Tune in to the latest Divorce Podcast episode! Join host Amy Valdivia, CDLP®, in conversation with Financial Advisor Ann Everhart as they explore nurturing your relationship with money during divorce. Empower yourself with mindful decisions for lasting financial stability. More about Ann:Like many people, my real financial education didn’t start until my mid 20s. As I got older, I began to recognize that there was a huge gap in the expectation that I should be saving money and the education to know how. I knew I wanted the freedom, choice, and impact money would give me – but I didn’t know how to make it happen. And, thinking about the future and retirement planning can be a stretch when you feel like retirement is this abstract thing. I mean, who knows if I’ll still be alive?! I’m alive TODAY!Luckily for me, I met a woman who was a financial professional and her energy and attentiveness inspired me to want to set up an appointment with her. I knew I wasn’t on “track” and I felt a comfort with her that I hadn’t felt talking about money before. At our meeting together, she provided an education that I needed. We don’t learn this stuff in school, right? So this was what did it for me. A light switch went on, and I saw how simple it could be to be building wealth and setting myself up for the future. At the time I was learning to take more control of my finances, I started to pay more attention to how I was living and I began to feel something was missing from my life in general. Around that time, I received a mailer from a meditation center offering an introduction to Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. Something resonated with me, so I signed up for a three-day workshop – which ended up changing my life. After delving into a longer course of study on mindfulness, I began to feel like I was stepping into an entirely new paradigm, I learned gratitude and the power behind it – and doing so brought immediate results into my life. I traveled abroad on a path of self-development and conscious transformation. I took a ten-day silent meditation retreat in New Zealand; I spent time at a retreat and wellness center in New York, taking courses on mindfulness, intuition, emotional freedom technique (EFT), tapping, and meditation; I got my 200-hour yoga teacher certification; and I spent three months in Nicaragua to re-evaluate where I was going next. All of this allowed me to step out of my patterning and conditioning and get clear on my true purpose.Connect with Ann:Sopris Wealth Advisors970-226-0980www.ann-sopriswealth.com#Divorce #MindfulMoney #DivorcePodcast #CDLPwww.DivorceLendingAssociation.com Visit www.divorceworkshop.com for more information and to take back control. At the Divorce Lending Association, our mission is to help divorcing homeowners make more informed decisions regarding their home equity solutions and the divorce team identify any potential conflicts between the divorce settlement, the mortgage, and real property.Divorce Mortgage Planning is the ability to put into play the desired outcome by pairing the needs and options available while incorporating the necessary details and clarity into an executable settlement agreement to obtain closure and peace of mind successfully. Are you going through a divorce and need information on refinancing your mortgage or buying anew home once the divorce is final? Tune in to the newest episode of the Divorce Podcast by the Divorce Lending Association! Host Marc Meglio, CDLP®, sits down with financial expert Janet Rhodes Friedman, CFP®, CDFA®, MBA, to discuss bridging the gap between financial literacy and divorce.  More about Janet:As Senior Financial Advisor and Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®)with Financial Planning Solutions, LLC, I guide individuals and families to visualize their financial and other life goals, help them understand their finances, and provide planning to realize their goals.  I educate clients about many areas of finance, including saving and investing for retirement and other goals, budgets and cash flow management, college funding for children, tax planning, and more.  I especially enjoy working with women with limited financial literacy or considering divorce.  I became a CDFA® (Certified Divorce Financial Analyst®) to better serve this niche.   My story began in my hometown of Pittsburgh.  Before marriage, my mother was an assistant to a member of the Mellon family.  She loved the world of investing and finance.  When widowed at 39 with three children under age 10, she went back to work.  She subscribed to the Wall Street Journal, Forbes and Barron’s - not common for women in the 1970’s.  She actively participated in an investment club and inspired me to pursue a career in financial services.   After graduation from Duke, I joined a bank management training program in Atlanta (only the 2nd year women were hired).  My four years included credit analysis training, manager of market research and lending to mid-size businesses in South Carolina and southern Georgia, a challenge for a “Yankee” woman. I then earned my MBA at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, followed by three years with KPMG as Consultant to the Chair of the National Financial Services consulting practice, then eight years with Fidelity Investments as a Vice President in the institutional side of the business.   While I enjoyed working with large corporations and banks, I needed more psychic satisfaction from my work.  I realized working directly with families and individuals could better meet that need.  I completed the self-study CFP® program and obtained my CFP® designation during my “work at home with two young children” phase.  I have now been a financial planner and investment advisor since 2009, and have been with Financial Planning Solutions since 2022.617-630-4978https://planwithfps.com/#DivorcePodcast #FinancialLiteracy #Empowermentwww.DivorceLendingAssociation.com Visit www.divorceworkshop.com for more information and to take back control.
