Description
Brews, Booze, & Reviews is a childish podcast about adult beverages. We are just your average joes who are just like your neighbors (the good ones), who like to drink alcoholic beverages of ALL kinds. Slightly educational and kinda amusing, we sample and review brews and booze for your edu-tainment.

Well folks, this is it. THE very last call of the podcast. In this episode we have Evan Christie from Brisgeview Liquors, Evan ???, Dan Berry from Covert Artisan Ales, John Jorgenson from Fargo Underground, Big Ern and Chris. We drink a lot of really expensive and hard to find whiskeys on this one, along with 2 brews from Covert.
May your glasses be forever full, and your spirits the highest they can go!
Cheers!

So what happens when our producer Nox tries to do more complicated things in the studio than he really knows how to do? You get THIS unreleased gem missing the first half hour of conversation recorded February 27th, 2022. Markus Krueger joins us in the studio to chat about what life was like during the prohibition era in Minnesota, and we sample some beverages that were available at that time with our other guests Don Kenna, John and Maren Jorgenson, homebrewer John Anderson with the Prairie Homebrewers Companion, and Jacob Klueber.
In this episode we sample and review:
- (not recorded) Corpse Reviver #1
- (not recorded until final thoughts on both drinks) Corpse Reviver #2
- Spiked Malt (made with Budweiser Zero and New Amsterdam vodka)
- Malt extract homebrewed Strawberry Lemonade Honey Wheat Kettle Sour by John Anderson
- Markus's homemade cider
- 4e Winery's Plum Wine
- Markus's Rhubarb Jack
- Minnesota 13 four grain whiskey

Hi neighbors! Nox here. As we're winding down, I decided to reach back in the vaults and re-release our 2nd episode recorded January 20th, 2019. I took this episode out because there was just a huge jump downwards in downloads from our first episode to our second, and I knew it was because it was a little sloppy, and the audio wasn't great at all. I didn't know how to properly sound-proof the studio, and Matty was learning which plug-ins to use to make us sound better. We had cheap condenser mics that picked up every noise around us as possible, and I still had concrete floors and walls down there. I did a little post on this episode so it should sound quite a lot better than when it was originally released. Enjoy!
Who's on this episode:
- Nox
- Big Ern
- EZ Chris
- Andrea A
- Travis G
- on the knobs and sliders: Matty B
- and introducing Izzy the dog
Which bourbons:
1) Four Roses Single Barrel
2) 1792 Bottled in Bond
3) Bulleit Frontier Whiskey
FAQ's answered for our listeners:
- What is bourbon?
- What does Single Barrel mean?
- What is Small Batch?
- What do they do with the one-use barrels when distilleries are done with them?

“A falling knife has no handle” is a saying that is well known here at Falling Knife Brewing in Minneapolis, where they are "willing to take a risk and get what we want.
