Artists on the side

After a bunch of treading around, I landed upon DrawingForce.com run by Mike Mattesi, and his site was what I was looking for with great videos, mentorship, and also meeting fellow students. One student is Mickz Clouds that I hit it off immediately with as he seemed to be super motivated, a hard worker at his craft, and his art is fantastic as well.

It's always hard to remember every student you have in class, and some stand out more than others, one being Mikala. She was still so earnest, hard-working, and energetic about anything she worked on in class.

While surfing around on Twitter one day, I stumbled upon an illustrator's account named "@CaptainChants." As I went through CaptianChants (Chantal) feed, looking at her artwork and illustrations, I fell in love with all her whimsical characters, pins, sketches, and drawings. Not only did I enjoy her work, but her transparency and engagement on social media are excellent too.

Veronique Vanblaere is an artist from Birmingham, Alabama (and originally from Belgium). She had a gallery in The 'Ham for over 20 years and now travels all over drawing her work, doing commissions and enjoying a debt free life.
