Living in A town, a Latch Key kid, meeting my mom Ms. Ofie at Wood Middle school, to hitting the club scene as a Club Security manager to a Party Promoter. We discuss death in it's many forms to his personal path to his son passing away in 2023. He suffered mental illness and addiction by over dose from fentanyl. He then drew inspiration from that and ran 100 miles in honor of him. And filmed it with a short film documentary called, “Ryan’s Run”. She shared her childhood, family, experiences at school, The people that inspired her, and the story to how she ended up winning the award. Shouts out to Wood Middle school for keeping my mother's spirit alive for 25 years and blessing the kids that have been honored the accolades and flowers to move into their next chapter in life.

It's been 32 years since my mother had passed. And Alameda's Wood middle school has honored my mother every year and my family has presented this award to a student who has flourished, improved in the grades and had a positive impact on everyone they touched. Rest in peace our dear Annie Valdez who had passed at the age of 91.
