In this show, I had studio guests Jace Lebeau, and independant twenty-three year-old gay man who faced an uncertain future living with a "Born Again Christian" mother and a brother who "outed": him to the family. Along with Jace was my friend Michael Mastrelembo who was a very active member of the Long Island LGBT community who shared his active involvement within that community and offered helpful information on many of the on-going organizations and events going on in the LGBT community in Long Island. Comparisons were made frequently to the LGBT communities in Brooklyn and Manhattan including the level of "gay elitism" being demonstrated among members of the gay community who cause others to have negative feelings about themselves, especially, with regards to body image and status.. Issues that we addressed both in my book Talk it OUT- No More Gay Shame and my documentary film of the same name on www.drvince.tv. This show from some twelve years ago features disc jockey and reporter for Billboard Magazine Reed McGowan and matchmaker and author Charlie Maffei (also known as "Charlie the Matchmaker" ) featured a lively discussion of the legitimacy of gay marriage during the Obama years. Charlie talked about his own loving marriage to an older man and Reed presented a more critical but thought-provoking discussion on the complexities of love with another man and society's views on the subject. It was most interesting to hear that not much has changed since that time and now and how at the present with gay marriage being the law- we still face challenges.  This is the second part of a two part interview.Support the Show.Follow Dr. Vince:https://www.instagram.com/talkitoutdrvinceSee all of our episodes here:https://drvince.tv

This show "Growing Older and Being Gay" was a frequent topic for my show since it is a very important topic for gay men who were born during the Baby Boom generation. Frequently I hear "I feel invisible" as I age in a culture that doesn't embrace the older generation. Tune in for this candid discussion with a panel of gay men from their twenties to sixties.
