In the past four NBA seasons, Only two players have won the NBA award Giannis Antetokounmp & Nikola Jokic. Not only have they been recipients of back to back NBA MVP, but by a landslide. With a quarter 2023 NBA season it’s clear this may be one the most balanced and intriguing MVP races the NBA fans have witness. With the help of JB from @bball.playbook we break down how to measure an NBA and what the fan fare tells us about past MVP winners. In this episode, we ask JB from bball playbook Why isn’t Carmelo signed? What’s your definition of an MVP? Why hasn’t Devin Booker garner more attention? Is Jayson Tatum MVP race as legitimate with Jaylen Brown playing great? Can Kevin Durant lead Brooklyn to a 1-2 seeded team? Unfortunately many teams have had to deal with some tough injuries as of late, losing streaks and lack of momentum. And some teams have made huge strides towards eastern and western conference seedings. NBA teams are now in the position to make a push, fight for home court advantage and establish rotations that work. Bogdan Bogdanović SG for Atlanta Hawks recently came out and said this “Everybody likes to start but I like to finish the games more. Honestly.” In this episode we discuss injuries, teams who may be hitting the panic button soon and recent wins from surprising ball clubs. This is a long NBA season, so there’s still time to figure it out! After our last post game breakdown, we felt the need to bring a true Philly fan to the hoops galore conversation to give us a breakdown of the 76ers situation. Currently the 76ers rank 26TH overall in points, 29TH overall in rebounding and 24TH overall in assist.  We had to bring a Philly fan into this conversation. An undeniably talented team but with injuries piling up, a new set of rotational players, and the nonstop coaching conversation: What should NBA fans expect from the 76ers this season? Ben Simmons has been a hot topic for all the wrong reasons the last two seasons. And we aren't here to add on to the current narratives. But we sit down to acknowledge what we've seen from Ben Simmons in a Nets uniform and explore what could turn things around for the Ben. Whether it's been coaches and or players the team has been asked about Ben a few times publicly and everyone continues to have high hopes. With Ben working on returning to form from injury the consistency in minutes has been a factor and he is on record talking about getting his knee drained. Could injury be holding him back? Has he faced his fears on the court? - Join us as we discuss Ben Simmons situation in detail!  Nonetheless we wish Ben the best basketball family! We are joined in this conversation by Jarvis! As of November 19th, 2022 the Philadelphia 76ers are averaging 108.6 ppg ranking them 27th overall. Joel Embiid is leading them in scoring at 32ppg, 10 rpg and field goal percentage 52.1%. A lot to take in looking at these numbers.  Unfortunately our post game reaction to this cant be done without mentioning their are some key names missing on both sides including: James Harden, Tobias Harris, and Tyrese Maxey who left this game after rolling his ankle for Philadelphia. While Kris Middleton and Joe Ingles remains sidelined for the Bucks. Down the line we are sure both teams will get healthy and look much different down the stretch. Nonetheless both teams remain contenders and will end up with playoff seedings. We would love to hear some feedback on either team, email us at hoopsgalorepodzj@gmail.com As we continue to grow we have some exciting news! We are bringing more eyeballs and attention to Darius Garland PG of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Drafted 5th overall in the 2019 NBA draft.  If you take a look at any of his High school tapes its very clear Darius Garland was a one of a kind playmaker. And showed a great balance of when to score and when to pass. The Darius Garland we witness today has been putting his tools on display since 2018 at the NIKE EYBL and McDonalds All American debuts. There is no stage too big for Darius Garland. And Koby Altman has built a strong team in Cleveland. If you haven't watched Darius Garland play here's what to expect:  An ideal point guard who plays under control with quickness (doesn't force plays) Explosive first step, can get to his spots unbothered Elite playmaker, craft passes, lobs, no look passes you name it Darius Garland can get it done Plays extremely well on and off the ball dynamic force  Can shoot with the best of them, pull up for a 3pt shot at will. High percentage 3pt shooter Love his game, hope you give Darius a closer look!  Inquiries/Media Email us at: hoopsgalorepodzj@gmail.com Connect with us on Twitter @hoopsgalorepod https://twitter.com/Hoopsgalorepod Follow us on Instagram @hoops_galorepod https://www.instagram.com/hoops_galorepod/

In today's NBA, fans are spoiled with today's generational talent. Leaving fans and young athletes often wondering: How? Last night Darius Garland scored 51 points vs the Minnesota Timberwolves connecting for 10 3’s! But how many players out there study Darius Garlands game? Should you study his game? We won’t get to answer that question in this episode but we will share 10 NBA players who are worth studying based on basketball IQ, play making, scoring ability, body management, individual success, team success and skill. Early this morning we spoke to Ralph Nazaire known as @e.zaire about who young basketball players should mirror their games after. As a performance coach and speed trainer working with different athletes is part of his work to understand different playing styles. A few honorable mentions in this episode include Trae Young, Kyle Lowry, Marcus Smart, Stephen Curry, Andre Miller & Allen Iverson. We explicitly chose players 6’0-6’4 and stayed away from players with the unicorn tag. A lot of NBA players are just 1 of 1, and we should honor their unique greatness. Will we ever see a player shoot like Curry? Play like KD or score like Kobe? - The chances are slim. But there are so many NBA players out there that have had tons of individual and team success on the biggest stage in basketball. This is just part one, we’ll definitely follow up this conversation in the future! This offseason we saw some teams pull off surprising trades. We witness Rudy Gobert get traded for 5 first round picks, and teams get back doored by Cleveland for an all-star Donovan Mitchell. The New York Knicks fanbase will always feel the sting of the 2022 NBA offseason. And if that wasn't enough crazy news this summer, arguably the best player in the NBA Kevin Durant asked for a trade from the Brooklyn Nets. The league had nothing close to a quiet summer and tons of distractions.  Just maybe we let that cloud our judgement on teams who were set up for success? - That's why we brought on Solo to give us some sound predictions. Zidany gave on east contender who probably isn't getting a ton of buy in right now because of the emergence of the Atlanta Hawks. But all teams mentioned in this conversation is worth talking about! - Hope you enjoy the episode, and we'll revisit these picks in the near future Solo joining us for a conversation about the surprising teams off to a hot start in this years 2022 NBA season.  You can follow @papisolo on Twitter https://twitter.com/PapiSoloTweets Inquiries/Media Email us at: hoopsgalorepodzj@gmail.com Connect with us on Twitter @hoopsgalorepod https://twitter.com/Hoopsgalorepod
Zidany breaks down a player we should keep an eye on this season drafted from the University of Miami Lonnie Walker This season Lonnie Walker is averaging 32.4 minutes per game, 16.5 points and 31.8% from the 3 in his starting role for the Lakers. He has kept the Crypto.com arena on their feet with his electric dunks and athleticism. Zidany said it best, if you are a Lebron fan you are always looking who's next to him. In our next episode we have Solo joining us for a conversation about the surprising teams in this years 2022 NBA season. Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Celtics in this one 114-113. This was an extremely competitive games, with some questionable calls that had everyone on their feet.  A game where we saw Darius Garland return to the lineup after suffering an eye injury in the October 19, 2022 season opener against the Toronto Raptors. Darius Garland went down in that one after an accidental swipe from Gary Trent Jr. But man oh man, Darius Garland came back after a few weeks of being sidelined, and contemplating surgery putting his game on display. Had defenders on skates, played to the strength of the team, and look unbothered there. Darius finished the game with 29 points, 12 assist & 5-11 for 3PT. Keep an eye on the Cleveland Cavaliers this season after a huge backdoor trade for Donovan Mitchell. The duo looked great out there!  Inquiries/Media Email us at: hoopsgalorepodzj@gmail.com Connect with us on Twitter @hoopsgalorepod https://twitter.com/Hoopsgalorepod

This season is off to an exciting start, with tons of new rising stars. And a few players taking advantage of playing in a new uniform. Sometimes what it takes is a new system, new coach, new philosophy and different playing style.  While this has been on a small sample size of NBA action just about 8 games in; the high level play from a few guys are hard to ignore. One NBA player who has played phenomenal on both sides of the court is Bol Bol with the Orlando Magic. We knew something special was brewing when Terrence Ross spoke highly of Bol Bol during the 2022 training camp and gushed over his unique skill set. Bol Bol is averaging on 11.1 points, 2.6 blocks and 7.4 rebounds on 65% shooting from the field. Keep mind Bol Bol is seeing about 21 minutes of NBA action.  There's a handful players showing us impactful and elite play this year. We'll cover six rising stars in the next episode.  We would love to hear your feedback on some NBA players you would for us to keep an eye out for this season and cover their game. Back with another post game breakdown after the Final Buzzer! Sundays NBA action included two of the most skilled big men to enter the NBA. This game was a great mix of familiar talent and young guys. Both teams were hunting for a win, and Los Angeles Lakers win this one 121-110. In this one, Zidany talks about how Anthony Davis outplays Jokić in Los Angeles. Michael Porter Jr. hit back to back 3's at the start of this game, and showed us a glimpse of his shooting in the first quarter. But all in all Denver lacked the playmaking and depth in this one to overcome the Lakers. We will be keeping a close eye on these teams moving forward and hope to see great basketball from both clubs. This game was played at the Crypto.com Arena in Downtown Los Angeles on October 30, 2022.  For business inquiries contact us at hoopsgalorepodcastzj@gmail.com
