Jessica Roman shares her daughter's remarkable story. Born with a usually fatal rare genetic mutation that causes the disorder megacystis-microcolon-intestinal hypoperistalsis syndrome (MMSIH), the condition impaired the infant’s ability to pass urine or feces without medical intervention.
