This month we speak with Tyler Bliss from the DISCOVER 2014 class and the Executive Director of the New Albany Floyd County Education Foundation. Tyler and Jesse have known each other since performing together on the New Albany High School stage and discuss their performance paths and how that has led them to working in the non-profit world. Jesse and Tyler also discuss the importance of finding an outlet for your passions and how sometimes that doesn't involve how you make a living and that's ok! You'll also get to hear about some of the great work the New Albany Floyd County Education Foundation does to support educators in the New Albany Floyd County district. This month I venture out of our office and to the B.A.Y.A Center in Clarksville to talk with the Founder and Executive Director of B.A.Y.A. Beautiful As You Are, Tish Frederick. Tish is a member of the DISCOVER 2023 class. We had a very relaxing conversation about the origins of B.A.Y.A as a nonprofit (Trigger warning there is mention of self-harm in this episode), her journey from not even wanting kids to having 2 of her own to leading this ground braking organization, and she gives some wonderful advice to aspiring leaders out there.
