Description

A podcast about getting through life with a differently shaped brain. My Good Bad Brain aims to build a space of solidarity and validation for the neurodiverse. We do this with honest explorations of life with mental health challenges, especially depression, anxiety, ADHD, and the general existential dread of being alive today. Soomehow, from this, a sense of invisible connection, community, and possibility arises.

It's just gotta be. For a while, indefinitely, maybe not ever, what's ever? IDK. Go ahead and listen and I talk through it. I also talk through some stuff around doomscroling and mental health in the main body of the pod but... yeah. It's time for this to rest a while. I love you all. Self care. Hydrate. Be well. Someone wrote a note asking about some severe heartbreak, they had heard the fuck breakups episode, and I jumped off of that. I kind of didn't address what they were talking about I realized after so I will return to that but hopefully there's stuff in here that resonates with you. come along and hang out with me and my good bad brain for a pretty lengthy chunky brain breather. We devoted this episode entirely to one listener's question about what lies after severe trauma. The listener was sexually abused by their father though most of their family has not acknowledged this. Recently their father died and the listener expressed they'd always felt the feelings of trauma would go away with him, but they have not. This is a heavy but very useful episode, we are very fortunate to have Dr. Nick Barr with his extensive experience as a traumatologist to speak to. I just want to say how much I deeply appreciate the listeners of this show who share their difficult experiences with everyone. It is very generous to share these stories so that others might also learn and heal from them. I hope you find something useful in this episode.
