If you have been following this podcast for a while you know that I believe in EIGHT Basic fundamentals. And the First of all the fundamentals is WE NEED A WORTHY GOAL. The goal is a very important part of the process of success. As I was watching college football over the holidays I made an observation. As both teams entered the field before the game – they both had the same goal - To WIN the game. BUT as we all know – only one team will achieve their goal. Also as we enter the NFL Post season there are a dozen or so teams that also have the same goal - To win the Super Bowl. BUT as we all know – only one team win the Superbowl this year. So if Goals are so important… And NOT every team can achieve their goal… There must be something else going on… Behind the scenes. And That is what I want to talk about and dissect.
As a leader of your people and your team… Have you ever tried to raise the standards in your restaurant… To get your people to do something new, or change a behavior… Or - do a certain thing – better… Or just take action on something that needs to be done. And you just can’t get it to happen… They won’t do it. Has that happened to you…? Have you or your managers - experienced this phenomenon in your restaurant..? With their employees..? Well – that is what we are going to talk about today…
This week I had a conversation with the new guy… I’m going to share the important part of that conversation with you… Today.
Do you want to change your life? Because if you do… I have a New Year’s Resolution FOR YOU… In fact I call it a New Life Resolution. And that is what we are going to talk about today.
Have you ever said something or done something to someone… maybe an employee or a manager or even a customer – or your spouse and they got - really pissed off… Then, you had to spend a LOT of time… like hours, days or weeks… Trying to walk it back or Un-Dig that hole - you dug with your words… or deeds. And even Then… in some cases – the other person never – really forgives you… I don’t know about you… maybe you are a perfect person, who has never offended anyone. But I can tell you – I sure have… I’ve been pissed off - and I have pissed off more - Than my share of people. And that’s what we are going to talk about today.
