Many people equate nice things (houses, cars, clothes, watches, handbags, etc.) with success. But materialism is really the antithesis of freedom.Because most people become slaves to their fancy-looking liabilities. There is a time and place for nice things (and I certainly enjoy them myself). But if you buy the nice things prematurely, then you'll be enslaved by them. You'll no longer be working for the joy of working or working for yourself.Congrats - you have a new boss: the massive liability you bought prematurely. You now work for the sports car/house/handbag/etc.This isn't freedom. This is slavery, especially if you don't like what you do for work.Don't be a slave to your materialistic desires. How to break free of such desires?I share how in today's episode of Building Freedom with Jordan Paris. This episode is sponsored by Riverside.fm - the leading tool for podcast and video recordings. Very enjoyable to listen to. Nice dialogue between the two of you. And the addition of audio clips to the episode was genius. Hope that continues.

The most important episode I’ve ever recorded. Conservatives, please heed Katarina’s warnings.

This episode is in my Top 5 favorites. Jordan has a great way of interviewing his guests! I discovered that Robert Greene has written great books on human nature, some of which I have put in my "to-read list". My key takeaways from this episode: ✅ Observe what people do not what they say ✅ There is a dark side to each of us, we need to acknowledge it ✅ Use your time to do something meaningful (learning or serving others) be aware of "dead time" (time that doesn't bring added value to you)
