Meet former volleyball player Samantha Rico and former basketball teammates Kyla McMinn and Jazra Williams as they aim to give struggling athletes a voice and an outlet and try to raise awareness and end the stigma around mental health. We bring in former and current athletes to talk about their personal battles.

In this first episode of Beyond The Bench we give our listeners a look into our brains. We each introduce ourselves and share a little bit of our personal and sports backgrounds. We discuss some of our own experience as well as the stories from big-name athletes who have shared similar mental health struggles. With this launch we hope to help our listeners understand why this topic is so important and why we want to go Beyond The Bench. 
Get ready and warm up because it's game time!Three collegiate athletes Kyla, Sam, and Jazra are here to talk about the different mental illnesses that former and current players have dealt with throughout their time of being in athletics. Beyond the bench tackles not only the emotional but physiological state of what it's like being a student athlete. Join us on on our 8-episode series dropping February 27th with a new episode each week.
