Description

Hi! I'm Rafaela, Carry On's host!

Carry On Luggage is a podcast that discusses people's identities, careers, and experiences in the context of a global, international, and ever-changing world.

The podcast's name comes from the fact that we carry baggage (literal and emotional: from clothes to past experiences and even prejudices) that shape our choices and journey.

I hope you enjoy listening to these episodes as much as I enjoy recording them!

Hi everyone! Welcome to today's episode of Carry On Luggage! I'm your host, and today, we will be talking all about Taylor Swift. Surprise! I am a (very proud) Swiftie! I've even dressed up as her for a party where we were all meant to wear something that started with our initials despite my name being Rafaela (in my defense, I was dressed as Red (Taylor's Version))! Anyway, enjoy this episode where I discuss how much all her music means to me. Oh, and we also talk about how pop music and pop culture can reflect economic and political theory. You know, just some basic things. Of course, this is cooking and coping, so there is a special recipe at the start of the episode. Yup, if you are a big Swiftie like me, you may have guessed it: Taylor's Chai Cookies! Hi everyone! Welcome to Season 2 of Carry On Luggage! These next five episodes will be all about cooking (my absolute new favorite hobby) and our relationships with food and the kitchen! In this first episode, I tell a little bit about myself and my own relationship with food and how it has changed over the years! Here is my Banana Bread Recipe (adapted from SchecksEats with a few changes): Ingredients: 3 ripe bananas (plus one for decoration) 5 of melted butter 1 teaspoon baking soda Pinch of salt 3/4 cup of Honey 1 egg 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 and 1/2 cups (200g) all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Method: Preheat the oven to 350 Fahrenheit or 180 Celcius. In a medium bowl, mash up 3 bananas, then add the ingredients in the given order. Bake the mixture in an 8-inch by 4-inch loaf pan. Wait until cooled to slice. Here is the original SchecksEats recipe: https://scheckeats.com/dr-hogewoods-banana-bread/ Thank you so much for listening!
