Today on Window Treatments for Profit
If you're scaling your window treatment business past $2 million or if you're on your way there, it's time to get serious about how you're building.
In this episode, LuAnn breaks down the two proven business models that successful window treatment CEOs use to scale profitably. One focuses on high volume and broad reach. The other on depth, high margins, and fewer clients.
Both models work. Both can generate millions. But the key is knowing which one you are building and aligning every decision around it.
If you’re feeling stretched thin, wondering where the profit is, or just starting to grow and want to build with clarity, this episode will give you the framework—and the focus—you need.

In today’s episode, LuAnn breaks down the real difference between high-performing teams and everyone else: KPIs that actually move the needle. You’ll learn how to reverse-engineer your revenue goals into actionable metrics, how to lead your team with clarity and accountability, and why this mindset isn’t just for sales, it’s for every part of your business.
Plus, LuAnn shares a personal invitation to join her and Vince in Montana or Wyoming this October for a transformative in-person event on how to build a business that runs on purpose, profit, and leadership.
In this episode:
Why sales goals without KPIs are useless
The 3 metrics every salesperson should know cold
How to coach behavior, not just outcomes
Why real leaders track every department—not just sales
Ready to level up? Start tracking like a pro and leading like a CEO.

Two window treatment businesses. Same town. Same products. Totally different results.
One is always discounting to close the sale. The other commands top dollar with ease. What’s the difference? It’s not geography. It’s mindset—and execution.

These are the systems and standards that elevate your client experience and boost your bottom line—because luxury is never just about the product. It’s about how you deliver it.
If you're ready to stop defending your price and start owning your value, this episode is for you.

Today With LuAnn Nigara:
In this solo What Would Lu Do episode, I’m pulling back the curtain on the exact five strategic shifts I had to make when we scaled Window Works from $1.8M to nearly $5M. These aren’t feel-good theories—these are real-world, battle-tested pivots in how you think, lead, and operate your business.
We’ll cover:
The CEO mindset shift that starts it all—and why it’s harder (and more important) than you think
Why the systems that got you here will absolutely hold you back from scaling
The new level of team accountability and financial visibility you must develop
What it really takes to market like a $5M business—and sell like one, too
How to stop reacting—and start leading with intention and vision
Don’t forget to grab the free goodie for this episode—a downloadable checklist that recaps all 5 shifts and gives you one place to find all the episodes, tools, and trainings I mention.

Today With Jessica Harling:
Welcome to Window Treatments For Profit! Jessica is back for part two of our conversation, and today we're flipping the script. Instead of focusing on what Jessica learned from interviewing others in her 'Bound by Business' series, we're diving into her own personal journey working in a family business for years. Jessica gets vulnerable about her experiences, sharing the four key things she learned from reflection—from recognizing when you're being supported more than you think, to the stories we create in our minds about family members' intentions. We'll explore her decision to step away and forge her own path, the importance of having real conversations instead of making assumptions, and how to appreciate family members for who they are and what they bring. This is honest, real talk about family dynamics, personal growth, and the courage it takes to make tough decisions when business and family collide. Plus, Jessica shares that she's ramping up for round two of the Bound by Business series! Join us for a candid conversation filled with wisdom, self-reflection, and invaluable insights for anyone navigating complex family relationships in business.

Today With Tara Kennedy:
Today with Tara Kennedy, Director of Marketing at Window Modes, we explore what exceptional dealer support looks like in the window treatment industry. Tara brings a unique background from Direct Response marketing to this wholesale fabricator that's been serving professionals since the early 90s. We discuss their approach to motorization education, concealment systems through their Blind Space partnership, and how they've built lasting relationships with dealers through high-touch customer service. From their 24-48 hour remake policy to getting on calls with dealers who are troubleshooting on job sites, this conversation reveals what it takes to be a true partner in today's increasingly technical marketplace. Whether you're exploring new manufacturing relationships or looking to expand into motorization and concealment systems, you'll gain valuable insights into finding vendors who invest in your success

In the final episode of our series, LuAnn tackles the ultimate sales killer: skipping the system. Without a process, you’re winging it — and that means leaving money, confidence, and opportunities on the table.

LuAnn walks you through a self-diagnosis to uncover the gaps in your process and shares six concrete action steps to build a system that works — from your first call all the way through the close.
This episode isn’t about perfection — it’s about preparation, practice, and the confidence that comes from truly knowing your craft.

The biggest mistakes even experienced pros make in their process
How to balance structure with authenticity
Why discovery is always crucial — even when clients think they know what they want
The key differences between practicing off the field and in front of your client

“Maybe” feels polite. Safe. Hopeful. But in sales? It’s a silent killer.
In this episode of Window Treatments for Profit, I break down the 6th Deadly Sales Sin: mistaking vague responses for real opportunities. You’ll learn why “maybe” doesn’t pay the bills, how to stop waiting in limbo, and the exact scripts to lead your client to a clear yes—or an honest no.
If your pipeline is full of “we’ll think about it,” this is your wake-up call.
Listen now and take back your power at the close.
