Description

The Inspired Business Podcast is where we talk all about how to earn a God-honoring income from your creative work so you can serve more people, sustain your message financially, and make a bigger difference in this world. I am a multi-published author turned digital products coach… but once upon a time, not too long ago, I was terrified of technology! I didn’t know a tag from a tripwire from a Tupperware lid. If I can figure out how to love digital marketing, then believe me, you can, too. Together we’re going to discover how to grow your audience and your income with biblically sound business principles that align with your faith and family values.

Are free lead magnets the best way to attract customers? Usually no, but sometimes yes. There are a few occasions when offering a freebie before asking for the sale is a smart strategy. But it has to be the right kind of freebie, meaning, one that attracts the right people and nurtures them toward a conversion. In this episode of The Inspired Business podcast, you’ll learn when you should use a freebie and when you shouldn’t—and why. Plus we’ll touch on what makes a freebie valuable (for you as well as for the customer) and why giving stuff away for free is still not my favorite strategy in most situations. Highlights:One thing that makes me different from other digital marketing coachesWhen to use a freebie vs. direct to sale depends on two factors: price and marketing strategyIn general, low-ticket can skip the freebie and go direct to sale UNLESS you’re using partner marketing. And high-ticket needs a warm-up offer… which may or may not be a freebie. Low-ticket through ads = direct to saleLow-ticket through email marketing = direct to sale for your own subscribersLow-ticket through partner marketing = lead magnetLead magnet rules for partner marketingHigh-ticket = offering a warm-up / buffer experience is wiseResources mentioned in this episode:Episode 6 - Why Freebies Are Hurting Your Email List, and How to Attract Subscribers Who Will Actually Buy From YouPodcast series on email marketingEpisode 16 - How to get new email subscribersEpisode 17 - How to communicate with your email subscribersEpisode 18 - How to turn email subscribers into paying customersPodcast series on partner marketingEpisode 47 - What is partner marketing and how does it work?Episode 48 - Seven partner activities to grow your email list and your salesEpisode 49 - How to find great marketing partnersAre you a digital marketing genius? But memberships can also be a pain in the butt for creators who don’t like to churn out content or deal with turnover on a regular basis. In this episode of The Inspired Business Podcast, you’ll get some insight on what makes a membership successful, why people leave, what you can and can’t do to retain customers, and why sometimes the best thing you can do is let a member go. Highlights:What memberships have in common with prom dress shoppingPros of running a membership: changing lives and getting paidCons of running a membership: burnout for you and the buyerWhat causes members to leave a paid communityWhen losing members is a reflection on you and when it’s notHow continual market research can help you keep your members happyDon’t give in to the bells and whistles; serve within your parametersTrust your funnel Resources mentioned in this episode:CrowdcastFor details on our own membership, The Funnel Club, click HERE.Are you a digital marketing genius? Which is better: low-ticket or high-ticket? That’s a big debate in the online business world. Lots of sellers are pushing high-ticket offers these days because higher-priced programs earn money faster. But did you know the majority of your audience will never buy a high-ticket offer? If you’re not selling a low-ticket offer on autopilot, either with or without a higher-ticket offer on the back end, then you’re missing an incredible opportunity to scale your online business to new income heights. In this episode of The Inspired Business Podcast, I’ll share three reasons why low-ticket funnels can lead to breakthrough growth, plus some key factors to consider when choosing the right low-ticket product for your audience. Highlights:The definition of a low-ticket productAre you ignoring 99 percent of your prospective customers?Low-ticket offers give customers a low-risk chance to get to know youHigh-ticket buyers will come from your low-ticket pool of customersWhy recurring income from automated low-ticket funnels benefits more than just the bottom lineThe key to choosing a low-ticket program is the problem it solvesThree factors you should reserve for your high-ticket offerYour low-ticket offer should be valuable yet scalable in terms of your time and availabilityResources mentioned in this episode:Partner marketing podcast series:Part 1: What Is Partner Marketing and How Does It WorkPart 2: Seven Partner Marketing Activities You Can Do to Grow Your Email List and Your SalesPart 3: How to Find Great Marketing PartnersClick HERE to learn more about the Inspired Business Mentorship.Click HERE to learn more about the Funnel Club. Are you a digital marketing genius? Don’t you love it when a message practically writes itself? It’s that moment when God suddenly downloads some brilliant piece of content into your brain, and you get to receive it, record it, and share it with the world… all for His glory. Are you trying desperately to grow your email list and gain more subscribers? Do you fret over every single unsubscriber and nasty reply? Do you worry about how much you should or shouldn’t email your list? What are you willing to sacrifice in order to make your subscribers happy? If these questions take up any tiny bit of space in your head, it’s time to flip the script on your attitude toward email marketing. Your subscribers don’t own you, they shouldn’t dictate your business decisions, and not everybody deserves a spot on your email list. How can you know if your digital product is going to sell? Several factors can help determine ahead of time whether your sales funnel leads to conversions… or crickets.
