Move Freely America1st Safety Training, 214-808-9757Social Impact Podcast is on Apple! Unmask ISD

Unmask ISD

2022-08-2431:44

Since the pandemic hit, parents have been fighting unconstitutional mask mandates plaguing our cities and school districts. Our leaders use selective science to muzzle our children, despite Governor Abbott’s lifting of the mask mandates in Texas. Parents are often marginalized when advocating on behalf of their children while school districts hide behind inconsistent recommendations from the CDC and the local Health and Human Services. Rather than listening to the taxpayers and stakeholders who know what is best for their children, they doubled down on masks - literally, some wear two of them. Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins established an ad-hoc committee to advise area school districts with little regard for parental input. These “health” experts imposed restrictions on our public school children they didn’t require for their own practices and hospital where they work. Melinda Spence is a local real estate advisor and is married with four children, three of whom are enrolled in Richardson ISD. She taught for six years in rural East Texas, private school in Houston and public school in Dallas. She is certified in Special Education and is passionate about education, as well as life at all stages. Aimee Urest is a Dallas native who studied psychology and with an emphasis on trauma at Baylor University and went into pharmaceutical sales. She later became an entrepreneur featured on Shark Tank in 2013 for her women-owned premium denim company. She is married with two boys. Her oldest is in first grade at UP Elementary in Highland Park ISD. She is currently a lead trainer at a local fitness studio. Melinda addressed the social impact of masking children before they are fully developed. She reflected on the negative effects with her youngest child as a freshman entering high school. It made it difficult for her to make friends and advocate for her own education. For sponsor information, call 214-714-0495. Nancy Rodriguez is a social worker, parent volunteer, and special education advocate who ran for a seat on the Dallas ISD school board in November of 2020 where she received the highest number of votes, but not enough to receive the majority over her two opponents. That led to a runoff election with Dustin Marshall, the incumbent. His campaign spent more than $500,000 resulting in his re-election on December 8, 2020. His endorsements came from a web of political “gatekeepers” in Dallas. They are part of theDallas patronage networkthat includes PACs, chamber organizations, politicians, social impact investors, and non-profit leaders.A key player in the local social impact scene is Dallas Social Venture Partners. They host luncheons and conferences to engage Dallas leaders wanting to learn more about their for-profit lens applied to solving social issues. Most people see this tidal wave of impact investing as a way to galvanize support around critical issues and a way to bring change. Doing good while making money could be a good thing, right? But are there unintended consequences to tracking people in a for-profit model that commodifies poverty, homelessness, or early childhood?More information about Nancy Rodriguez can be found at https://nancy4disd.com. Lynn Davenport is an education researcher and advocate for parental rights regarding education technology, data privacy and predatory impact investing schemes. Alice Linahan was a mom who got fired up when she realized the deficiencies in her children’s education. This sent her on an 11-year journey of research that unearthed a shift away from academics, towards an emotional learning model. Upon close inspection, what is going on in our public schools across the board in Texas and nationwide, is a freight train Host Lynn Davenport is warning us about. Are math software programs in place to teach our kids math, or to monetize their scores for expected outcomes investors are looking for? Interestingly enough, investors are making money on their scores, and they are gambling with unproven methodologies that aren’t geared towards critical thinking, but general outcomes. Why?Most parents agree, our children do not seem to be learning critical thinking skills that help them solve problems, but rather, critical thinking that questions the framework of their life.Within this shift away from a focus on reading, writing, math, and history, to formative assessments that monitor children through every click, data is collected and sold, and behavioral based programs are not developmentally appropriate. Listen in to learn why. All children are being put in a box, and if they don’t make the box, they are being tagged. None of these programs have been piloted or proven successful. Truthfully, if they ever fixed the problem, they’d be out of business. Data is put into algorithms, an outcome written into code, and investors profit off the manipulated data. Alice and Lynn are working with other parents, scouring and exposing the blueprints in place that are training our youth to be commodities, instead of lighting the potential inside them the way parents expect. What is the social impact of this? In the past, you went to school and had a great foundation and you were free to go on to the next levels of your education and life. Now, the past dictates your future, and you can’t get a good job if you can’t write or have basic communication skills, without a foundation. The social impact bond market is about equalizing our children and putting them into a box so they can be tracked. The economic future of the United States will be impacted in ways we can’t imagine. The laws passed at the federal and state level have locked in place a system no longer working towards being economically successful, but collecting data and tracing outcomes that are not related to academics.  What do we do? It boils down to local, and local means, in your own home. Listen in to learn how to ask the right questions and start taking a proactive approach to your child’s education. Alice Linahan is the VP of Women on the Wall, and a member of Voices In Power. A variety of federal agencies, including the Department of Defense, NIH, HHS, and FDA have paid for “gain of function” research using federal tax dollars over the last two decades. “Gain of function” is a method of trying to increase the ability of a virus to infect and cause harm to people. This has made the virus more deadly and more contagious. Since the virus is likely man-made and non-naturally occurring, the spike proteins in the vaccine are also non-naturally occurring and were produced by “gain of function.”Dr. Richard Fleming is a research scientist with a Ph.D in physics, as well as a nuclear cardiologist with law degree. He reveals there is much evidence suggesting that the SARS-Cov-2 virus was created in a laboratory through U.S. taxpayer-funded “gain of function” research by scientists in America and Wuhan, China. Why should we listen to experts like Dr. Fleming over the local “health” experts like Dallas HHS Director Dr. Philip Huang and Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins?Fleming understands why people get sick with the virus and potentially develop COVID-19. In 1994 he presented his theory to the American Heart Association regarding inflammatory and thrombotic response caused by viruses and bacteria. PCR tests don’t tell us what is going on inside the body. His Fleming Method measures what is going on inside the tissue in order to treat the problem. The local health experts don’t talk about what works and what doesn’t work. They just repeat talking points on washing hands, wearing a mask and social distancing. Fleming explained the mRNA technology at the core of the vaccines, which he warned is an experimental drug and not even approved by the FDA. Pointing to the “Emergency Use Authorization,” Dr. Fleming says we are being misled and authorities and medical professionals are failing to obtain “informed consent” before using the experimental vaccines on trusting recipients.A variety of federal agencies, including the Department of Defense, NIH, HHS, and FDA have paid for “gain of function” research using federal tax dollars over the last two decades. “Gain of function” is a method of trying to increase the ability of a virus to infect and cause harm to people. This has made the virus more deadly and more contagious. Since the virus is likely man-made and non-naturally occurring, the spike proteins in the vaccine are also non-naturally occurring and were produced by “gain of function.” When tracking the vaccines and their distribution in the world, Dr. Fleming says they precede the onset of the new “variants” and there is more than one variant. Since we can’t trust the BigPharma and the vaccine manufacturers, he has reason to believe the variants follow on the heels of the vaccine sequence. I asked Dr. Fleming about the dangers of transhumanism and the potential for the vaccine to be an injectable operating system. He said we can trust the science but not all scientists. It is not the role of the federal government to mandate an experimental drug tested on the population to control a disease that doesn’t occur any more often than someone who isn’t vaccinated as revealed in the EUA documents found in this full article.Dr. Fleming was targeted for his work challenging the medical establishment and its official narratives--especially when those narratives cost Big Pharma some of its huge profits. The Fleming Method and Dr. Fleming’s CV https://www.flemingmethod.com
