Description

As I embrace all that Midlife means I'm changing things up and reimagining the second half of my life. Putting myself first and facing my fears and doing it anyway .Midlife may have negative connotations for you (it certainly does if you immediately associate it with the word 'crisis') but it's an amazing and freeing time if only we approach it with the right mindset.A question I had been asking myself more and more as I progressed through my 40's was 'What do I really want from life???' It's a HUGE question!! One we are asked repeatedly as children in the form of 'What do you want to be when you grow up?' but somehow it becomes a moot point as we get older - when actually it's even more important! We can be, do and have anything we want if only we make the choice to do so.Change can be foisted on us from all directions in Midlife. Or it can be chosen and as far as possible we want it to be the latter. Even with change that seemingly is not our choice and not in our control there are always options. Being aware of ALL your choices is extremely helpful, being in tune with your motivation, your beliefs and desires elevates your decision making and your ability to move from coping to thriving on a whole new level.Join me as I explore all things Midlife, Mindset and Menopause.Hugs, Jo xxx

Join me as I speak with Grace Smith, Midlife mum of 2 who’s is on a journey to fulfilment and purpose. She’s creating the life she wants and being the person she wants to be by manifesting and living in the now. The mind is like a double-edge sword. It can create great things, but it can also create destructive things.  And we are creating things every second, everyday.  But the question is, are we creating things that are favorable to us or are we leaving it to our unconscious?Grace is definitely consciously creating and it was my pleasure to spend time in her orbit and experience her energy. If you’d like to join like minded Midlife women putting themselves first and working out the path to a fulfilled and joyful life, check out my FB community:Right Side of 40: Midlife ReimaginedTo find out more about Midlife Reimagined 1:1 and workplace Coaching:midlife-reimagined.com
Kirsty took a somewhat unconventional approach to getting in touch with her true self through Midlife. She uncovered a grief she didn't know she was suffering from and developed greater awareness of the power of this new stage of life, the wisdom she can tap into. Kirsty has been on an incredible journey of self awareness in her 40’s and recognised her old way of doing things just didn’t work anymore. Breaking old habits and patterns hasn’t always been easy but she’s found a way to see herself more clearly, form deeper connections and approach life in a softer way.I think Kirsty highlights brilliantly why you need to find your own way forward, truly understand yourself and not worry if you follow the path less trodden. Join us as we talk mindset, business and her ayahuasca* experience*For those not in the know, ayahuasca is used as a spiritual medicine for deep healing and spiritual awakening If you like what you've heard and have an Amazon biz then connect with Kirsty: https://www.facebook.com/groups/641741990379438 elevate@goteamreal.com If you’d like to join like minded Midlife women putting themselves first and working out the path to a fulfilled and joyful life, check out my FB community:Right Side of 40: Midlife ReimaginedTo find out more about Midlife Reimagined 1:1 and workplace Coaching:midlife-reimagined.com
To celebrate World Menopause Day on October 18th I'm talking Menopause in the workplace with Mandy Foxwell and Toni Smith from Ricoh UK.These amazing women turned their own menopause experience of struggling at work into a movement. They have paved the way for their colleagues to access support in numerous ways -  from monthly menopause support groups (attended by women AND men), a new wellness hub for menopause, private healthcare options and last week to celebrate World Menopause Day a company wide Webinar. The aim of this was to raise awareness and get everyone talking. I had the pleasure of supporting them leading up to and at the event and I had so much fun I think you'd love to get to know these two amazing women blazing a menopause trail in the workplace. To check out career opportunities at Ricoh or just to find out more about this fabulous company:  https://www.ricoh.co.uk/about-us/careers/If you’d like to join like minded Midlife women putting themselves first and working out the path to a fulfilled and joyful life, check out my FB community:Right Side of 40: Midlife ReimaginedTo find out more about Midlife Reimagined 1:1 and workplace Coaching:midlife-reimagined.com
Today I've invited along a guest: Jo Chapman a fellow coach, who, at 39 has come to the realisation that perimenopause is something she would benefit from thinking about.  We explore what is going on for her and how she feels about this life transition as she juggles young kids and a busy life. My time with Jo highlighted age is not the main factor as to when to consider perimenopause impacts - after all you are not gifted menopause on a particular birthday. You cannot be too young for perimenopause, 45 is not the magic age when we 'qualify'. If we can enter perimenopause already prepared then we are assured of a smoother and more empowered journey. Join us as we explore all things pre-perimenopause (is that even a thing?) and swap stories.  You can connect with Jo Chapman here:Jo Chapman Self Love and Mindset Coach - Helping women, especially mums, to reconnect with their identity and purpose so they can create a joyful and fulfilled life.  www.jochapmanlifecoaching.comInstagram: @jo.chapman_life_coachAmazing Mammas private Facebook group:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/414237036299337/Thanks for being here. When it came to Perimenopause I quite simply did not have enough awareness to ask for help, to accept what was happening and take all the actions available to me. Don’t be like me and wait for hindsight to know what is going in in your body and brain.  You can empower yourself. with knowledge and a greater level of awareness. Today I share what I know now, what I wish I had known before I was deep in the throws of Perimenopause and how this would have helped me and saved me so much wasted time.I was driving yesterday and a thought occurred to me that made me grin - we are the generation that are going to refuse to grow old gracefully or disgracefully.Instead we are the generation that are going to put our health and wellbeing first, the ones that will enjoy the healthiest of later lives. We are going to buck the trend and live better lives, lives more connected to our true needs and wants. A key place to start is embracing your menopause and having a voice to inspire and help others. Thanks for being here. Midlife is super busy - the juggle is real whether it’s kids, home, work, health or family to mention just a few of the demands on our time and energy. Having said that, it’s easy to stay with the same patterns, to keep busy in the same way and not take the time to realise things are changing whether you like it or not.  And to be fearful of that change! The bottom line is change is coming through Midlife and beyond. You’ve already weathered so much transition, change and challenge to get to today but what if by embracing change you can do more than weather Midlife? By embracing change and welcoming it, even courting it and inviting it in you’ll be stronger and more resilient. You may even find yourself thriving on the adrenaline rush of ‘new’. Welcoming change, getting uncomfortable, failing, succeeding are like muscles that need to be exercised to keep everything in perspectiveJoin me as I share how trying new things sets me free and empowers me and can do the same for you. Thanks for being here. When talking about the transitions of Midlife, the Menopause has to take centre stage. In this episode I’m sharing my menopause story. I must caution this is a story without a neat end as I am still smack bang in the middle of perimenopause and chapters are still to be written but now seems a good time to reflect. Why would you be interested in my story? There is great power is stories - they give you an idea of what  to expect, they give you hope you’ll come out the other side, they prepare you and empower you.  Stories help normalise, they demystify and they just plain help!  Today I am telling my story but one day, my hope is that you will tell your story and by doing do you will help other women to feel normal during this transition. To know they have the power to not only manage this stage of life, but to thrive. Thanks for being here. Men and midlife crisis is the ultimate cliché...but what about women? For women there is no such equivalent, we continue to be the care givers putting others first so there is no time to be indulgent. This doesn’t mean we don’t suffer the same anxieties associated with ageing but outwardly we don’t display it so obviously. We’re too darn busy with the juggle and the mental load! This episode explores why midlife for women is less a crisis and more a transition. A time in life that when embraced can be a beautiful transformation.  We, lovely,  are far more elegant than your typical midlife stereotype and by putting yourself first you will see in time you inspire others to do the same and all around you benefit. I'll be covering all things Midlife, mindset, health and wealth in this series of Podcasts. I'll be sharing my journey, warts and all. The good, the bad and the ugly.  I'd love to know what you think so listen in, hit subscribe and leave me a review if you feel so inclined! Thanks for being here.
