Hey guys so today is another episode of The Joey Lifestyle Podcast today we'll be talking about why my favorite season is summer.
In this episode, Joey Morin discusses the importance of creativity and adaptation in life, drawing parallels between life experiences and building with LEGO. He emphasizes the significance of trial and error, the journey of creation, and the need to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth.takeaways Life gives us experiences, challenges, and opportunities. You have to adapt or improvise. Mistakes and failures are part of the process, leading to growth. The journey matters as much as the end result. Building teaches you a lot of different things. Success varies greatly in personal endeavors. Every small piece contributes to a larger picture. Embrace the joy of creation and exploration. You have to learn all the time and adapt. Change your approach to difficult situations.
Today I cover all the exciting/unexpected moments I have ever had in my life. Covered some things I covered in my last episode.
Hey guys here’s my thought on being single and why being single can be beneficial and why after getting rejected multiple times I gave up completely. And this podcasts is also about bold eagle military training camp and my thoughts I didn’t mention in the previous episode cause my other episode was close to running out of time for explaining my episode topic.
So this is why I like my golf cart and why I chose to do a full aftermarket parts haul. So my golf cart when I bought it came with what I thought was a basic light kit only for me to find out there was hidden plugs that were labeled horn and signals. Once I found out that it was the case that I had the types of plugs I never expected to have when purchasing my first ever golf cart, I called up my dad and told him what I realized. Then he quizzed me down about it and we talked over the phone about it and what we were going to do. So the decision after about 10 minutes was that we would purchase the upgrade kit for my light kit. That was about three months before my birthday so I had plenty of time to think of my decision. Then after 3 months my birthday rolled around and 1 month right before my birthday everyone asked what I wanted and I had my mind set on what I wanted. What the weird thing was I realized I was dreaming about that one thing I wanted constantly and realized there was a very high chance I would end up with my dream cart sooner rather than later. So the days, hours, seconds, and milliseconds down quicker and quicker. And finally the day arrived! The day where we actually ended up going to Wainwright stampede before all the birthday party and celebration began. Well let me tell you this was the first time I ever went to the Wainwright Stampede and holy cow was it ever a thrill to see all the crazy things happening in the town of Wainwright! We got to watch chuckwagons, watch steer wrestling, and the last thing we got to watch to end the night was bull riding. Chuck wagons, Steer Wrestling and Bull riding was all crazy things that were a blast to watch like wow was it cool! Watching the chuck wagons waiting excitingly to hear the horn sound for the chuck wagons to start got some people so excited they could barely stay seated. Then came the chuck wagons barreling down the track with some very close races and the crowd cheering louder and louder every part of the race. With racers doing better than others it was all part of the game. Then came the steer wrestling it was cool to watch, with the horned steer waiting in the shoot waiting the be released, the wrangler waiting to be released around the same time, they were released and the wrangler catches up to the steer. Then the wrangler leans off the horse just at the right time to grab the horns of the steer to wrestle it to the ground the better they do the more points they end up with and the better they place in the standings. With each man trying to get a better score than the others there could only be one winner. Then came the bull riding which ended up being under the lights. The guy hops over the side of the shoot onto the bull with screens showing his intense fear while on the bull. The bull paws at the ground thrashing around making his head of horns slam into the shoot. The bull just wants to get this rider off, the rider just hoping not to get injured while riding the bull. Then the door swings open and they are off to prove to the crowd what they are capable of. One things for sure bull riding is extremely dangerous. These men are risking there lives to give the crowd a show. But they had policemen and ambulance waiting there in case something happened. The thing was the night was great, or so it seemed. When one of the riders was on the bull they got bucked off and when the rider came off the bull the bull launched the rider into the air, and I was just hoping he was okay. He got up a little slow, something seemed off and he had a slight limp as he went off the track. Then more and more riders came on one after another, with intermissions in between rides. There was also carnival rides that were there all though I didn’t end up going on them which was okay with me. Rides for me was a thing of the past and it’s where I wanted it kept. They did fireworks at the end but one last bull ride of night another bull ride ended and one rider was stretchered off.
So today’s episode covers something I always dreamed of doing and being a part of. The year of 2016 I was asked by my track and field coach a serious question that I never thought about let alone knew anything about. So the year of 2016, my dream of being able to participate in track and field provincials came true, as we all know as soon as we get word we are going to provincials we get hyped about the idea of representing our school in front of a big crowd cheering you on while your waiting in the sprinters blocks after setting them up on your own for yourself to start up the race. You wait patiently for the gun to so you can explode out of the blocks like flash the super hero. But my 2016-2017 year wasn’t like that and neither was my 2017-2018 year of provincials. I practiced daily running the same distance after school any days I could in order to train myself for the long awaited race day. I also ended up training very often for my sprints I was doing. Trying to find ways to improve my explosive legs out of those blocks faster everyday I trained. But there was one problem that prevented me from competing at my top level. In my 2016-2017 year of provincials a month before provincials I was playing a game in the gym at school with younger kids called colour tag we all know how that goes. The people that are it are trying to tag whoever they call a colour for. When they call a colour the people run from one side to the other and try not to get tagged. If they get tagged the end up being the tagger doing the tagging. The number of kids there were playing colour tag was a big number I think it was around 30 or more kids. But anyway the number of people being tagged started increasing by a lot and I ended up weaving my way around them until there were only 3 or 4 of people that weren’t it. And by that time I was running out of energy after being too much of a try hard wanting to win that I was. My only problem is I was way too competitive and that when the worst injuries ended up occurring. I ran back and forth multiple times without getting tagged. But with my energy running out I had a feeling something bad was going to happen but I just ignored that feeling and I kept running and running. Then I started to get so tired to the point I wanted to give up but I refused because being the stubborn 16 year old I was seemed to make me want to try and push myself as hard as I possibly could. That’s when the injuries ended up occurring. I was running back and forth and that was when tragedy struck. I thought this could be possible I just have to think smarter not harder. But that was when I made the worst decision of my high school year. I scanned the room to try and find anyway to get myself through and successfully win at colour tag. So I ended up finding a opening and took my last chance to win at the game they didn’t think I could win. So with the only energy I had left I went from a statue to a quick burst of speed into a full sprint. I ended up tripping and getting enough air I found myself about 4 feet from the wall so I covered my face and tucked my knees in and I hit the wall so hard that on impact I managed to break my toe and Dislocated my knee in the process. And then the kids surrounded me and were jumping on me and they got a little carried away. I took about two minutes to get up and dust myself off. That’s when I realized I had a dislocated right knee and a broken big toe on my right foot. About 1 week later my cousins ended up coming to the lake to play some hockey on the outdoor rink, my cousin Brette asked me if I could bring out pucks on the outdoor rink, so I agreed and did what she asked. I planned on just bringing them out and going back inside. But my cousin Brette wanted me to stay out and play hockey, but I told her I couldn’t cause I was injured. But she insisted that I stay out on the rink to spend time with them so I agreed. Then after about 6 weeks later my toe healed up. My teacher asked me about track.
