This is part 3 of the series Thinking About What You Are Thinking About.  Your mind creates feelings that direct your behavior, which creates results. Therefore, you have to look at your mind to get new results. When we focus on creating change by changing our actions without looking at our minds- the cause of our actions-  we can’t create sustainable change. Pressing on despite unwanted emotions requires being willing to feel discomfort even as you take action from new thoughts. If you are ready to become the woman God says you already are, you have to join me in Clarity+Courage, my cost-effective coaching group for Christian women. This is part six of the series How To Get Your Relationship Back On Track. In this episode, I explore what it means to show up as yourself.  You want to be in a relationship with someone because they value YOU, not you being who you think they want you to be.    Awareness of your thoughts, feelings, and desires is crucial to express yourself and feel close and connected to others.  We consider obstacles to speaking up and the benefits of sharing yourself in an honest and true way.If you are ready to become the woman God says you already are, you have to join me in Clarity+Courage, my cost-effective coaching group for Christian women. E39: True Self

E39: True Self

2024-01-2620:41

In the Western World, we tend to indulge the view of self as we focus on personal development, self-actualization, and becoming the best version of ourselves.  Eastern religions lean toward renouncing self and suppressing wants and desires to move to a place of spiritual enlightenment.  Neither of these perspectives seems to fall in line with Biblical truth. Rather than losing ourselves as we die to our flesh, we find that we actually become more of our true selves.  When we receive Christ, our true identity is restored, and we can serve purposefully in the body.  Our desires lead us to deeper intimacy with God and we become more alive as we see ourselves as part of the greater whole where Christ is the head.  Letting go of selfish ambition and vain conceit, we make room for the power of Christ to flow through us.In this episode, I share 12 Attributes of Your True Self, a self we come to know as we surrender more and more to Jesus. If you are ready to become the woman God says you already are, you have to join me in Clarity+Courage, my cost-effective coaching group for Christian women. Can you trust in God's goodness and sovereignty, even when the road seems rough? What does it look like to let go of how you think things should be without giving up hope? The pathway to surrender often involves suffering.  We must be willing to feel our pain and gently move to a place of trust.   The alternative is powering our way through which leads us to greater self-reliance, exhaustion, and frustration, rather than greater dependency on Jesus. In this episode, I give you tips for how to hit pause on reacting to your pain, and instead move into the sea of suffering which leads to surrender, which unleashes rest and expectant joy knowing God has good things for you.If you are ready to become the woman God says you already are, you have to join me in Clarity+Courage, my cost-effective coaching group for Christian women. E37: The Impossible

E37: The Impossible

Ever wondered how to go about accomplishing the impossible? This episode illuminates the four stages of achieving just that, from the despair of being unable to achieve your goals to the joy of leaning on God's strength. We delve into Apostle Paul's passionate journey of faith, where he learned to rely on Christ's atonement, not his self-will. We take a step towards surrender by accepting our helplessness and then shifting our focus entirely so that we can move from despair to expectant joy. We wrap up this episode with a promise - though sin may work in us, it doesn't define us. If you are ready to become the woman God says you already are, you have to join me in Clarity+Courage, my cost-effective coaching group for Christian women. E36: Flesh vs. Spirit

Join me for this podcast series, The Surrendered Self.  To understand the concepts of surrender and self, we must plug them into the story of mankind's relationship with God, which is a story of redemption.  In this episode, I remind you of the ongoing battle between the flesh and the spirit. I encourage you as a believer to find your identity and worth in Jesus rather than define yourself by your sin or fallen nature.  Though we live in mortal bodies, the Holy Spirit dwells inside us and our days can be fueled by his spirit. I discuss how surrendering to God forms a secure foundation for our identities and equips us with the necessary tools to navigate the conflict between our flesh and spirit. Through this series, I aim to provide insights that could reshape your thinking, reaffirm your beliefs, and, ultimately, redefine your identity in Christ. If you are ready to become the woman God says you already are, you have to join me in Clarity+Courage, my cost-effective coaching group for Christian women.
