Description

Hi Folks, I’m Takota Coen, thank you for checking out the Building Your Homestead Podcast where I talk with expert guests about agriculture, health, economics, technology, philosophy, and other topics that I believe will help to peacefully exit the increasing tyranny of our world and start building a parallel system, one homestead at a time.

I started this podcast because I believe that the best way to fight the nefarious agents destroying our world is not with pandemonium, petitions, or pouting, but by ending our dependency on their systems that seek to keep us sick, broke and enslaved.

Whether you are still planning your exit strategy from the city, or you already have an established property, I hope these conversations will inspire you and give you the tools to live a life of freedom and abundance in partnership with nature.

Join regenerative farmer, author, and farming consultant, Takota Coen, live on Monday, September 30th at 1 PM CDT, to talk about what food independence really takes. In this interview we will discuss what rebellion really looks like, how to choose land and prepare for raising food animals, the practicality of growing food grains, what he thinks we’re facing in the years to come, and the spiritual side of living off of the land in harmony with the powers the naturally and abundantly support life.Takota's bio:Takota Coen was born and raised on a 250 acre regenerative farm in Alberta, Canada. In 2012 he quit his career as a carpenter when he realized that humanity was heading towards a dystopian nightmare and dedicated his life to help change that trajectory. In the years since he realized the best way to fight the nefarious agents destroying our world is not with pandemonium, petitions, or pouting, but by ending our own dependency on the systems that keep us sick, broke, and enslaved. He is a farmer, author, and co-founder of Building Your Homestead, a company whose mission is to help others to peacefully exit the increasing tyranny of our world and start building a parallel economy, one homestead at a time. You can find more about their homestead design services, mentorship, and free resources at www.BuildingYourHomestead.com. Join this wide-ranging discussion with Cal Washington (https://www.inpowermovement.org) and Alberta permaculture homesteader Takota Coen (https://www.buildingyourhomestead.com)Takota discusses how being a producer (rather than just a consumer) is the key to all of us building a future free from tyranny. Some universal permaculture concepts are discussed like invasive species, complementary crops, and soil building. Also includes a detailed discussion of money, crypto, and Bitcoin, and what a fair money of the future might look like. What about the immediate threat of Bill C-293 and other governmental threats? Takota is a fan of "tactical empathy" as outlined by Chris Voss in his book "Never Split the Difference". Maybe that's enough....Originally aired on ThatChannel.TV with Hugh Reilly on Friday October 4th, 2024.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/building-your-permaculture-property/donations

Stefan Sobkowiak operates a 12 acre farm of which 6-acres are in a permaculture orchard at Miracle Farms in Quebec. Sobkowiak originally bought the farm as a conventional 12 acre 4,000 tree monoculture apple orchard and immediately transitioned it to organic, but he quickly realized that an organic monoculture merely substitutes inputs from the conventional model. The alternative he created is a diverse polyculture that produces a wide variety of different fruits, berries and perennial herbs for u-pick membership customers. Sobkowiak is also an avid teacher, having taught at the university level and now popularly, through his Permaculture Orchard video, his online virtual orchard tour and his online pruning course.Find out more about Stefan at www.miracle.farm▶️ My farm https://www.coenfarm.ca ▶️ My consulting and book https://www.buildingyourgulch.comSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/building-your-permaculture-property/donations
