Yesterday I had the good fortune to speak with John Astin on Unspeakable Bliss.  We tapped into how investigating the nature of our present moment experience can end personal human suffering and help us to navigate some of the most challenging emotions that arise in our lives...and so much more.  In joy About John Astin: He is the author of four books, exploring the nature of human experience—Too Intimate for Words (2005), This Is Always Enough (2008), Searching for Rain in a Monsoon (2012) and This Extraordinary Moment (2018). He is also a singer, songwriter and recording artist having produced seven CDs of original spiritual-contemplative music. Along with his teaching, writing and music, John holds a PhD in health psychology and is an internationally acclaimed scholar in the field of mind-body medicine, his research focusing on the applications of meditative-contemplative practices in psychology and health care. He is presently an adjunct professor of clinical/counseling psychology at Santa Clara and Notre Dame de Namur Universities Last and certainly most, he is a lover of existence.  You can join his zoom meetings, retreat offerings and check out more about him and his work at his website https://johnastin.com/ His twitter and instagram handles are @thisisalwaysit
My dear friend David DuMoulin and I have been having epic conversations for the last 3 years and I can't tell you how many times we have both said, "I wish we recorded that."  Too many times, that's how many!  Well, guess what...?  We finally recorded a conversation worthy of a 'podcast' sharing a few days back and I am stoked to share it with you all!   He and I met in Rishikesh, India at a yoga teacher training in December 2019 and now he happens to be my neighbor here in Costa Rica so we had the good fortune of having this conversation in person.       We talked about coming into a fuller psychological individuation and simultaneously being integrated with the whole through various pathways such as making meaning from suffering, spiritual/emotional growth pains, the subtle art of what to give our valuable and limited f*cks to, self investigation, healthy emotional co-regulation,  the yoga of relationship, meditation, coaching and mucho more.      We also went into a variety of other topics including how the non-dual understanding can be misapplied and misunderstood, spiritual bypassing, untying codependency, shamanism as a reflection of innate healing, connecting with your infinite amount of twin flames, experience as the only pathway to genuine realization, overcoming the guru trip, tribal accountability and leaning into challenging experiences with curiosity.   Enjoy!    About David: He has extensive experience exploring consciousness through meditation, plant medicine, and relationship. He has deep interest and talent in the art of curiosity and discovery through conversation which has led him to his work in psycho-spiritual integration coaching -- especially focused on exploring the topics of conscious relating, preparation for and integration of transformational experiences including psychedelics, and addiction recovery.  You can connect with David here  https://www.facebook.com/david.dumoulin.543   For those interested in joining Living Truth 2.0 mentioned in this podcast here is the link with more information...  https://www.facebook.com/1035000710/posts/pfbid05zpab8u4j4chcwAXZtJf5LNdgGj81THdgACcBM3y1CsQt4FkdJomLPs1NdyosyJLl/?mibextid=ZYFYyJ    And more recently I launched a 'Body•Mind•Being• Wellness Transformation Challenge'.  Information on that can be found through the above link, it is the most recent pinned post on both IG and FB.

For those yet to schedule a ‘creation call’ please listen to this in its entirety first.   https://youtu.be/q5tEeC_TKQY This will serve as a basis for our call.  When we have our call, make sure you are in a grounded space, able to fully listen to yourself and to be fully present to our conversation.  Give yourself at least two hours for our conversation, one hour for us and one hour for yourself afterwards.  Between our call and watching the above, that is an investment of 3.5 hours if your time.  That’s the minimum commitment to create in this way with me, if you can’t commit to that, this is not for you.   https://calendly.com/creatingwithchristopher/oo *You’ll see 90 minutes blocked out for call times, however it may well be much shorter than that. When it is fulfilled, this will be obvious to both of us.

I recently had the joy of talking with Anna Brown on Unspeakable Bliss Podcast.  Anna shares the paradoxical and extra-ordinary nature of being that is alive in us all. She left me nearly speechless (fittingly Unspeakable) a few times especially when she said.. “All that seems to drop within one self is dogma, rule books, bibles. You return to beginners mind, you return to the child like wonder you are, but here is the beautiful part, you’re ancient simultaneously. So you’re still fresh as a new born babe and yet you’re as old as f88king dirt. But it’s right here, right now. It’s not something you need to recall from a book, it’s just coming out of the wellspring of yourself because you are source, you are everything, so of course you have access to all the wisdom, and yet, because you’re the void, nothing, you’re as fresh as a baby. You can meet everyone where they’re at, you can meet this day fresh and new because you don’t have the memory of yesterday anymore clinging to you.” Truly, what can I respond to That? Nothing, anything and everything, that’s what ;) I hope you enjoy this podcast episode as much as I did. Meet and connect with Anna through her website and YouTube channel. https://www.wonderfullynothing.com/ https://www.youtube.com/c/AnnaBrown/

'It' is all you.
Part 2 of this mini series on meaning, freedom & joy.  Today I went over just 4 reflections and quotes because of how 'extra' - ordinary and profound these insights are.  Here's the synopsis on what was covered. #12 An experiential dive 'into' the singular subjective field of awareness that I call 'consciousness' and how this is an antidote to humanities' problems  #13 Trusting nature, and our part in it, in the face of a culture overflowing with depression, anxiety, and addiction #14 Why we appear separate, but why we are actually one appearing as many.  #15 Debatably the best quote every by Albert Einstein on compassion, wholeness, and beauty.
Over the last two days I dove into my journal entries from the last year to see what I've learned, what I haven't, and how I can further inject these teachings into my life.   I extracted the most potent quotes and lessons and turned them into a 4 part podcast series on Unspeakable Bliss.  I encourage you to listen to video podcast as I include contemplations and stories giving deeper context to each lesson and most importantly how the lessons apply in everyday life.  Here's a taste of the first 11 lessons  #1 Pablo Picasso's life and business philosophy for those suffering from 'the starving artist' complex #2 My contemplation on living a peaceful life instead of constantly rushing around to the next thing, and the next thing, and the next thing... #3 Wayne Dyer's strategy for taking the path of least resistance #4 Bernardo Kastrup relating the idea that suffering is the parent of immense meaning in life #5 The Heart Sutra from the Bodhisattva of Compassion  #6 My understanding of Balyani's text 'Know Yourself; An Explanation on the Oneness of Being' #7 My paradoxical inquiry on how to open one's eyes without them having been closed #8 Gratitude's power to find the most in the least of circumstances #9 How to create what you desire with just the right amount of spaciousness and pressure #10 Indian saint, Anandamayi Ma's words on serving God in all  #11 My antidote to Henry David Thoreau's sight of a world led in quite desperation Part 2 coming soon
