While change is inevitable, that doesn’t mean it’s easy. This week, you’ll ask yourself the question: How do I approach change? Things don’t always go as planned, and this episode unpacks the ways we can handle the changes that come up in our lives. The best leaders are able to understand, process, and respond thoughtfully to changes.
On today's podcast episode, we're talking about gaslighting and how it shows up at work. First, we'll unpack the definition of gaslighting. Then, we'll explore some common behaviors/characteristics of a gaslighter in the workplace.  To connect with Dr. D:  Check out her website here Enroll in her Career Refresh Program here Follow her on Instagram here
This week's episode continues last week's conversation about rejection being an opportunity for redirection in our lives. How are you framing the no’s that come into your life? Facing rejection never feels good, but our perspective can create opportunity for change. We can change our view of the situation if we shift to learn from the no's that come our way.  To book a Power Hour: https://www.tamaradias.com/powerhour Follow me on Instagram: @drtamarawdias
When was the last time you looked at your daily habits and routines? Most of us will set goals, but we fail to create routines that support them. Then, we get discouraged, quit, and repeat the cycle with a new goal. You need strong routines, and on this episode I share how you can create them.  This week's pearl of wisdom comes from Octavia Butler: “Forget inspiration. Habit is more dependable. Habit will sustain you whether you’re inspired or not.” To book a Power Hour: https://www.tamaradias.com/powerhour Follow me on Instagram: @drtamarawdias
Over 80% of people (according to research) have quit their New Year's resolution at this point in the year. If you are in that number, it's not too late. You can still work towards those goals, and you have plenty of time left this year to make progress. Join me this week as I share how I'm keeping motivation (despite wanting to quit sometimes) and how you can approach the rest of your 2022.  To book a Power Hour: https://www.tamaradias.com/powerhour Follow me on Instagram: @drtamarawdias
Being a leader is kind of like juggling at a circus, except you're juggling 100 sticks at once and half of them are on fire. Leadership requires you to not only manage others, but you also have to manage yourself. That's why it's no surprise that many leaders struggle with managing all the projects and tasks on their plates. This week, I'm sharing how I approach my day-to-day responsibilities and how you can add more structure into your daily routine.  To book a Power Hour: https://www.tamaradias.com/powerhour Follow me on Instagram: @drtamarawdias

Embracing the Now

We've all been there. We have those times in our lives where things aren't what we'd want them to be. In fact, if we could, we'd likely blink and transport ourselves to some alternate universe. This week, I share how my own struggles with navigating changes during the pandemic reminded me to find the joy in uncomfortable times. Most importantly, I share the reminder that we can all be a little more kind to ourselves and appreciate who we are in this moment.  To book a Power Hour: https://www.tamaradias.com/powerhour Follow me on Instagram: @drtamarawdias
Here’s the stats: 83% of US workers suffer from work-related stress and US businesses lose up to $300 billion yearly as a result of workplace stress. So why aren’t we talking about this more? Whether you’re dealing with stress yourself or you’re leading a team where your colleagues are stressed - we all need to consider the impact of stress in our lives. In this episode, I’ll share my own experience with stress in leadership and how I learned to prioritize my wellness. Trust is one of the top motivating factors in the workplace. Yet, in a study from the Harvard Business Review reported that nearly 50% of employees rate their companies/organizations below average when it comes to trust. This week, I’m sharing how leaders can create environments that cultivate trust to improve their organizational climate.  To book a Power Hour: https://www.tamaradias.com/powerhour Follow me on Instagram: https://instagram.com/drtamarawdias
According to research by OneLogin, 77% of leaders deal with work-related stress on a consistent basis. That likely means that most leaders are bringing stress into other non-work areas of their lives. In this episode, we continue to talk about our unique personality types and how we respond in stressful situations. I'll also share some questions you can ask during tense moments to self-assess where you are.  To book a Power Hour: https://www.tamaradias.com/powerhour Follow me on Instagram: @drtamarawdias
Have you ever worked with a leader who couldn’t lead others? Maybe they were great at performing their job requirements, but couldn’t navigate building relationships or communicating with others. Or perhaps they just didn't know how to manage a team. You’re not alone! This week, I’m sharing about the DiSC assessment and how I used this tool to help me navigate relationships in the workplace. According to some estimates, less than 8% of people stick with their New Year's resolutions. This often puts us in a space of guilt and shame when we aren't able to accomplish what we wanted. This week, I'm sharing how you can set intentions for the year and drop some of that guilt. I highlight the importance of compassion, especially during the pandemic, and how intentions free us from the shame of failing.  Book a Power Hour with me: https://www.tamaradias.com/powerhour

Do you find it hard to be fully present on vacations away from work? A 2018 study from LinkedIn found that 70% of people struggle with unplugging from work, and that over 60% will email or contact a colleague who is out on vacation. If you find yourself blurring the lines and working even when you're out of the office - this episode for you.  Book a power hour session with me: https://www.tamaradias.com/powerhour Follow me on Instagram or Twitter: @drtamarawdias

If you were to give a survey and ask most 9-5 employees how important transparency is to them, they'd likely rank it high on their list of attributes. Yet, according to the American Psychological Association, only 52 percent of workers believe their employer is open and upfront with them. Yikes! Transparency not only allows you to cultivate meaningful relationships in the workplace, but it also plays a major role in employee retention. On this episode, I share my experiences in dealing with not-so-transparent leaders, and I share a few suggestions as to how you can be more transparent in your leadership.
How are you defining success for yourself in your career? If you search the internet for how the dictionary defines success, you'll get a ton of different options. If you ask your friends how they define success, you'll likely get a variety of responses. That's why it's so important for you to get clear on what success looks like for you. This week's episode highlights a few questions you can ask yourself to get clear on your own, personal definition of success in your life.
Many of us have struggled with time management at one point. We try to manage our growing task lists and often find ourselves drowning in to-do lists. I’m sharing a few suggestions I’ve used in my own day-to-day time management, including a short glimpse into my thoughts about a “work-life” balance.
In an annual survey last year, 61% of participants ended the year with unused PTO. The report also estimated that Americans left billions of hours of PTO on the table at the conclusion of the year. Do you fall into that 61% of people? If you do, then this episode is for you! We’re talking all things PTO, vacations, and sustainability this week.
