Next Generation Entertainment SoapsShow Notes Anthony steps in as show master and narrator for an all new episode of Next Generation Entertainment Soaps, welcoming listeners to another lively, opinionated, and community driven conversation about the ever evolving world of daytime drama. Joining Anthony at the table are David, Candice, and Ashley as they tease, debate, laugh, and dig deep into recaps, spoilers, casting conversations, and those fun and sometimes wildly unhinged theories that make Soapland so addictive. This is not a one way conversation. It is an open invitation to hang out, react, and engage with fellow soap fans who love these shows just as much as you do. The night kicks off with The Bold and the Beautiful, where David breaks down a week that left fans buzzing. Katie, Katie, Katie, and that long awaited mystery fashion designer reveal have completely shaken the canvas. David explores how this signals a shift toward a new generation of Forrester and Logan maneuvering, fresh alliances, and betrayals that are only just beginning to surface. Over in Genoa City, the conversation turns to The Young and the Restless. Candice does not hold back as the panel discusses story pacing, character frustration, and the growing call among fans for a serious reset. From specific character beats to the bigger picture, the discussion asks what it really takes for a legacy soap to recalibrate and regain momentum without losing its identity. Candice also takes the lead on Beyond the Gates as the series celebrates one year on the air. The panel reflects on the impact the show has already made, including Anita’s powerful cancer storyline, the unsettling presence of Joey portrayed by John Lindstrom, and the delicious chaos brought by Vanessa and Leslie. The conversation looks at why this show has resonated so strongly in its first year and why viewers are still asking the lingering question, what exactly is Joey up to. In Salem, Ashley walks us through Days of Our Lives. With the Demerara kidnapping saga finally in the rearview mirror, things are not slowing down. If anything, they are getting hotter, messier, and far more complicated. Ashley unpacks what comes next, why patience in Salem usually pays off, and how long term storytelling continues to reward viewers who stick with it. Anthony then breaks down all the mayhem unfolding in Port Charles on General Hospital. From court chaos to tangled motivations and emotional fallout, nothing is off the table. Is Willow facing consequences or are we headed toward double jeopardy territory. Is she more calculating than her presumed dead twin, her mother, and the rest of that famously messy family tree, or is she the most diabolical one of all. Anthony also keeps an eye on Anna at Spoon Island, Sidwell pulling strings behind the scenes, and even Mayor Laura caught in the web, while reminding us that no villain ever stays on top forever in Port Charles. The episode also features a Next Generation Entertainment Soaps public service announcement and Soap Box moment, addressing fake casting news and the online bashing of actors, writers, and producers. The panel speaks candidly about the damage misinformation and hostility can cause, and why loving soaps also means respecting the people who bring them to life. All of this and so much more makes for a packed, thoughtful, and entertaining episode that celebrates soaps while also challenging how we engage with them as fans. g Next Generation Entertainment Soaps PresentsThe Anthony Geary TributeBonus Episode In this special bonus episode of Next Generation Entertainment Soaps, Anthony is joined by David, Candice, and SUE ELLEN to honor and celebrate the extraordinary legacy of Anthony Geary, known to fans around the world as Tony Geary and forever as Luke Spencer. Together we gather to share memories reflections and deep appreciation for the powerhouse eight time Daytime Emmy Award winning actor whose work shaped not only General Hospital but daytime television itself. We begin by looking back at Tony Geary’s early work including his time on The Young and the Restless and trace his journey to General Hospital where he became the creative force behind Luke Lucas Lorenzo Spencer. What followed was one of the most unpredictable and influential character arcs in soap history. From Luke’s arrival in Port Charles at the urging of his sister Bobbie Spencer to break up Scotty and Laura, to the mob entanglements and adventures that defined the era, we talk about how Luke evolved from a disruptor into a complicated anti hero who carried romance danger humor and consequence in equal measure. Of course we revisit the wedding. The cultural phenomenon. The moment when the world truly stopped and daytime television reached an audience size never seen before or since. We discuss how Anthony Geary grounded even the most fantastical stories in emotional truth, making the unbelievable feel intimate and human. This conversation also explores Luke’s iconic friendships with Anna Devane, Robert Scorpio, Sean Donnelly, Lucy Coe, Felicia Scorpio, and Sonny Corinthos. We reflect on the women who defined Luke’s life including Holly Sutton, Laura Spencer, and Tracy Quartermaine, and how Geary’s work opposite some of the genre’s greatest actresses elevated every scene. We talk about the darker more challenging storylines as well, including Luke’s reckoning after killing his grandson while driving drunk, confronting his past with Lucky and Elizabeth, and the emotional weight Geary carried in moments that went far beyond typical soap storytelling. We also discuss Tony Geary the artist. His complicated love hate relationship with the genre. His refusal to play plot over people. His commitment to relationships and emotional grounding. His influence on generations of actors who have spoken openly about how working with him changed them. This episode is a celebration of craft, risk, brilliance, and legacy. Please note this is our final episode of the season. The Next Generation Entertainment Soaps team will be taking a holiday break and will return in January with exciting interviews fresh conversations and everything you have come to love from our crew. Next Generation Entertainment Soaps   Monday Night at 8 PM   Hosts Anthony, David, Candice, and Carolyn were joined by special guest Sue Ellen for another fast paced and fabulous night of soap talk.   We dove into the Q Dynasty on General Hospital, where secrets are spilling faster than a tipped martini. Over on The Bold and the Beautiful, Luna’s lunacy had everyone talking, and on The Young and the Restless, we asked the burning question, is Kane ever going to drop the big bomb? Behind the Gates, Thomas and the ladies brought all the drama, while in Salem, the usual madness had us wondering who might come back from the dead next.   Of course, no soap conversation is complete without a little gossip. Candice shared exciting details about her upcoming trip to attend the Daytime Emmys, and the panel weighed in on casting shake ups, surprise exits, and wild storyline twists that only daytime television can deliver.   It was an hour full of laughter, passion, and plenty of cliffhangers. Next Generation Entertainment: Soaps   Presented by the Spick and Span Soap Social Club   Airing tonight at 8 PM Eastern   Voiceover Anthony: Once or twice a season the doors of the Spick and Span Soap Social Club open for a secret rendezvous. Not always the same players but always the same club and always the same table. Anthony and the team have skillfully infiltrated this world of martinis and munchies, wiring every corner and placing hidden microphones to capture the gossip that soap legends spill when they think no one is listening. Tonight, the table is set.   Sheila: Well, well, if it is not Salem’s favorite lawyer. Tell me Belle, how is life in blackout city? Should I be worried someone is stealing your spotlight or are you too busy nursing Marlena back from yet another brush with death?   Belle: At least we know how to keep the lights on Sheila. Marlena is stronger than you will ever be. You might want to focus on your own mess because rumor has it you are about to clash with Li again. Luna and Hope are circling your every move.   Danny: Oh please ladies. While you are busy playing doctor and diva, Andre and I are off to Vegas. Who knows what surprises will pop up between blackjack tables and champagne towers. Nicole is spilling tea about Ted’s cheating, Vanessa cannot stop sweating under Doug’s pressure, and Kat is whispering about Tomas like he is forbidden fruit. My life is a headline.   Phyllis: Cute Danny, really cute. But over in Genoa City Billy is making threats, Victor is pretending to play nice with Jack, and Audra is teasing Kyle like she invented the word taunt. If you think your little Las Vegas getaway is scandalous, try surviving a Newman family dinner without losing your mind.   Sheila: Phyllis darling, you always sound two martinis in. Still, I admire your stamina.   Phyllis: And I admire your ability to keep surviving bullet wounds, falls, and prison sentences. Impressive.   Dr. Obrecht: Enough of this squabbling. In Port Charles we are mourning the passing of my dear colleague Dr. Monica Quartermaine. The town is united in grief and fans are applauding Jane Elliott as Tracy and Steve Burton as Jason for their touching tributes. Multiple nods to our storied history, so many tears. And yet, not one but two children are shocking us back from the grave. Mark my words, my mind is about to be blown when my other child pops out the coffin and back into the café.   Belle: Only in Port Charles.   Danny: Wait, children popping out of coffins. That is a Vegas headliner.   Sheila: Sounds like you could use my services. I have made a career out of never staying dead.   Dr. Obrecht: You may laugh, but it is the Quartermaine way. And rumor has it, we may even be graced by the legendary Erika Slezak. Victoria Lord Buchanan herself. If she comes to Port Charles the walls of General Hospital will tremble.   Phyllis: Oh, I would kill for a Victoria Lord moment. Imagine her altars dealing with Victor Newman.   Sheila: Ha, even Sheila Carter might take a seat for that showdown.   Stage Direction: At the bar Ashley the friendly bar back keeps the martinis flowing while Candice is eavesdropping from behind a potted plant. Across the room Carolyn and David play act as an August December couple whispering like conspirators. Meanwhile Anthony is in a van outside manning the controls for every hidden microphone, making sure not a single juicy word is missed.   Voiceover Anthony: And so the night winds down but the stories rage on. The unstoppable tears for General Hospital, the memories and highlights that will live forever. I cannot wait to see what goes down in Vegas, what chaos erupts during the blackout, and hell, any moment that Sheila and Phyllis are on my screen is magic. But Lord have mercy, can we finally have that cameo crossover we have all been waiting for. When are Loren and Sheila finally going to confront each other, and when is Phyllis finally going to slap the curly right back into Sheila’s face for once upon a time and impersonating and stealing her life.   Join us tonight for Next Generation Entertainment Soaps on 2020 The Beacon at 8 PM Eastern and available tomorrow wherever you catch your podcast.   Note: If you would like to join us and share your thoughts and feelings this evening please send an email to: sundayeditionac@gmail.com   🎬🍸📺💋🔥🕰️🌹🎭✨   #Soaps #NextGenerationEntertainment #BoldAndBeautiful #DaysOfOurLives #BeyondTheGates #GeneralHospital #YR #SoapFansUnite #SpickAndSpanSoapClub #MartinisAndMunchiesEpisode Notes Notes go here This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
Next Generation Entertainment Soaps, Show Notes   Episode, Monday, September 8, 2025   😊😊😊   Hosts and Guest   Anchored by Anthony with the team on hand for analysis and commentary. Joining us as a special guest star was Sue Ellen, bringing a fresh perspective and a lifetime of soap viewing history. Sue’s Sherlock style instincts, long memory, and eagle eye for details brought new energy to the panel, and her theories had everyone leaning in. With her receipts to back them up, Sue noticed subtle clues, costume shifts, and background whispers that could reshape whole storylines.   😊😊😊   General Hospital   Port Charles continues to spin with the question, who shot Drew, and what will his future look like. Anna and Chase are chasing leads, a surprise return is shaking the canvas, and whispers of paralysis may alter Drew’s path forever. The countdown is on for Erica’s arrival, and speculation grows around Nathan, is he good, bad, ugly, or something in between.   With the help of Sue Allen, the panel connected dots, flagged timing issues, and debated whether an accomplice is lurking unseen. Sue highlighted odd phone call gaps, shifts in dialogue, and props that may not have been accidental. It all builds toward a reveal that could flip loyalties in unexpected ways.   😊😊😊   Beyond the Gates   Leslie’s descent is spiraling faster than ever, Chelsea’s shaky return adds new instability, Alison brandishes a knife with chilling determination, Kat and Jacob’s crash rocks the week, and Derek’s secrets deepen. The panel agrees this is one of the most intense weeks yet, with relentless pacing and shock value that leaves no room to breathe.   😊😊😊   The Young and the Restless   Genoa City simmers with casting buzz and family upheaval. Roger Howarth, Matt Cohen, and Tamara Braun are set to arrive, reshaping the horizon. Sally questions Billy, Victor surprises Claire, and Mariah confesses truths that ripple through multiple households. Secrets and confessions drive the tension, with fallout certain to follow.   😊😊😊   The Bold and the Beautiful   Family fireworks dominate as Ridge wavers, Taylor tries to steady the ground, and Liam circles the action. Luna’s obsession deepens, earning her the nickname Sheila Junior Grand Junior, while Poppy reacts with mounting concern. Chaos is the word of the week, as rivalries and shifting alliances promise explosive consequences.   😊😊😊   Days of Our Lives   Xander and Philip crack under pressure, Gabi is trapped between Kiriakis brothers, and Marlena is haunted by a mysterious gift. Adoption drama twists again, Rachel stuns Kristen, Sophia’s secrets teeter, and Brady’s sudden revelations upend expectations. Salem’s boardrooms and bedrooms continue to collide, leaving fans guessing what’s next.   😊😊😊   Candice’s Spotlight   Candice delivered her signature mix of soap secrets, casting shake ups, and Emmy buzz. Her targeted analysis alongside Anthony kept the discussion sharp, layered, and on point. Together they broke down the moves behind the moves, spotlighting where storylines could turn next.   😊😊😊   Public Service Announcement   The panel also issued a reminder to fans: beware of artificial intelligence generated soap star outreach scams. Fraudulent accounts and AI impersonations are targeting fans for money and attention. Protect yourself, do not engage, and report suspicious messages.   😊😊😊   Community Notes   Thank you for listening live on 2020 The Beacon. Episode Notes Anthony, David, Candice, and Ashley Special Appearance: Carolyn 🌈 Last night on Next Generation Entertainment Soaps, we celebrated Pride Month with a heartfelt and lively conversation about queer representation in daytime television—from the trailblazers of the past to the possibilities of the future. We revisited landmark characters and storylines that changed the soap landscape forever: Billy Douglas on One Life to Live, Bianca Montgomery and Zoe on All My Children, Luke and Noah on As the World Turns, Will and Sonny on Days of Our Lives, and Maya Avant on The Bold and the Beautiful. We showed some love to "Teriah"—Mariah and Tessa on The Young and the Restless—and explored the emotional depth of Aiden Spencer’s quietly groundbreaking coming out on General Hospital. But we didn’t stop there. Our conversation turned bold as we tackled what's still missing in daytime: more expansive trans and non-binary representation, more relationship-driven LGBTQIA+ storylines, and a broader reflection of the real diversity within our community. We even sprinkled in some thoughts on nighttime dramas and what we hope to see across all platforms in the years to come. And of course, we wrapped up with what you come to love from us the most: 🔥 Suspense 📺 Spoilers 🎭 Casting shake-ups 💬 Snark … and full recaps from: The Bold and the Beautiful The Young and the Restless Beyond the Gates Days of Our Lives General Hospital Next Generation Entertainment Soaps is live every second and fourth Monday of the month at 7:30 PM Eastern on 20-20 The Beacon, and available on-demand wherever you get your podcasts. Episode Notes In this episode of Next Generation Entertainment Soaps, Anthony took center stage—quite literally—as ringmaster of all things scandalous, fabulous, and delightfully dramatic in the soap world. From a swirling spotlight and theatrical fog, Anthony kicked things off with flair, diving into the week’s soapy sagas. In Genoa City, Jack Abbott was dreaming of a romantic escape, while Lauren reeled from Michael’s shocking move to break ties with Victor Newman. Meanwhile, Victor still had his hands in everyone’s business, as always. And Candice? Well, she may or may not have been signing her divorce papers with The Young and the Restless. (We’re still waiting to see if she used a pen or a match.) Over in Los Angeles, the tension was just as high on The Bold and the Beautiful. Hope Logan and Carter Walton reunited, which sent Daphne into a couture-clad spiral, while Ridge once again found himself circling the eternal triangle of Brooke and Taylor. David, our resident fashion fiend, was absolutely living for the drama—and the balls. Balls and the beautiful? Absolutely 🤩 Salem brought the heat in Days of Our Lives, where John Black was racing against time to save Bo Brady. Betrayals were mounting, secrets were slipping, and the whole town was buzzing. Let’s just say no couch cushion was safe from being screamed into. And Beyond the Gates delivered its signature brand of slow-burn mayhem, with Chelsea’s brave coming out moment, Leslie’s jaw-dropping confessions, and Kat digging up dirt faster than anyone could bury it. But the crown jewel of this episode? The Nurses Ball in Port Charles. Gio’s violin solo had hearts pounding, but his family drama threatened to drown out the music. Lulu returned with a vengeance—and we’re still taking bets on who will land that first long-awaited slap. Tracy Quartermaine kept slipping in and out of handcuffs (don’t ask), and just when the curtains started to fall—Michael Corinthos came back with the kids and the most savage revenge yet. Cue the slow clap 🤩 You can catch Next Generation Entertainment Soaps every second and fourth Monday of the month on 2020 The Beacon. Episode Notes Monday, April 14th at 7:30 PM Eastern… the saga continues. Where is Anthony? That’s the question everyone’s whispering behind closed doors as Next Generation Entertainment Soaps returns live on 20/20 The Beacon — or wherever you get your podcasts the next day. Flashback… Our last episode set the soap world ablaze, thanks to our conversation with the captivating Jeff Kober, best known for his menacing portrayal of Cyrus Renault on General Hospital. We dove deep into Jeff’s storied career — from the battlefields of China Beach, to the supernatural corridors of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the outlaw roads of Sons of Anarchy, and all the way back to his screen debut in the sci-fi cult classic V. While Cyrus met his dastardly end being murdered by legacy character, Jocelyn, his mark on Port Charles will be remembered for many years to come. Jeff also opened up to us about his spiritual journey and his mission to share meditation teaching with the world.Didn’t catch it? Search NGE Soaps, a.k.a. Next Generation Entertainment Soaps, wherever you get your podcasts and get caught up on the tea. Now… a new chapter unfolds. With Anthony mysteriously M.I.A., it’s up to the rest of the dream team — David, cool as ever under pressure, Carolyn, equal parts sass and sense, and Candice, our undisputed Queen of Spoilers — to take the reins and steer us through the soap storm. Across the soapiverse, the tension is building: • In The Young and the Restless, Jordan’s vendetta against the Newmans threatens to bring down Genoa City’s crown jewel family. • On Bold and the Beautiful, Steffy and Hope are circling Liam — but which woman is really writing the next chapter? • Over in Days of Our Lives, Konstantin’s grip tightens, but is Maggie about to turn the tables with a classic Horton twist? • In General Hospital, it’s not Jason who’s holding the secrets anymore — it’s the big pink elephant in the middle of the room playing a violin. Drumroll, please… Gio! Who’s going to spill that big boiling pot of secrets, and where will the drama of that secret sauce land? And with so many secrets, stunning even the writers creators and actors themselves… Forget about going beyond the gates… It’s all about blowing those gates, right off their mooring!that’s not all. We’ll also be teasing the juicy new audio drama everyone’s buzzing about — with legacy soap connections, stunning voice talent, and enough scandal to fuel a whole season of daytime. And of course, you know we’ll be poking Mama Bear Candice for another spoiler or two about Forever and a Day… because she always has the good stuff. Oh — and Anthony? Turns out he didn’t vanish. He left us for a steamy, moonlit affair with none other than Kylie Minogue, dancing under the stars at the County Center in Miami. Will he spill that tea when he returns on April 28th? You’ll have to tune in to find out. Next Generation Entertainment Soaps airs live every second and fourth Monday at 7:30 PM Eastern on The Beacon. Join us. Laugh. Swoon. Scream at your screen. And catch the drama behind the drama. Get in on the conversation over at the Next Generation Entertainment Soaps Facebook page, where fans become part of the storyline. Soapland perfection.
