Bob Armstrong had turned heel at the end of 1982 and had a great heel run through most of the year. He ultimately turned babyface to aid his sons Brad and Scott in their feud with the Midnight Express, Inc. Ron Fuller returns but has revenge in mind for Bob. Jim Cornette only briefly appeared in Continental wrestling near the end of the promotion. During the time it was bought by David Woods and booked by Paul Heyman and Eddie Gilbert, Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express were on top of the world in the NWA.
