The guys sit down with guitarist Rob Carlyle, who discusses the New York City music scene, the overlap between The Compulsions and Guns n' Roses through the likes of Bumblefoot and Frank Ferrer, his gear, influences, and the state and future of the music industry.
On this episode of the Liner Note the guys sit down with the incomparable Rylie DeGarmo.  Rylie disusses her musical background and how her early exposure to the Beatles, Billie Holiday, and other artists continues to influence her approach to writing and composing her music. Rylie also talks about her time in Nashville and how it's influenced her sound and maturity as an artist. She lets us in on her creative process and explains that not every musical creation needs to be shared, that some works are the products of steps in an artists' musical journey but might not be meant for the public. We are undeniably blessed in capturing the thoughts of a nascent musical phenomenon as she moves forward as an artist.
Continuing with our series of interviews with past and present members of Kingdom Come, we sit down with Heiko Radke-Sieb, lead guitarist on the Kingdom Come album, Bad Image. This was an album with a predominantly German line-up, recorded in Hamburg. Heiko tells us about working with Lenny Wolf, the creative process of making the album, and reveals that Lenny played almost all the instruments on Bad Image. Heiko also explains the musical scene at the time the album was released and how grunge music and other musical styles overtook a more traditional 1980's rock sound, making it challenging to find an audience. Hieko explains his years of work in the music industry and his session recordings with performers such as  Mark Wahlberg. Heiko discusses his work in theater production, including a particularly successful run of a musical about the legendary german performer, singer and songwriter, Falco.  Join us as we delve deeper into the legendary rock band Kingdom Come.
In this episode of The Liner Note the great drummer and songwriter James Kottak pays us a visit. James talks about his introduction to drums as a young boy: being mesmerized by the drums in a rock band playing in a store, eventually getting a drumset and playing along at home. He discusses joining local bands in the early days and playing his way into adulthood - eventually reaching the spotlight with Kingdom Come. James also talks about his years with the iconic rock band The Scorpions, his side projects, his ghost drumming, and his  reunion with Kingdom Come. James hints that we may hear some good news about a tour soon. James also talks about his  love of writing and that he is currently working on his autobiography. James concludes with his thoughts on politics and explains there is room for everyone to have an opinion but that there is a dire need for respect when others disagree.  Join us as we get to probe the thoughts, life, and career of one of the greatest rock drummers of all time.
In this last installment of our interview,  the great JB Frank reveals that when Kingdom Come was put together as a band, around Lenny Wolf, they were nudged to channel Led Zeppelin's influence - an element in the band's history that always stirred controversy: JB and The Liner Note hosts discuss the prevalence of this influence in the bands of the era and why modern bands like Greta Van Fleeet get a pass.  We also learn about an soon to be cast biopic that could feature JB as Steven Tyler. JB also delves further into the music industry's machinations, entertaining a question we often ponder when we come across some great acts that don't strike gold: why didn't they become a hit?  Upcoming Kingdom Come tour plans and the challenges in the band's personnel round out the discussion. Listen with us as we learn many more details about Kingdom Come's history!
In part two of this three-part episode with the great JB Frank, we learn how JB first got involved with Kingdom Come. JB also explains delves into the recording industry and his experience as a ghost musician for other artists. JB also reveals details about his acting experience.
In part one of this three-part special episode of The Liner Note, the guys sit down with JB Frank, the legendary bassist and musician known as one of the lyrical and musical powerhouses behind the great heavy metal band Kingdom Come. JB lets us in on his spiritualism and how it brings peace to his life, the love he has for his wife and family, his history as a musician, and the history of his musical projects.  He shares the history of his early days, as a young musician, fighting his way to notoriety in the Florida music scene, his ups and downs with entertainment power-brokers and record companies, and the chance encounters that brought him to Hollywood and a second career few of us know about... as a seasoned actor. In part two, JB discusses Kingdom Come's phenomenal debut, his run-ins with other rock legends, and his greatest performances. Part three delves into Kingdom Come's status today and he makes a surprising reveal about the origins of Kingdom Come.
