Welcome to episode 48 of the Messy Truths podcast! In this episode, the ladies explore Reddit, one of Mar's favourite apps. Particularly the r/confessions subreddit where people unveil their most vulnerable confessions on the interweb. Nesha and Mar get vulnerable and give a confession of their own before they and Azar reads some salacious posts on the air. Do you like confessions? Are you a fan of Reddit? This show has the best of both and some of the posts are pretty wild. For example: An engaged woman confesses that she is turned on by her physiotherapist. An Afro-Latina woman confesses her thoughts on skin complexion. A person confesses that they are tired of their girlfriend, but refuses to leave the relationship. A Redditor talks about their experience microdosing on magic mushrooms.  A boyfriend admits to catfishing his girlfriend.  A heterosexual male in a relationship always seems to find himself masturbating when looking at his male neighbour.   Listen to the entire show for these confessions and much more! 2022-11-1701:09:50

In episode 47 of the Messy Truths Podcast, Azar, Mar and Nesha reflect on how they navigated their messy single lives as adolescents, and in their 20s, 30s and 40s. They also provide the results of their field research from speaking with younger people they know, and reveal what some of them require in a partner today.  How long can you stay single? What standards do you look for in a partner? According to the high school students of Nesha's school, being employed or smart isn't a priority (2:10). Azar asks what standards and types of boyfriends the ladies had as teens, which leads to some interesting revelations from Nesha about her long-term relationship (6:06).  Mar asks the ladies what standards they had as single women in their 20s. She also reveals the feedback she received from her nieces and friends in their 20s and 30s, including height, hygiene and education (18:26).  The ladies all agree maturity blossoms in the 30s (41:56). Mar talks about what being single was like at that time, including what she calls her "fat phase" (47:38). Azar reveals a bit about changes she faced as a new mom and after hitting 40. This leads to a conversation about the challenge of being single past 40 and into the 50s when people have much more life experience under their belt (50:32).  Can you date someone that's been divorced multiple times? What's the maximum number of kids the person you're dating can have? How much does financial stability matter in a potential mate?  Listen to the entire show for these topics and much more! Messy Revolutions

Messy Revolutions

2022-11-0301:15:40

With so much social unrest in the world, the ladies felt compelled to dedicate episode 46 of the Messy Truths Podcast to the subject of revolutions. From the anti-government protests in Iran, to the Black Lives Matter movement, the ladies dive into what a revolution really means and how rights for one group sometimes results in the diminishing of rights for others. Politics. Protests. Revolutions. It's all messy! Azar kicks things off by providing an overview of how outrage over the detainment and killing of Jina Amini (Mahsa Amini) sparked the recent global protests against the government of Iran (3:05). Nesha explains what it means to be an activist and revolutionist (19:34) and that leads to the topic of discrimination in Canada. Mar touches briefly on Quebec's recent passing of Bill 21, which bans civil servants in Quebec from wearing religious symbols while working for the government (26:35).  Nesha speaks on how women's fashion and afrocentric hairstyles have been revolutionary (40:10). Azar then asks if there has really been significant change since the Black Lives Matter protests (42:27). Additionally, Mar shares why she is not always a supporter of using social media as a tool for protesting in western nations (1:02:40). This episode is dedicated to Jina Amini, and so many others who have lost their lives unnecessarily to systemic oppression.  ********** If you like this episode, here are some others you might enjoy directly on our website: Messy Celebrity Makeup Stories with Nikki    Somatic Sex Therapy with Chiara   Album Reviews | It's Better than Drake    Adulting is Hard Pt. 2   Love Sessions: Married at First Sight with Sex Therapist Charlene Douglas   ********** Connect! Get ready for a wild, music-themed game edition episode of Messy Truths hosted by Azar. This week, the ladies played Lyrically Correct, a black-owned, 90s and 2000s hip-hop and R&B trivia game that brought out the fiercest competition from all participants.  The hostesses were joined by very special guest singer, songwriter and producer, August Rigo, who is the magic behind the biggest names in music today (e.g. BTS, Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, Ginette Claudette, Kehlani, and One Direction). This was a crazy episode! Nesha joined the podcast from London and she might have been just a tad drunk. Mar got a little hostile and cray, cray.
