Suffering Anxiety? Triggered issues getting the best of you? Have you lost Faith but never gave up HOPE? Discover how to tap into your strengths that come from your weaknesses as today’s guest, Dr. Tim Fortescue shares his journey, techniques and experiences allowing you to reconnect and never give up hope. For nearly two decades, Dr. Tim Fortescue has been involved in ministry leadership in the church, community, and seminary settings. During this time, he has been impacted by life/spiritual coaches and mentors who have helped make life better. The impact others have had on him has helped him to be able to coach and mentor other leaders and people of faith. Some of the realities of growing up in Appalachia in a working-class family delayed him from realizing his full potential and knowing that he is a beloved child of God until later in my life. Because of what he's learned, Tim gets excited about coaching and the impact that he can have on others as he helps them realize their full potential and "belovedness." As Tim continues to learn and grow, he wants to help others to do the same. Tim is a professionally trained and experienced coach and also holds a Doctorate in Ministry Leadership. You can find out more about Tim and his coaching practice at www.faithfullygrowing.com Don’t forget to contact Dr. Tim Fortescue about the “BEING THE BELOVED” 3 Hour virtual mini Retreat scheduled for October 22nd and to learn more about his Friday Parts Mapping Group. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” ― Marianne Williamsom It’s all about BALANCE Pain is an output Pick a Physical Therapist who really works for you Contact info: Email: hannah@betterwithphyx.com IG: @dr_hannah.dpt and @phyxpt FB: @drhannah.dpt and @phyxPT Phyx: www.betterwithphyx.com https://www.betterwithphyx.com/choose-pt-waukesha-county Please remember to SUBSCRIBE today and tell your friends about this inspiring conversation. Brenda E. Cortez is a living kidney donor to another mom, which is what inspired her to write her first children's book. She is the creator of Howl the Owl© (plush owl and book series) and his special message of Help Others With Love. Brenda's experiences have sparked her passion to make a difference in the world through her books, including her latest non-fiction book, "Voices-19", and now the stories she helps others bring to life. Today’s guests, Brenda Cortez and Gina Sirico, give a voice to those we lost to Covid-19. Their legacies will live on forever by their stories that are told. In this beautiful book, 19 grieving families celebrate their loved ones' lives by sharing their stories. Voices-19:Their Legacies Live On was written to celebrate the lives of those lost to COVID-19. Those lost to this virus are not just a number or a statistic. They are our mothers and fathers, our sisters and brothers, our aunts and uncles, our grandparents, cousins, friends and even our children. It's time to humanize the numbers that you see on the news daily. Covid is real. Ask anyone of these families left behind to grieve. These beautiful souls made a difference to the world and impacted many lives, perhaps even your life. Everyone in the world has been affected by the pandemic but for almost 1 million families in the USA alone, their lives will never be the same, and no one will ever be back to “normal”. Together we can be the empathy and compassion for those families left behind experiencing PTSD and Prolonged Grief Disorder. So many were unable to say goodbye or to be with their loved ones as they took their last breath, due to Covid restrictions, while others had no funeral services or were able to witness their loved one’s burial. This grief is like no other. It is my hope that this episode educates, inspires and changes your perspective to understand those that were lost to Covid-19, were not just a number, they were human beings, who have made a difference, touched our lives and are still loved and missed today. Please say their names with me! Please join us today to hear stories of bravery, hope and inspiration. To learn more about these families or to contact one or all of them, please contact Brenda E. Today's guest, Kat Hitzeman is a Coach and a leader in prophetic art, healing art and ministry. Along with her work as a professional artist in bronze casting, painting and photography, she leads prophetic art workshops, and women’s retreats. Kat is an ordained pastor and an incredible GIFT of an 'Open Vision'. As Kat continued to heal herself, God revealed through an "Open Vision" how to create "Beauty for Ashes" from her own ashes to beauty, while helping other women. She took a leap of faith, is blessed every time she takes a step, as God continues to work in and through her. Her incredibly beautiful artwork and coaching allows her to help others through retreats and art workshops. Kat's main focus with coaching is coaching artists to help them navigate being an artist, what that looks like for them; if they want to go pro, or if they are feeling stuck. A lot of artists get really, really stuck, and she loves helping them get unstuck. Another main focus for Kat, with coaching, is with women that are in transition. When they're at the point in their life, and wondering, "What's next?" and they have done all this, or done all of that, they are transitioning. She describes it as them being in a hallway, and sometimes that hallway can be a really dark place. And so she helps them get to the end of the hall or get to the doors that need to be opened. Takeaways: It's not an overnight thing, it's a PROCESS! Art has the POWER to Heal! Enjoy the Journey! Just take a STEP! Stay PRESENT! Don't partner with comparison. Mantra: Every time I take a step I get blessed. Niche: Artists/Women in transition & searching for their truest most authentic self. It’s that time of the year when we all have different perspectives on many topics and lately there have been many questions and diverse reactions that lead me to being called to do a Podcast on Perspective. Many people get excited about the holidays, the planning, the get-togethers, decorations and so on. Yet, it isn’t the same for everyone. There are many people who are suffering from loss, loneliness or illness and they would rather hide than celebrate the holidays, especially with happy people. Their internal sadness is so deep they don’t know how to feel right now. Have you ever gone to the store, excited about what’s going on in your own life? when some stranger snaps at you, it either makes you stop and think to yourself, “What the heck is their problem?” or your empathy and compassion kick in and you realize they must be suffering something internally because you know you didn’t do anything wrong. It just so happened that your unexpected light was trying to shine into their darkness. It’s all in perspective. Not everyone is ready for that light because they are still processing. Maybe the holidays in general are a constant reminder of something that happened from your past and you're struggling to be around happy people. Maybe you’re that person who looks at someone in that big beautifully decorated house and thinks they have it all, and don’t have a clue what suffering feels like. They just might be suffering the same, they just hide it differently by filling up their time and space with “stuff”, decorations, parties, etc. Maybe you’re that person who sees that homeless person and thinks, “Just go get a job and stop begging!” But, you don’t know their story; they may have lost their job, their family and all their belongings and don’t have the guidance of knowing what to do. Maybe the fear of asking for help dug that rabbit hole a little deeper? It’s all in perspective. Maybe this is your first year being separated or divorced and you don’t get to see your child(ren) on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day like you have for years? Maybe you’re dealing with sharing your child(ren) with another person because of the separation or divorce and it’s hard? Understanding the perspective that everyone grieves differently, deals with loss, separation, and change differently. There isn’t a right or wrong way, it just takes time. It’s all in perspective. How we see things is our own perspective. When we judge someone, their life and their emotions, we are not seeing the situation through their eyes, only our perspective. Have you ever thought about what a positive perspective with Hope, Faith, and love might look or feel like? Every job is important. No matter what you do. If you are the CEO or manager of a company, don’t forget to thank the people who have helped you become where you are. Everyone works together. When you look at others through their perspective, you just might see a different side which may make you smile and feel joy in your heart. If you’re a stay at home mom, don’t underestimate your position by saying, “I’m just a stay at home mom.” That is a huge responsibility in itself and can be harder than most 9 to 5 jobs. Be grateful and thankful for every gift you are given. It’s all in perspective. Look for the Hope through those experiences; have faith you will get through it all and love everyone from your heart, even if you have to pray for those difficult to love. It’s all in Perspective. Today’s guest is an amazing woman who embraces diversity. Beverly Sartain was the first born American in her family and had two immigrant parents and English was their second language. Beverly has truly transcended her life. She has gone from her own recovery, to being a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor to being the President of the Holistic Coach Training Institute, where she trains aspiring coaches on coaching skills and business set-up. The Holistic Coach Certification Program is an ICF ACSTH accredited program focusing on a holistic approach to coaching. Beverly has her PCC (Professional Certified Coach) from the ICF (International Coaching Federation) and enjoys helping professionals empower themselves around their skill set and online coaching business. IT’S A JOURNEY NOT AN EVENT Creating a healthy routine, being structured, and being consistent are key to having a healthy mind. Beverly suggests that you set yourself up for success by doing one thing in each of the four levels every single day. The four levels are: Physical, Mental, Emotional and Spiritual. Keep it SIMPLE! For example for the Mental level, do anything that supports you, your thought process and supports you mentally, like journaling affirmations or positive statements. Because Beverly didn't have those accessible inside herself, when she first started, she needed to hear other people's affirmations and words, so that she could start to feel into those words and receive those words. Then she was able to find her own words that she could say. Another option is meditation, or just being able to be in the stillness of silence more. It’s not even that you have to meditate per se, but learning to be with your own thoughts and not attached to them as the truth. It’s a process. Learn skills or learn the tools that work best for you. It is not a one for all method. Bev is just like everybody else, she is on the same playing field as everyone, and states, “If I can do it, anyone can do it.” "Figure out what works best for you." When people start a recovery healing journey, stuff comes up and is uncomfortable. It's going to be uncomfortable. But the point is to learn how to be with what's coming up. Have the learnings that are needed, and move through it. Getting to the other side of the learnings is where the magic happened for Bev. It's because she moved through all of the past stuff and learned what she needed to learn, and receive, so she could free up her mind and free up her body and free up her spirit. Life happens and humanness happens, and people don't know how to navigate through those experiences and actually take the learnings and the soul lessons from the humanness in order to leverage their spiritual being. It’s a process Bev has gone through. She loves helping others learn how to use their mind, and consciousness to be of service; service to spirit, and create purposeful things for themselves and humanity. This episode is me sharing how I took a leap of FAITH many times throughout my life and although at times it may have seemed scary and wondered initially what the heck I was doing, I knew, because of my FAITH, that everything would turn out okay. The benefits of having faith: Waking up grateful Grateful for the air you breathe and everything and everyone in your life Being grateful for the changing of the seasons and the joy nature brings Forgiveness is healing Strength to have difficult conversations Acceptance of everyone without judgment Knowing you are where you are meant to be Being present Loving yourself and those who may be difficult to love Finding joy in everything Being happy for others Creating healthy boundaries Being YOU Feeling valued Feeling Loved Love what you do Having a positive mindset Having patience Trusting the process Having HOPE Also, Faith is a choice. You can believe there is hope or go back to being comfortable, doing what you want when you want and hope for the best. The stronger you become in your faith the more you will notice the enemy will try to pull you away. Challenges and struggles may pull you away but your faith is stronger and you will overcome it stronger than ever before. Have you ever said, “WHY ME?” “WHY must I GO THROUGH THIS?” Many times throughout my life I would say those same things, “Why me?” “Why do I have to go through this again and again?” At the time the struggle or challenge seemed too great. Life may feel unfair, people hurt you and of course you don’t deserve it. This is an opportunity to grow in grace, focus on your faith and All the countless blessings you have been given. A time to turn away from the pain and embrace the joy in your life. As you focus on faith, have hope, you begin to see the WHY or the transformation within. At times the answers aren’t always easy to understand, or coming forward at the time that you want or expect. It’s because it’s a process. There is a time for everything. A PROFOUND Read is Ecclesiastes 3:1-8: For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven; A time to be born, and a time to die; A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; A time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; A time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together; A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to seek, and a time to lose; A time to keep, and a time to throw away; A time to tear, and a time to sew; A time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; A time for war, and a time for peace… Faith allows you to see and understand each season you go through. I challenge you to have faith, or stretch your faith and trust God and the process by taking a road less traveled, open your heart to a new experience and enjoy the unfolding as your life evolves into YOU becoming the best version of yourself. REMEMBER: FEAR is the opposite of FAITH How would you like to live...in Fear? or in peace by having FAITH? Have you ever thought how one personal decision made early on in life, would have the biggest impact later on in your professional life? Today’s guest, Jessica Hartwig, has a heart of gold and her genuine care for others shines through her “LIV IN VISION” business as a Holistic Concierge Life Coach. Listen to how Liv In vision serves others and how her “foster adopted” story began and changed her life forever! Adoption took on a whole new meaning for Jessica. What began as a decision, a well thought out process, research, communication and a decision to move forward with love, Jessica and her husband adopted through foster care, their daughter who they met when she was four days old, and brought home this six day old, precious 4 lbs 7 oz gift. When her daughter was nine years old and Jessica was complaining about something she had to do with her job, she said, “You know Mom, why don’t you work in adoptions and help other kids like you help me?” That was the seed that needed to be planted and her research turned into a new job at a nonprofit organization called The Adoption Exchange, which later became Raised the Future. Jessica’s love for helping others continued as a Holistic Concierge Life Coach and started a new life coaching business called “Liv In Vision” serving potential and current parents of biological, adoptive, foster, kinship children/youth and teens, as well as diverse adults. It is Jessica’s genuine care for others that shines through her personal and professional life. Just to name a few, her love for Mantras keep her going: “Focus on what you desire and not what you fear.” “When you marry intention with action, miracles happen.” Her very best friend said that the things she dabbles in are stones. They are stones that built you and grew you into this piece of beauty that you are. Do what is right for you to start your day. For Jessica is basically moving her body, putting incense in or essential oils in her diffuser, turning on a light she loves, making sure she eats the foods that are best for her body, using lotions she loves, writing and practicing her daily rituals. TAKEAWAYS: Focus on what you desire and not what you fear When you marry intention with action, miracles happen Have “Adventure Days” (get away from normal routines and all the digital stuff) You’re not given a dream that you can’t achieve.
