This is a very special episode of "Break the Mould" where I speak with the well known communication expert, keynote speaker and magician Vinh Giang all about relationships and communication. He is an extremely proficient communicator and yet so down to earth and real. It was truly an honour to have this time to hear his pearls of wisdom. The discovery of his love of cooking was really delightful. Which just goes to show any direction in our life is possible, if you're passionate enough about it. As Vinh says, "Don't be so attached to who you are in the present, that you don't give the future version of you a chance."This can also apply to our relationships. Sometimes we may have put someone in a box and they may have changed without us realising it. So it's like giving them another chance.Watch this on YouTube:https://youtu.be/nOKNoJCPVrYVinh takes courses on how to have better conversations. He does them online and in person here in Australia. You can find him by going to vinhgiang.comor on Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/askvinh/ Go out and Break the MouldAnd if you would like to get in touch with me:Here is a link for my RESPECT relationship cooking program:https://awakeningswithanwyn.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Welcome-to-RECIPE-FOR-RESPECT-Program.pdf
Hayley has hosted DEAD AIR a weekly, live radio on Main FM since Nov 2021 and she has been Vice-President and co-hosted Death Cafés 2013-23; a committee member of the Natural Death Advocacy Network; a member of the Australian Home Funeral Alliance has been on the Castlemaine Cemetery Trust 2018-22; and is a supporter of the Melbourne Queer as Death Collective. These are all amazing credentials, but most of all she is a fabulous caring person and our discussion was so in depth that we couldn't stop talking. It ended up 90mins , but I couldn't cut any more out. This is really great information and I believe if you are experiencing grief, it's great to know your options. Even if you are planning ahead, which I thoroughly recommend after hearing some stories that can happen. I know this topic is tricky for some, but hey we all will go one day so why not know as much as possible to be prepared? Our topics are across Love, Death and Dying with all relationships that are important in life. I suppose I have had a good example with my parents who spoke freely about death and it is a natural conclusion to a life lived. To me it's about celebration and how we can honour those loved ones. Please enjoy.Find this episode on YouTube:https://youtu.be/YRKnRgHXRd0Hayley can be reached on : https://www.thedeparture.com.au/aboutAnd Anwyn can be on:https://awakeningswithanwyn.com
In this discussion with Nick Kemp he discusses Ikigai. Ikiru is to live and Gai is valueIt's essentially a Japanese word that means, A reason for being or what brings you a sense of fulfilment, joy and purpose in your life. It's a subtle difference to the popular version so widely used. Part of that is the Japanese culture and how it plays out in the individuals life. It's a fascinating conversation. He talks about Mieko Kamiya's seven Ikigai needs as well as the fact that Ikigai academics say that we can't have Ikigai without relationships, which totally makes sense to me. Ikigai is proactive and it's about being more present, which Is definitely something I want to strive for. That is why I took the communication course where we met and participated in together, which is Vinh Giang's Stage Academy Workshop. There are a couple of references to this. Also at the end, the movie we reference is the presidents speech that I read from "Independence Day" which I think was a really fun experience in Stage Academy and had to include it.Also our chat can be found on YouTube:https://youtu.be/6_gl6vER7wcYou can find Ikigai Tribe on YouTube:https://youtube.com/@ikigaitribe?si=Xj4wGSWxKRSgKb49And this is Nick's Website:https://ikigaitribe.comAwakenings with Anwyn's Website is:https://awakeningswithanwyn.com

In this episode I chat with Clare Wood, a money mentor about money and how that affects our relationship. It is probably one of the main reasons couples argue and possibly break up. We talk about the stories that can limit you. There is certainly stigma around making money and talking about money too. What are some of your limiting beliefs around money and those family stories that have held you back from making the money you deserve?

Fran is an emergence facilitator who practices Hakomi Somatic Psychotherapy
Did you know July is midlife sex month
It’s about having frank and fearless conversations about sex in midlife and we certainly did that.
It’s about the issues we face in midlife and our time of transformation. We talked about how we can transition in an easier way when we understand what is happening with ourselves emotionally, physically and spiritually. With the understanding that we all have a unique and individual journey with midlife as women.

Eliza is multi faceted in the area of Yoga and Mindfulness, which she has been doing for over 25 years. I have had the pleasure of being a part of the journey for a good half of that time and have grown as a result of her practice. She was a valuable resource during lockdowns in Covid. In this interview she shares her values and ways that Yoga and mindfulness has helped her in her relationship of nearly 40 years! I really like her metaphor of Meditation and Relationships - That if something is off kilter, bring it back, pause and bring it back on track.
She says Meditation is Life, we are living it right now.
Some questions she poses herself in relationships are:
What are we here for?
What are our values?
Why are we bothering to stay together?
What are we building here?
How are we growing?
What are we sharing?
These are very valuable and maybe you can think about these and ponder the answers that come up?
If what you hear today resonates please don't hesitate to reach out to me , maybe book a complementary session to gain some clarity about where you would like to be?

In this interview I talk to the beautiful Catherine Bowyer, a holistic coach and life strategist. Having spent over 35 years specialising in mindset and human behaviour, she is passionate about what she does. I thank her for her vulnerability and she was happy to discuss anything in an open and honest way.
We discuss her work and how she started in the corporate world until now, which involves skills to develop confidence, for her clients to reclaim their own power and celebrate their magnificence with an emphasis on happiness. Because let's face it we could all do with more of that.
We also discussed forgiveness, after which I have decided to run a Forgiveness webinar on International Women's Day 8-2-2024, for anyone who is interested.

In this podcast episode of "Break the Mould with Anwyn" I interview John Santangelo who runs the L.A NLP training school @LANLPseminars
His school is to empower people and promotes self esteem, according to John there is 6 pillars of Self esteem:
1. Live consciously
2. Accept yourself
3. Take responsibility
4. Assert who you are
5. Live purposefully
6. Maintain your integrity
I ask him some questions in regard to Relationships and responsibility. We talk about emotional regulation.
Also some questions sent in by my listeners, which you will find fascinating.
I would like to quote @Brene Brown from Rising strong,
"The trick to staying out of resentment is maintaining better boundaries, Blaming others less and holding myself more accountable for asking for what I need and want" Interestingly I found this quote after doing the podcast and found it to be synchronistic. It ties in with the responsibility topic. If we haven't filled our own cup, we can't help others.
John has created a special Webpage for all my listeners, where you can find some really great resources on Relationships:

How to set boundaries in our relationships and another level of communication. Some great core values that are important for Michelle parallel mine. I talk about my ADHD and the trauma associated with that and the way I overcame that which brought me on this journey of self discovery.

In this episode I have brought back Lynn Rane and we discuss the hot topic of Jealousy. So it doesn't matter what relationship you're in, this is something that will definitely be relevant to you. Navigating this and finding the value in all our emotions is so important for the development of our intimate relationships and friendships for that matter. I really like what Lynn says, that it's just different not better with someone else. This is what a level of emotional regulation can bring to your relationship, which is something I delve into with my relationship course I'm developing.
I hope you enjoy our candid conversation, because I feel that everyone is valid and I would like there to be no stigma around all sorts of relationships.

Maria Bololia identifies as a lesbian from Lesbos, Greece. She has been an activist in the LGBTQI+ community for many years being an advocate for diversity and inclusion informing people of their rights and fighting many causes.
One of which was the right for young people to earn a living under the age of 18yrs. She rallied for this taking young people to parliament in 1983 to speak to Bob Hawke and the National Press Club and won the right to earn a living. Because at the time she was homeless, under 18yrs and needed to survive.
Below is a piece she wrote in honour of all LGBTQI+ people who have suffered. At the moment she is writing her memoirs.
May We Never Forget
May we never forget the torture, torment, abuse, harassment, rape, death, incarceration, abuse to civil rights and all the injustices that the LGBTIQ+ community has been put through for simply being who we are and trying to lead happy, healthy lives.
May we never forget the leaders, the change makers, the activists who died for our community and made it that much better for us today.
May we never forget those who are still being treated as sinners, criminals and despicable human beings in the 76 countries and continents including: Africa, Afghanistan, Iran, India, Lebanon, Russia Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Syria, Jamaica, Papa New Guinea, Samoa, Tonga where being LGBTQ+ is still illegal. Countries where my community is still being tortured, stoned to death, raped, imprisoned and killed by the millions.
May we never forget that people are born LGBTIQ+. It is not a choice, a preference, a curiosity, defiance nor an anarchistic stand, abomination, a sin or a crime.
May we never forget that LGBTIQ+ people have the right to be happy, to feel safe in their work place, environment, community and that not any one person should feel like they have the right to determine, vote or dictate otherwise.
May we never forget that we are all, or should be, equals and not any one person is better by way of wealth, status, nationality, religion, colour, sex or gender identity. or should be any better or any more important than any other!!
May we never forget that it took until 1994 for homosexuality to be decriminalised in this country.
May we never forget that it took until 1997 for homosexuality to be decriminalised in Tasmania.
May we never forget that it took until 2017 for same sex couples to be given the right to adopt in this country.
May we never forget that it took until 2018 for same sex couples to be given the right to wed in this country.
May we never forget that we the LGTIQ community are faced with the struggle of having to explain, justify, prove and debate who or what we are every day of our lives.
May we never forget that we are what we are and that what we are needs no excuses.
May we never forget the next time you ask an LGBTIQ person when did you come out to your parents would you ever ask that of a heterosexual person?
May we never forget that LGBTIQ people come from all sorts of nationalities, hold all sorts of political and religious beliefs, professional and socio economic sectors and that more than 10% of the population make up the varied and diverse intersectionalities in or of the LGBTIQ community
May we never forget that love is love, and that kindness, and compassion should be what matter when all is said and done!!
If you’ve ever been silenced, felt powerless, insignificant, invisible, discredited, disrespected, told you’re being difficulty, quarrelsome, non compliant, anit-social, sacrilegious, harassed, bullied, manipulated, threatened or given ultimatums, and told that you’re not good enough then this is for you!!
You are enough!!
You were always enough!!
You will always be enough!!
Maria Bololia
