In this episode, Dr. Yuri Nava talks to Maritza and Muna about school counseling advocacy and her leadership approach. She also discusses the importance of doing right by students and letting the results speak for themselves. After sharing her experience as a School Counselor of the Year, Dr. Nava encourages school counselors to seek out leadership opportunities even if it means moving into an administrative role.
In this episode Muna and Maritza talk to Indiana School Counselor of the Year, Lydia McNeiley. She discusses how her desire to be a lifelong learner has enabled her to continuously educate herself to best advocate for students.
In our seventh episode,  we chat with Kaleem Mogent,  a school counselor based in New York. Kaleem is one of the leaders of ASCA's Affinity Group for BIPOC school counselors. Although Kaleem has only been a school counselor for a few years, he has managed to make a huge impact at the school, state and national levels. He shares what motivates him and his goals for the 2023-24 school year.  
In this episode, Maritza and Muna welcome ASCA board member and 2019 National School Counselor of the Year finalist, Roberto Aguilar to the show.  A self-described introvert, Roberto talks about what motivates him to take on leadership roles and shared his journey from school counselor, school counselor of the year, State Association President to current ASCA board member. We're back and better than ever! We are starting out our second season and the school year with Part 2 of our conversation with Anna from the Los Angeles County of Education and Dr. Lee from the Orange County Office of Education. They give fantastic tips and resources for school counselors to take advantage of during the school year. 
In Part 1, of our two part interview Maritza and Muna speak with Dr. Noaveyar Lee and Anna Heinbuch about their roles at the Orange County Department of Education and the Los Angeles County of Education, respectively. They discuss their roles, how they are able to use their platform to support school counselors, and ways counselors can access their vast resources. 
In this episode, Maritza and Muna speak with Priscilla Grijalva about her school counseling journey. We also discuss her work with REACH Riverside along with her experience being on the CASC and ASCA Board of Directors. 
Episode two!  Life made it difficult and it took a while but  we are back! Join us as Muna and Maritza recap meeting in person for the first time. They also discuss Maritza's first in-person California Association of School Counselors (CASC) Conference.
