Today's guest went through such a different journey to parenthood and it's such a beautiful one. Sean and his partner both loved the way they were raised and wanted to emulate that. They are queer parents and are doing so many great things. We really hope this is an enlightening chat and shows some of the more positive sides of raising a family in an unconventional way.Follow Sean on Instagram @seanszepsJoin the community and go 'deeper' with Zoe by subscribing at apple.co/thedeep to gain access to exclusive bonus episodes, early access and ad free listening to regular episodes and extra juicy content from Zoe.Credits:Joanne Helder - ProducerCaleb Jacobs - MusicTash Todd-Williams, Word of Mouth Digital - Digital Strategic PartnerPlease DM us your thoughts and burning questions to @ariise___ and @whatsthedeeper or head to zoemarshall.com/thedeep.The Deep is a place for you. Grief And Intimacy

We deal with a lot of grief on the podcast and I think we have all been through it in some way. Today I really wanted to explore intimacy during, and after grief. It's not something that a lot of people talk about so I'm starting the conversation now. I'm navigating all of this with Rachel from LBDO. Today we speak to a gambling addict. Elliott was introduced to sports betting at an impressionable age and became a full blown addict for 10 years. As someone who doesn't fully understand the pull of gambling, I really wanted to know where the high comes from and what makes them keep going back. Elliott was really candid with me and shared things he's never spoken about before. Content warning: This episode discusses gambling addiction and suicide. Today I want to start a conversation about periods. I want there to be no shame, no self consciousness, just freedom. I want to know how we can honour our bleed and what it does for us, and undo the decades of negativity that we have been fed. Far out, Meshel Laurie is even more of a legend after this interview. I parent just like her....i didn't have a blind chicken, but I did have a lame duck. my child's father has been away for 5 yrs. its hard to watch your child deal with that... there is no way I could deal with having my crumbs (my mother) in my house. I cut her loose a long time ago... love true crime podcasts, Meshel is amazing!!!

Overall a lack of critical thought in the episodes and from the host. Unsubbed and gave up early on. Emotive in many cases, but not what I'm looking for at all. I prefer podcasts and hosts that engage critically with the world around them.

This is the episode that made me unsub. Host bought into him, and his predictions were obviously wrong (from a 2022 perspective). Along with "sugar feeds cancer" (sugar feeds all cells, and excess consumption predisposes people to many things; did you do any research?), I'm done. Some of the people interviewed were great, but it's not worth listening to the rest of it to get to it.

Incredible! So much tragedy and such an honest, gritty, real story of clawing it all back. Nix's willingness to own her shit, offer no excuses and expect no special treatment is amazing. Her honesty helps challenge stereotypes and prove the power of second chances. Wow!!

This is so, so awful. All this Mum has done is protect her children from further abuse. She should be applauded, protected, informed, supported every step of the way through this process. instead, every step of the way, she and her children have been further and more deeply traumatised, unprotected, totally unrepresented and unsupported, made to feel bad. You poor girl, all my love and heart go out to you Molly. You are a wonderful mother and you did absolutely the right things. I’m sorry everyone else has let you down. What happened to your kids and what has happened to you all since must change. Hopefully your story will help to make that happen.

I am an Australian and live in Austria where women have no problem with being naked. That includes all shapes, sizes and ages. The difference between Australian women and their own body image is like chalk and cheese. Truly liberating..

The only mystery is how some people can be so gullible. I mean I get that someone grieving can be more susceptible to these used car salesmen and they may even get some peace from having confirmation of what they want to believe...but c’mon. What was said re the host and her mother could be said to every other person in the exact same situation and have them confirm it like they’ve witnessed a miracle. As per usual nothing from this or the previous episode proved anything and only included the same vague ‘predictions’. The only specific prediction the charlatan made was Donald Trump blitzing the us election...how did that turn out? But of course there will be an alternate explanation for this.

first episode i didn't play to the end. What does this woman need, to become disabled, transgender unemployed and hated publicly and politically while her one eyed, bow legged half pitbill half ragdoll sheep/magpie is run over by her mother's uncle so she has a bigger agenda?
