The Muchachos are back after taking some time off after a heartbreaking World Series Game 5 loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Since then some things have happened. Gerrit Cole who initially opetd out of the last 4 years and $144M Remaining on his contract decided to change his mind and stay with the team and work something out later. Gleyber Torres did not received the $21M qualifying offer from the Yankees. However Juan Soto did and remains the teams number 1 FA target of the Yankees this offseason rumors speculating 14 Years at $622M AAV of $44.4M per. The Yankees have also been linked to checking in on the availability of Former Mets 1B Pete Alonso. Gerrit Cole and the Yankees were on cruise control going into the 5th inning after a 2-Run blast by Aaron Judge & a solo shot from Jazz Chisholm Jr followed by an rbi double by Volpe and lastly a solo shot by Giancarlo Stanton in the 4th inning making it a 5-0 game. BUT because this is baseball and weird things happen in October the Dodgers would tie the game in the 5th inning after Judge fails to catch a fly ball, Volpe throws the ball in the dirt after trying to make a play at 3B, and Gerrit Cole not covering 1st on a ball hit deep in the hole at 1st base and expected Rizzo to make the play. Cole would then come back and shut it down in the 6th inning. Stanton gets the Yankees back on the board in the 6th with a Sac Fly. As Red Sox First Basemen Kevin Millar said to Derek Jeter and the Yankees in 2004 “Don’t let us win tonight!” that is exactly what has happened to the Yankees and they have new life! Yankees win game 4 of the 2024 World Series 11-4 over the Dodgers! Was not looking great at first after Yankees Nemesis Freddie Freeman deposited a 2-Run HR into the right field seats. Luis Gil would give the Yankees 4 innings of 2 run ball with 1 K and 2 walks. In the bottom of the 3rd inning Anthony Volpe sent a Grand Slam to the LF seats to give the Yankees a 5-2 lead followed by an Austin Wells solo shot in the 6th inning. Gleyber Torres would continue the ass kicking by slamming a 3-Run HR to right center field after an RBI single by Verdugo making it 10-4. Aaron Judge capped off the scoring with an RBI single in the 8th making it 11-4. The Yankees really find themselves with their backs against the walls being in a 3-0 deficit after the conclusion of Game 3. Walker Buehler would no-hit the Yankees through 4.2 IP, Freddie Freeman took Clarke Schmidt deep for another 2-Run Home Run, and then tacked on 2 more runs with RBIs by Mookie Betts and Kike Hernandez.
