Description
Welcome to the Amplify Archaeology Podcast. This podcast series seeks to introduce you to some of the key themes and exciting new projects in Irish archaeology. We will feature a series of interviews with a number of Ireland’s archaeologists and experts to gain new insights into life in the past, the key sites, places and periods and the practice of Irish Archaeology. In this series you'll hear news from the trenches of exciting excavations and discussions with experts who answer questions like; where did the first hunter gatherers come from? Who built passage tombs? What did people eat in the past? We'll also discuss the practice of archaeology, to show how we use scientific techniques to reconstruct past environments, how groups can work together on collaborative community projects, and how we tell the story of Ireland through its material culture. The AmplifyArchaeology podcast is presented by Neil Jackman, an archaeologist and director of Abarta Heritage. For more information please visit www.abartaheritage.ie

hosts voice is ok but guests voice is too quiet, needs to be amplified, ironically.
I remember alot of hopping of school in my late teens , getting the dart from Bray into town and spending hours in here blowing my mind , then strolling the streets about Christchurch and Dublin Castle getting as much free knowledge in ! All those days missed weren't for nothing ! Great stuff ...maybe an email to the bray medieval society , doing some great stuff in my old stomping ground . Some epic stories about the town ... alot going on at the edge of the pale . Hello from Australia! Eoin
really love your Podcast! incredibly interesting discussions.
great stuff here ! Found you through the hellfire club podcast on Irish history . living in Australia but always was fascinated with growing up in Wicklow and the living history around us . Spent my childhood walking all over north Wicklow and south Dublin . Any chance of dogs in and around bray , incredible deep history being on the border of the pale , with four castles in the town itself , charnwood , fassaroe , castle street at super value and one that was located above the dargle bridge , in close proximity to carrickmines castle. From an early age you knew this area had hidden histories . Get in contact with the bray medieval society , very interesting stories from them too!
