It can be very demanding on our minds, living the life we live. The brain is constantly stimulated, creating a really powerful changing lifestyle. Sometimes one that can be overwhelming. We are witnessing that people are suffering with more and more mental health challenges, this is something we need to address and manage. We are in a place that allows us to commit to running but, do we want to talk about what performance means, do we want to engage in what it means to embrace getting better. Minority communities are especially underrepresented at start lines, this is what Leon and I discuss. We open up on what it means to be representative on the start line. Hosted on Acast. In an ever changing world, with more and more emphasis on pushing our bodies, we should still remember that there are exercise principles we should try and keep in our view as we train. It has been an extensive hiatus, we are at the stage that we need to make a comeback, it has been too long!I found that I was missing talking to you all and so we are back on the podcast, discussing find the edge, a woman's performance project that I have been priviliged to be a part of. A real trail blazer of a group. Something that has really fuelled alot of my thoughts recently, especially around specificity and individualisation. The group of women have been working for 14months leading towards the Nike After Dark race this Sunday the 23rd. We are in a genrational change and evolution of women's sport. It's exciting to see. It is rarely in life when you meet someone and they really make you wonder what are you doing. David smith had that impact on me, he pulls you out of your worries and troubles. He makes you realise that you are just here for a short period of time. You can and will be needed to in moments, you will need to be there for yourself. This conversation is delicate and strong as David reveals his 6 cancer surgeries and persistent brushes with death. He feels that pressure of life and how much of things are here for us to respond to. We can live better through action and inaction but making sure we hold down values true to us. Thank you David smith. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
This conversation is a perfect follow up to the conversation on ensuring you get the right nutrients. This is all about developing a deeper understanding of what happens to our bodies when we do the correct things. The body will require support to do the things that we require it to do, it sounds simple but so many of us can sometimes not have enough fuel to complete the tasks that we require. Dr Nicky Keay specialises in helping people who find it difficult to balance their input vs their output. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
It is apparent from conversations that the nutritional balance and unlock is difficult, the key thing is that people will try to find the simplest solution to their nutrion. At times not even eating, this is part of modern culture. We are over run and Jeffrey and I discuss that we need to be intentional with what we do. It is difficult but possible. Jeffrey has built an online community and has a great ethos on living and eating intentionally. Please let us know what you think with a review. Hosted on Acast.
