Jesus final and departing words were spoken to his disciples in John chapter 14-17. The instruction to His disciples was the blue print of God's design for the church. Trouble will come to us all regardless of gender, faith, or social status. The most significant and important command that Jesus gave was to "love one another as He had love us." Jesus said people would know we are His disciples by our love. From the Gospel of John, chapter 13-17 were written in the last 24 hours of Jesus' life. Jesus begins to reveal to his disciples the plan for the church and their commission. We as Christians put so much emphasis on our performance and production for God. We can busy ourselves with serving in the church and attending church services. These are no doubt important but are secondary. God is looking for fruit but our fruit is a product of one thing. John 15 assures us how to produce much fruit. It is to "abide in Christ." God uses test in our lives to mold us and shape us. There is not a test we go through in life that is not without significance. Everything we have in life is not our own. It has been given by God. God has given us an assignment to steward "HIs stuff." In almost every aspect of life we are being tested. God test us to approve us so we accurately represent Him.
