Last night as I watched the news I was struck by the difference of protests. Back in 1964, sixty years ago, I marched with Martin Luther King, and the rules were pretty strict. You weren’t allowed to say anything bad. You couldn’t carry a poster that had something foul on it. If somebody struck you, you weren’t allowed to strike them back. It was a peaceful protest, enforced by rules for peace. How much different are the protests today. For instance, Columbia University and other places, students and outside provocateurs are protesting Israel and America. And promoting Hamas, even after Hamas made a horrific terror attack on the civilians of Israel.  Black Lives Matter protests burned entire city blocks! I was driving through Ohio for a while back and passed a strip joint. On the marquee it proudly announced, “Tonight: Stormy Daniels.” It seems that porn star has dropped a long way since Donald Trump’s lawyer paid her some hush money. Rich men do that. Prosecutor Jack Smith is known for going after Christians and conservatives. And this time he’s going after Mr Trump for storing classified documents in a safe-room at Miro Lago. Trump said, “as President, I had declassified these documents.” And Jack Smith said he couldn’t, so therefore he has to go to prison because he had classified documents. On the other hand, Joe Biden had classified documents in his garage and his Corvette. In the book, “Who Really Gives in America,” statistics show that Conservatives, especially conservative Christians, outgive liberals and Democrats by a margin of 10 to 1. Who feels good about their giving? Christians and conservatives could feel good about giving their own money - because of their love for God and for people. Democrats feel good about voting for politicians who will give OTHER people’s money. To dubious charities, many of which are totally ungodly and un-American. But as Alexis de Tocqueville predicted, “democracy will be destroyed when people discover that they can take money from other people by voting for politicians who will do it for them.” Of course that’s theft! America’s privileged kids who attend the Ivy League colleges are out there shouting, “Death to Israel! Death to America!” You’d have to wonder why they want death to either? But then again, they’re the privileged and they expect their loans to be repaid by the citizens of America. You know,  the “death to America people.” The kids are also shouting, “From the river to the sea, Palestine must be free!” And that means all the Jews there must be pushed into the sea and wiped out. Since January of 2021, gasoline prices have more than doubled. But did you know that electricity is now 29% higher as well? I saw an interview last night on television regarding Biden’s war on natural gas. I listened carefully because my own family sells natural gas in Pennsylvania. In fact the Marcellus gas shelf that runs under three states has enough gas to supply the entire world’s needs with clean efficient natural gas. It will power every car, every home, every factory, for the next 300 years! And we discovered that the Earth is producing more natural gas than we’re taking out! The pressures are building up, but we’re not using it. Instead, China is building coal plants using high sulfur/low BTU coal. That really is polluting! I was listening to a recording of a telephone call from Hunter Biden to Henry Zhao, a Chinese businessman. “I’m sitting here with my father and would like to understand why the commitment has not been fulfilled. Last week Joe Biden stumbled and fumbled his way across Pennsylvania, and received a healthy helping of hisses and boos. 63 years ago when I entered college, I wasn’t a rich kid, didn’t come from a rich family. So I worked my way through college, and I had some loans. I paid those loans back because all loans must be paid back. Biden has another idea! If he could get the vote from kids who borrowed a lot of money, and simply don’t want to pay it back, all he has to do is say “ I’m going to forgive their loans!” Of course he can’t do that. Only Congress can spend money, or offer loan forgiveness. I think the worst lesson in life for a graduating kid would be “Hey, you don’t need to repay your debts! Let the schmucks in life who didn’t go to college, or didn’t borrow money, or worked the way through a college repay the debt for you! How do you get the opportunity to adopt a stray cat? Easy! Just feed the cat once, and he’ll stick around. Feed him again, he’ll stick around permanently and you’ve got a stray cat. There’s a community social app called Next Door, and I don’t think I’ll be on there much longer. Often times political questions are asked, and they always have a slant to them. For instance, “why have food prices gone up so high?” The consensus seems to be, “because companies are greedy and they’re making profits!” Or as Kamala Harris would say, “they’ve gone up because prices are higher!” And as stupid as she is, that’s right. Prices are higher! That’s all inflation is - printing too many dollars. And now our national debt interest is going to exceed our nationality defense expenses. And contrary to popular opinion, entitlements and illegal aliens aren’t the main responsibility for the huge debt. No, it’s interest on the huge debt. And we’re soon not going to be able to pay that. Today April 19th is the anniversary of the Branch Davidian complex being attacked, and 119 men, women, and children being burned to death. The ATF wanted to arrest David Koresh, the director of this 7th Day Adventist sect. And they could have done so easily.  David Koresh went shopping in town every week. But instead of quietly picking David up there, they went in guns blazing. And like the murder of unarmed January 6th protester Ashley Babbit, no one has been punished for the murder of these 119 innocent people. We have seen when some banks have been considered “too big to fail.” They are considered so essential that we must excuse their ineptitude. We prop them up with money taken from citizens. Today we are also seeing news outlets that are “too big to lie.” We hang on every word, never doubting that they may be leaving out inconvenient truths - or even lying to us outright. This undeserved faith in the media comes from an unbiblical, and therefore unrealistic view of human nature as “basically good .” We then extend this thinking to government officials, medical personnel, and also the news media. Because we have this faith, we even ignore it when they are caught in an outright lie. And even when they say things that don’t make sense, and therefore don’t pass the giggle test. Yes, it is inconvenient to believe the Bible about “fallen human nature.” But it will be a whole lot more inconvenient to not believe it!
