I am late getting this month's podcast up here on my site. I would love to blame the Covid19 debacle, but honestly, I've just been a bit lazy (and focused on my art).

When I first started my journey into figure (and gesture) drawing, I was a little lost whether I should try this site, that site or hire a mentor. Or if that weren't enough, maybe I'd watch youtube videos all day long, sit on Instagram and be envious of artists that say "I did this sketch in 5 minutes, whaddya think!?" and it looks like the Mona Lisa where my stuff looks like a scribble by a handless child, if that.

After a bunch of treading around, I landed upon DrawingForce.com run by Mike Mattesi, and his site was what I was looking for with great videos, mentorship, and also meeting fellow students. One student is Mickz Clouds that I hit it off immediately with as he seemed to be super motivated, a hard worker at his craft, and his art is fantastic as well.

In the drawing force lessons, Mickz has always been a few levels above me since he started earlier. Watching his evolution as an artist has been fantastic, and I wanted to have a chance to interview him.

I got the pleasure of sitting down with Mike over the internet and ask him about his art practices, how he handles a job and draws, the imposter syndrome, and his goals in art. I enjoyed getting to talk with him, and I wished the audio matched the awesomeness of the internet; however, I'm still learning how to podcast. With that preface, I apologize for the spotty sound and cuts at times (like any new skill, it's a lot to learn, and you make mistakes along the way).
