Messy Single Life
Description
In episode 47 of the Messy Truths Podcast, Azar, Mar and Nesha reflect on how they navigated their messy single lives as adolescents, and in their 20s, 30s and 40s. They also provide the results of their field research from speaking with younger people they know, and reveal what some of them require in a partner today.
How long can you stay single? What standards do you look for in a partner? According to the high school students of Nesha's school, being employed or smart isn't a priority (2:10 ). Azar asks what standards and types of boyfriends the ladies had as teens, which leads to some interesting revelations from Nesha about her long-term relationship (6:06 ).
Mar asks the ladies what standards they had as single women in their 20s. She also reveals the feedback she received from her nieces and friends in their 20s and 30s, including height, hygiene and education (18:26 ).
The ladies all agree maturity blossoms in the 30s (41:56 ). Mar talks about what being single was like at that time, including what she calls her "fat phase" (47:38 ). Azar reveals a bit about changes she faced as a new mom and after hitting 40. This leads to a conversation about the challenge of being single past 40 and into the 50s when people have much more life experience under their belt (50:32 ).
Can you date someone that's been divorced multiple times? What's the maximum number of kids the person you're dating can have? How much does financial stability matter in a potential mate?
