If you're feeling confused about what it takes to feel good in your body and truly enjoy food again, listen to this episode where I explain the clarity and freedom that the Love How you Eat mission has created for me and my clients. The diets have distracted us. The culture has disempowered us. It's time to do things differently because you deserve to feel good.lovehowyoueat.com
The diets don't work but we need to know why we keep going back to them! If you've been a chronic dieter and find safety in their construct and familiarity, this episode explains why we like diet rules and how to break free of their unproductive constraints. I give you four reasons why you want diet rules and share the importance of creating your own eating and drinking protocol based on what makes YOU feel YOUR best. Dr Stephanie Doig is a BRILLIANT Clinical Psychologist specialising in working with anxious children and teens and their families. In this fascinating, helpful and practical conversation, Stephanie explains:- why there has been an increase in anxious children- how to recognise whether your child is anxious- what's "normal" behaviour versus what requires intervention- how to best navigate tricky moments with your children- how to support yourself when you haven't parented in the way you'd ideally like- how her upcoming app (launching in early 2026) can help children and parents to feel better and keep moving forwardsAnd I also use the example of my second son, Ralph, and his tricky eating, to show how it's not what our kids are doing that's necessarily the problem but what we make it mean about ourselves, and how our mindset is a huge opportunity for parenting in a more supportive and empowered way. Do you have memories and experiences from your past about your weight, body and food that you think still inform your actions and choices today? If so, listen to this episode to hear me explain how I've been using EMDR therapy to reprocess some formative memories and move past them. All thoughts are optional and subjective, and nothing means anything until we attach a thought to it. Our feelings and actions (which are driven by our thoughts) are our responsibility so it's crucial we take ownership of the thoughts driving them so that we create the results we want in our life now. As we get closer to achieving our goals, we can start to become slack with doing what's required to actualise them. The stuff that worked at the beginning is STILL what's going to work now and if you start debating whether you're going to do that and see what you can "get away with", you're going to make the whole thing far more fraught and complicated than it needs to be. If your results have stagnated, listen to this episode for a pep talk!Do you want to change your eating and drinking habits so that you feel good in your body and love how you live your life?Work with me in January! In this episode, I cover 10 things that are essential to creating a weight loss result which you can maintain. And shockingly, I don't even talk about planning ahead of time! These are integral qualities and mindsets that you'll need to implement and which the diet mentality often has us overlooking. They'll take consistent reminding because of how engrained diet mentality and culture is -- but they're worth reminding yourself of every now and then if you feel like you're being blown off course.Let it be easy by focusing on these things. lovehowyoueat.com
In this episode I share a story from my weekend involving Frank's brownies! I talk about how all desire is learnt and therefore it can be unlearnt -- which is great news if certain desire loops are driving you nuts and creating automatic urges which you find annoying and hard to deal with. If you have a habit which you feel like you just can't quit or are inconsistent with following your plan, this episode is for you. lovehowyoueat.com*Work with me in January! Do you feel satisfied by your life and with how you spend your time? Do you lean on food and alcohol as your main source of pleasure and satisfaction? The pleasure gap is the distance between the pleasure you feel in your life and the pleasure you want to feel. And when we use food and alcohol and things that give us instant gratification to fill our pleasure gap, we generally widen the gap because they come with negative downstream consequences. This episode encourages you to acknowledge and understand your pleasure gap, and think about ways to decrease it that truly delight you and make you feel alive. lovehowyoueat.com
In this episode, I wanted to talk about my biggest takeaways from 2025 and encourage you to think about yours. I talk about breaking free of the social constructs and learnt conditioning that stop you from feeling your best. And explain how to become someone who takes great care of yourself consistently and without condition, and why Love How You Eat is so important to me (and us)!
