Description
In 1996, Sue Knight was found dead in her Athens, TX, home. Her will named a loose acquaintance as the executor of her estate, but after an alleged phone call from the CIA and a dire warning from the local sheriff, the executor stopped asking questions. More than 25 years later, Sueโs memory haunts the town of Athens and the people who knew her. Who was Sue, really? Why did this English expat settle in small-town Texas? And could she still be alive?

if she had the insurance policy for more than 2 years suicide would not preclude the insurance company from paying the proceeds. state insurance law mandates a 2 year suicide provision.
What a beautiful tribute to Sue. We all want to be remembered when we die, and your gentle and loving consideration regarding Sue when digging into her life fills my heart.
Also, the CIA isn't in charge of Witness Relocation.
Body decomp is affected more by the environment than time. 4 days in the Texas heat would speed it up very fast.
wow
total friend crush on the forensic pathologist in this episode
in the 90's, Fen-phen or Fenfluramine, was a weight-loss medication taken off the market because it could cause heart damage. I feel like the doctors and scientists you spoke with who knew she was on diet medication were remiss in not mentioning this.
If she was "not currently depressed" it could mean that she quit taking an SSRI cold turkey (or otherwise too quickly) and it caused acute withdrawal which could easily make someone suicidal.
As someone who works in mental health, Sueโs โnon-suicideโ note is classic depression. Wanting to die but not wanting to unalive yourself is the same thing. Perhaps some of the meds numbed the pain, but that feeling of just โblahโ is still deeply painful. I think it was an accident, but I also think Sue was purposely careless with how many drugs she was consuming.
you really should look into severe flu and depression. Another sign of accidental death could be high fever caused by the flu.
very good
4 episodes at least of women chit chatting and speculating about what Might have happened to another woman. zero advancement of the story. don't waste your time.
lots of filler on this one ๐
the tldr version: no truth to any of it. small town gossip/lore.
I've listened to the last episode & the quality was awful. couldn't understand a word, so I've dropped it. but this episode was the first one I've listened to until the end. I pay attention to every minute of it.
friend crush on that couple. can they have a reality TV show? first reality TV show I'd watch.
I do t think she was in witness protection.....I think she was an agent for the CIA. why would someone in witness protection need all that high tech stuff and have a British accent?
Ew Tony needs to stop. His memory of her seems so tainted by his ridiculous ego. She told him she wished she'd never let him go ๐คฎ. Ew.
