The Broken Fix

The Broken Fix

2022-12-2933:40

What happens when we are broken by a devastating event in our lives, and we just can’t seem to get “fixed.” I’ve done several podcasts on surviving cancer, but what happens to the rest of us when a loved one loses that battle? On today’s episode, Tony Wechsler interviews Celeste Bowers, and as you listen to her story, I hope you’ll find some hope and inspiration, especially as we have been celebrating the holidays. Celeste can be reached at her website - Mailboxinheaven.com or you can email her @celestembowers@gmail.com   As always, you are invited to join the Strive to Thrive Facebook group for a supportive community.... https://www.facebook.com/groups/strivetothrivepage BTW...If you love this episode, please take a screenshot, share it on your Facebook story and tag me @TonyWechsler
Several months ago, I went through a very difficult time. My ten year old cat, Mittens passed away suddenly due to complications from his diabetes, pancreatitis, and the vet discovering a cancerous tumor in his lungs. I had to make that devastating decision to say goodbye. With that in mind, I decided that it’s important to do an episode about this topic as so many people have to deal with this, and many people in our lives do not fully understand why we’re grieving so much. I was going to do this episode solo, but I decided to reach out to someone who also knows a lot about this topic. Today on the podcast, Tony Wechsler and Paige Rechtman are going to discuss, “Surviving the Loss of a Pet.” Paige can be reached at her website: https://paigerechtman.com/ Her book can be found at: https://amzn.to/4pRC55MAnd you can email her at: hello@paigerechtman.comAs always, you are invited to join the Strive to Thrive Facebook group for a supportive community.... https://www.facebook.com/groups/strivetothrivepage   BTW...If you love this episode, please take a screenshot, share it on your Facebook story and tag me @TonyWechsler And remember to download the eBook, Strive to Thrive at https://tonywcoaching.com/
As we go through life, people give us labels that can sometimes stick. You’re the middle child, the black sheep of the family, scatter-brained, or the person who’s always late. When we are labeled, we subconsciously live up to that behavior and that is not always good – especially if it’s a negative label. On today’s episode, Tony Wechsler and Kim Carter are going to discuss “Peeling off the labels to live your best life.” Kim can be reached at her website: https://www.thekoachingkorner.com/Or on Social Media: https://www.instagram.com/kimcartercoaching/https://www.linkedin.com/in/kim-carter-843462346/As always, you are invited to join the Strive to ThriveFacebook group for a supportive community.... https://www.facebook.com/groups/strivetothrivepage   BTW...If you love this episode, please take a screenshot, share it on your Facebook story and tag me @TonyWechsler And remember to download the eBook, Strive to Thrive at https://tonywcoaching.com/
Taking Time to Breathe

Taking Time to Breathe

We all live very fast paced lives. But so many of us are running on fumes, unaware that we’re depleted until we finally grind to a halt. As someone who works with a lot of burned out professionals, I see this all too often. So how can we stop….and take time to slow down before we crash and burn? On today’s episode, Tony Wechsler and Barbara Čuljak are going to talk about something we all need, especially during this busy holiday season. Today we’re talking about the importance of “Taking Time to Breathe.” Barbara can be reached on Instgram: https://www.instagram.com/barbaraculjak/As always, you are invited to join the Strive to ThriveFacebook group for a supportive community.... https://www.facebook.com/groups/strivetothrivepage   BTW...If you love this episode, please take a screenshot, share it on your Facebook story and tag me @TonyWechsler And remember to download the eBook, Strive to Thrive at https://tonywcoaching.com/
It’s Thanksgiving, and a time we give thanks for all our blessings. However, sometimes, it’s important to be thankful for the things we don’t often think about. Now, our "shadow self" is the unconscious, repressed, or rejected parts of our personality that we hide from ourselves and others. When we say be thankful for everything, shouldn’t this also include all of the parts of who we are? On today’s episode, Tony Wechsler and Matina Singh are going to discuss “Gratitude for the Shadows.”Matina can be found on Social Media: https://www.facebook.com/coachmatina https://www.instagram.com/singhmatina/Her website: https://www.matinasingh.com/And check out her podcast:https://open.spotify.com/show/3rBabzGZ7cjMPKCr8ackUWAs always, you are invited to join the Strive to ThriveFacebook group for a supportive community.... https://www.facebook.com/groups/strivetothrivepage   BTW...If you love this episode, please take a screenshot, share it on your Facebook story and tag me @TonyWechsler And remember to download the eBook, Strive to Thrive at https://tonywcoaching.com/
Most people are afraid to make mistakes, but what if your biggest mistake was actually your greatest opportunity to grow? It takes courage to admit your mistakes, learn from them, and reach out for help — but that’s what truly confident people do. Confidence isn’t about never falling… it’s about getting back up, learning, and growing stronger. On today’s episode, Tony Wechsler and Haley Scruggs are going to discuss, “More Mistakes for a More Confident You.”Haley can be reached at her website: https://haleyscruggs.com/ Or on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/haleyirenesingsAs always, you are invited to join the Strive to ThriveFacebook group for a supportive community.... https://www.facebook.com/groups/strivetothrivepage   BTW...If you love this episode, please take a screenshot, share it on your Facebook story and tag me @TonyWechsler And remember to download the eBook, Strive to Thrive at https://tonywcoaching.com/
Over the past few years, I’ve coached many people with regard to burnout. Sadly, most people try to push through it but this can make things worse by bringing on trauma. This trauma can dysregulate the body's stress response, making it even more susceptible to burnout creating a cycle of exhaustion and distress. This may not sound very “positive,” but we’re getting to that part. On today’s episode, Tony Wechsler and Lisa Manzo are going to discuss "The Link Between Burnout and Emotional Trauma” and how manage your nervous system before it manages you.Lisa can be reached at her website: https://thephoenixmind.com/ where you can check out her podcast: https://thephoenixmind.com/podcastOr on social media: https://www.facebook.com/lisa.manzo.lmAs always, you are invited to join the Strive to ThriveFacebook group for a supportive community.... https://www.facebook.com/groups/strivetothrivepage   BTW...If you love this episode, please take a screenshot, share it on your Facebook story and tag me @TonyWechsler And remember to download the eBook, Strive to Thrive at https://tonywcoaching.com/
Have you ever noticed that whenever we’re going through a difficult situation in life, there’s never a shortage of really bad advice. This is especially true when it comes to relationships and marriage. Everyone wants to tell us what we should do, but even when they have our best interests in mind, we need to really be mindful of what they are saying. On today’s episode, Tony Wechsler and Monica Tanner are going to talk about “Really Bad Marriage Advice.” Monica is the author of the book, "Bad Marriage Advice: Debunking Myths That Will Make You Miserable and What To Do Instead" You can find it on Amazon or get your copy here: https://www.badmarriageadvice.com/join-the-waitlistFeel free to reach out to Monica or check out her website: https://www.monicatanner.com/And her podcast: https://www.monicatanner.com/contenthubAs always, you are invited to join the Strive to ThriveFacebook group for a supportive community.... https://www.facebook.com/groups/strivetothrivepage   BTW...If you love this episode, please take a screenshot, share it on your Facebook story and tag me @TonyWechsler And remember to download the eBook, Strive to Thrive at https://tonywcoaching.com/
When you’re driving a car and your low fuel light goes on, it means that you better get to a gas station and fuel up before you break down. But on a personal level, "running on fumes" also means that you don't even have the energy for doing things, but you are doing them anyways. You are exhausted and you need to fuel up quickly before you completely break down. In both life and business, many of us are running on fumes and looking for a way to fill up. On today’s episode, Tony Wechsler and Sadia Hameed are going to discuss “the hidden trap of running on fumes." Journal to SHINE

Journal to SHINE

To shine is to give off a bright, glowing light. Your porch light shines at night, and if the sky is clear and cloudless, the moon will shine too. Now, a shining personality describes someone who is exceptionally positive, enthusiastic, and radiant, often having a compelling and attractive charisma that draws others in and inspires those around them. We can learn to shine in many ways, but I doubt if you thought of journaling to shine. Well, you’re in for a treat. On today’s episode, my new friend Janet and I are going to discuss how to Journal to shine. Every new year I have a word to represent my goals and intentions for that year. For 2026, my word is Freedom. Imagine what it would be like to have the freedom to do what you want with no limits. Along with freedom, there’s also fulfillment. Fulfillment is a feeling of happiness and satisfaction. It also signifies the completion of something, like the fulfillment of a promise. Freedom and fulfillment are an amazing combination. Today on the podcast, Tony Wechsler and Anna Chen are going to discuss, "Finding Freedom and Fulfilment." Investment is defined as the commitment of resources into something expected to gain value over time. When we invest our money, we do so because we are expected to gain in the future. Money is tangible, but let’s not forget, things like the knowledge and skills that you’ve developed, the friends and colleagues you’ve connected with, and even the challenges you’ve overcome all feed into your ability to generate those financial assets. All come from your own experience. On today’s episode, Tony Wechsler and Erik Forrester are going to discuss "Experience as Your Greatest Investment."You may remember Erik from his previous episode about Turning Obstacles into Opportunities.
