Brown Ale's are this weeks feature, we initially tried to do American Brown Ales, but most beer labels don't indicate if the beer is an English or American. Out of the 6 beer we ended up with 3 were English and 3 were American. You may think well, whats the difference they are both brown ales, but English tend to be malty and often nutty where the American beers tend to be a bit more dry and bitter with more notice citrus notes.

The American Pale Ales are also notably heavy on the hops and tend to have taste notes of Citrus, Pine nuts, and Caramel.
Another Thursday night more beer to drink. I’m really loving these Thursday nights, drinking several beers of the same style from different breweries is a real treat. Tonight we are serving up Witt, which is a style of wheat beer. This style of wheat beer is generally characterized by both flavors and aromas of coriander, [...]Post from: Simply Beer
Another Thursday night another couple of beers to sample. This week the Ale-holes review 4 Stouts. On Tuesday when we decided the style of beer, we didn’t realize how difficult it would be to simply find a Stout. There are so many different styles of stout, coffee, chocolate, double, Russian, and imperial, stores tend to only carry a limited array of stouts that cover this spectrum.[...]Post from: Simply Beer
