When does discipline of a child or children turn into abuse? Where is the line drawn and who is responsible for drawing that line?  Do you ascribe to the old adage, If you “Spare the rod, you Spoil the child”? When if at all would physical discipline be meted out to children? And ds physical discipline ultimately harm children down the line? Does physical discipline desensitize children to violence? The FTP Fam explored this topic and Simply the producer chimed in  with her always unique and poignant perspective! Where do you stand? Tune in and check it out!
Malcolm X said, “You didn‘t land on Plymouth Rock, Plymouth Rock landed on you” How does this apply if at all to the issue of illegal aliens or illegal immigrants? Since folks who are in this country are here in violation of our established rule of law, are they then criminals? Should they be considered and treated as criminals? What about those who are here merely seeking a better life for their families? What is the answer and what by golly is the difference between undocumented immigrants and illegal immigrants? The FTP Fam explored all these issues & blew up the airwave! Take a listen if you dare! Tune in to hear FTP live, every Saturday at 5:00 PM (EST)
How many of us truly know the contributions of our Hispanic Americans Brothas & Sistahs? We all know Jennifer Lopez, Oscar De La Hoya,  Pitbull, and hopefully everybody knows Sonya Soto Mayer  but what do we know about those Hispanic Americans who contributed to our great nation’s existence? Did you know that at least 81 years before Christopher Columbus there was a Mexican settlement in Florida? Did you know the King of Spain extended credit to the American Colonists to help fund our fight against British Imperialism? Tune in and checkout FTP’s Special Tribute to Hispanic American heritage month!
This week on ...  For the People... law in plain language with Debra D. Rainey, Esq.  Don’t Tell Em, THE 5TH & 6TH Amendments! The 5th Amendment guarantees that citizens are entitled to a speedy and public trial, we may not be compelled to provide testimony or evidence  that tends to incriminate them In addition the 5th Amendment  prohibits the state from placing a person twice in jeopardy to name a few. The 6th Amendment provides that we citizens are entitled to counsel at trial, we have the right to call witnesses in our defense. But at the end of the day how do we apply these protections to our everyday life, how do we translate these rights? Tune in and check it out! This week on ... For the People... law in plain language with Debra D. Rainey, Esq. “Straight Outta G-town” Legal Q & A Straight Outta G-town with the FTP Fam was undoubtedly one of our most fun Legal Q & A shows.  Listeners from all over the country and Pennsylvania sent in questions and comments seeking legal information and showing love to FTP. Questions were asked about Mortgage Foreclosure, what to do and whether a citizen can sue Politicians and other leaders  for criminal activity. One woman wanted to know how she can get her hands on her deceased husband’s safe deposit box, another asked if there were laws that require regular citizens to voluntarily snitch and much more! The FTP Fam endeavored to DeBunk the Crack Baby Myth; Introduce the recreational Crack user and spill the beans about all of the  social, physical and emotional ills that go hand in hand  with crack cocaine.  Do you buy into the conspiracy theory that the government thru CIA’s Clandestine activities is responsible for crack flooding the inner cities and low income hoods? Do you believe the dealers, pushers and cartels bear the brunt of the responsibility since they are only motivated by the all mighty dollar? Or how about the addicts themselves, shouldn’t most of the blame fall on their shoulders, since according to some the addicts made a conscious choice to become an addict. PRISON BABIES, CHILDREN OF INCARCERATED PARENTS What are the challenges that face children whose parents, particularly the primary parental caretaker is incarcerated? What manner of sort exists for these children? Should Society  get more involved and step up to ensure that these children aren’t doing the time along with their parent(s)? The FTP Fam, along with Shari Ostrow Scher, President & Founder  of Children of Incarcerated Parents Partnership, (COIPP) discussed the trials and tribulations that children of incarcerated parents face in their daily lives. This week on ...  For the People... law in plain language with Debra D. Rainey, Esq.  I’s  Married Now Same Sex Marriage, Why all the noise! Surely people can't want our Constitution to be interpreted in any way that would legally permit any Americans, who are guaranteed Due Process of  and Equal Protection under our laws to be  denied the basic right to commit to that person they love! Why all the noise about Same Sex marriage? The truncated FTP Fam was joined by  Niche Adderly as we dissected the US  Supreme Court’s decision that prohibited all the 50 States from banning same sex couples from obtaining a marriage license.  A few listeners called in with their points of view.  One thing is certain the right of same sex couples to be legally married is no more paramount than folks’ religious beliefs for or against same sex marriage, they are different and mutually exclusive.  Tune into this episode, if you dare.  G-TOWN RADIO STUDIO LINE 215-609-4301 EMAIL: info@ftplawradio.com SATURDAYS  5-6:30 PM (EST) Note our new Date & Time Host: Debra D.
