Description

Have you ever dreamed about starting your own business...? And then thought better of it... Let's face it, on any given day you can talk yourself into or out of almost anything! This podcast is for you if you've ever said 'I can't', 'Not yet' or 'who am I to do that?' This podcast is about people who never really thought they could, but did. They took the bull by the horns and made the leap. They had all the questions but none of the answers. These people are like you and me. We have nothing, but we have our passion. We know nothing, but we have an idea. As a branding designer of 25 years, I have worked with hundreds of business startups. People who have dreams, who have stories. People who start businesses when they had no clue how to start a business. These are their stories and your inspiration to take that same leap. Yes you. Yes now. Because we think we can't but just maybe we can.

Why my podcast failed

Why my podcast failed

This is the story of how Trudie Avery's podcast failed.Really? Am I really going to put this out there? Of course I am.It's not been an easy podcast to create but in the spirit of learning and sharing, I thought it was important to share this, so people can learn from my mistakes. It’s really hard to say enough is enough sometimes. When you feel so passionate about something, it’s not easy to be logical. But in Business, you have to be rational, you have to be analytical, to look at the facts and sometimes admit that something isn’t working. In this (my last) episode of The Brand New Business Podcast, I'm giving you the low down on why I started the podcast (not JUST because everyone else is doing it...), how I went about it, what I learnt along the way, how I learnt it, who I learnt if from and then essentially what went wrong. Why it failed.I'll let you decide how much of a failure it was.Trudie's links:Website: logolady.comLinkedIn: @trudie-averyFacebook: www.facebook.com/logoladydesignsInstagram: www.instagram.com/logolady.design/YouTube: Brand New Business
This is the story of Teddy DavenportWhen the whispers in the back of your head suddenly become a scream, that's when you need to act! This is what happened to Teddy... He was plodding along as a recruitment consultant, in a job where the only real benefit was the paycheck. He had no great plans. No real intentions. He had a side interest in film and photography from his days as an actor and was investing in video equipment to record some screenplays but this was a passion project, not a career move.Until BOOM! One day something... A chance conversation, a glimmer of an idea, a spark of a plan. Followed by a bit of blagging..!Matched with A LOT of hard work, some heartbreak and disappointment thrown in for good measure, but finally, a sense of purpose. Edward finally realised that he was capable of so much more. This is Teddy's story.LinksWebsite: www.strategicvisual.co.ukLinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/edavenport1 Instagram: www.instagram.com/strategicvTrudie's links:Website: logolady.comLinkedIn: @trudie-averyFacebook: www.facebook.com/logoladydesignsInstagram: www.instagram.com/logolady.design/YouTube: Brand New Business

This is the story of Samantha Cameron. An incredible story of big dreams and determination. Sam has been on an emotional roller coaster of a business and personal journey. As a social media expert and coach, Sam has built an enormously successful business over the last 6 years that has grown from just her, to a team of social media managers.Quite how Sam has found the strength to do this just mystifies me. In the beginning she battled the energy sapping Lyme's Disease and then, over the last 18 months, she has been the full time carer for her perfectly normal 10 year old son, who woke up one morning and could no longer eat, speak or walk. He was struck down by a mental health condition called PAWS (Pervasive Arousal Withdrawal Syndrome).Spending 8 hours a day caring for her son Beau, for many people would have meant the end of a business, but not for Sam. Struggling with PTSD, Sam remains pragmatic, stoic and astonishingly ambitious."Small doesn't cut it with me. It has to be big!"As a family, they are getting through Beau's condition and he is now independent again, while Sam continues to be grateful for all life throws at her and once again chases her dreams with a passion that is nothing short of awe inspiring!Samantha's LinksWebsite: samanthacameronsocial.co.ukFacebook: SamanthaCameronSocialMediaInstagram:samanthacameronsocialTikTok: @samanthacameronsocialLinkedIn: Samatha CameronTrudie's links:Website: logolady.comLinkedIn: @trudie-averyFacebook: www.facebook.com/logoladydesignsInstagram: www.instagram.com/logolady.design/YouTube: Brand New Business
