Best Ex is an indie-pop and punk rock musical project led by songwriter Mariel Loveland. After her previous project, Candy Hearts, Loveland created Best Ex in 2017 to give herself some creative space to explore new sounds. CJ Lawlor and Wren Mohammed connected over their love for music and eventually, with Wren at the helm, started to imagine what their project would look and sound like.
