In pure Ray fashion, he has decided to NOT choose a Halloween themed film for his episode of SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FILM. Instead, he has decided to take Rob back to the 1960s, with the war/spy thriller WHERE EAGLES DARE! Some might call this a Clint Eastwood film, but the day belongs to Richard Burton as Major John Smith, the leader of a group of highly trained British spies who are tasked to drop in behind Nazi lines to save Brigadier General George Carnaby, a chief planner for the Western front. But when members of the team start turning up dead, Major Smith and his American counterpart Morris Schaffer (Clint Eastwood) must power through to complete the mission and uncover a truth that shocks the viewer to their core! Anchored by an second half action sequence whose fingerprints can be seen on many a modern action film, WHERE EAGLES DARE marks a shift in the war genre as the studio system gave way to New Hollywood.  Will the diversion of the holiday theme throw Rob for a loop? Or will the twists and turns of this spy classic be enough to lure him in? Tune in this week to find out!   THEME SONG: Music and Lyrics: Jeremy Catarelli INTERMISSION: Music: Jay You Voice: Jeremy Catarelli
It's the spooky season here at SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FILM! To kick things off, Rob has decided to push Ray into an arena he's not entirely comfortable in with the 2019 horror, ghost story THE DEEPER YOU DIG! Written, directed and starring the horror genre sensations, The Adams Family (HELLBENDER, THE HATRED)!  THE DEEPER YOU DIG centers on Ivy and Echo (played by real life mother and daughter Toby Poser and Zelda Adams) who reside in rural upstate New York. Ivy is a tarot reader who has lost her sight and when Echo is tragically, and secretly, killed by their new neighbor, Kurt (John Adams), Ivy begins a quest to discover her daughter's fate as Echo takes revenge on the guilt-ridden mind of her killer. This low budget gem is a representation of the crafty storytelling genius of this resourceful family and a perfect entry point for Ray into the twisted world!  Will Ray's reticence towards the horror genre prevent him from appreciating the what the Adam's Family was able to accomplish? Or will their uncanny ability to craft atmosphere lure him into their mesmerizing spell? Tune in this week to find out! For Ray's September Episode of SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FILM, he's trying to break up his streak of heavy subject matters by recommending the 2017 comedy THE BIG SICK. It centers on Kumail, a struggling comedian who is caught in the maelstrom of the Pakistani tradition of arranged marriage by his overbearing family. When he meets Emily, an American woman, she steals his heart but puts him in a very precarious familial situation, one that threatens to end his relationship with Emily for good. When a mysterious illness puts Emily in a coma, Kumail must decide what is truly important to him and how he wants to ultimately live his life. With stellar supporing performances by Holly Hunter (RAISING ARIZONA, HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS), Ray Romano (EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND) and Zoe Kazan (RUBY SPARKS, WHAT IF) and based on the semi-autobiographical tale of actor/comedian Kumail Nanjiani and his real-life wife Emily, THE BIG SICK is a singular romantic comedy cut from its own cloth.  Will this ray of funny sunshine melt Rob's heart? Or will the chances it takes to subvert the rom-com structure leave him feeling blue? Tune in this week to find out!   THEME SONG: Music and Lyrics: Jeremy Catarelli INTERMISSION: Music: Jay You Voice: Jeremy Catarelli
Car RayRob is kicking off the month of September with a brand-new episode of SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FILM! It's Rob's pick and he's bringing another one of his personal favorites, the 1970 drama FIVE EASY PIECES! This true American classic stars a Jack Nicholson (CHINATOWN, THE SHINING) in the iconic role of Bobby Dupea, an oil worker with a privileged past that he must confront when he learns his father has suffered multiple strokes and his days are numbered. Accompanied on his journey by his eccentric girlfriend Rayette (played by the powerhouse of 70s cinema Karen Black), Bobby searches for who he is and what he truly wants from life. Born from one of the great New Hollywood production companies, BBS Productions, FIVE EASY PIECES is the great American film that embodies the changing landscape of counterculture America and the evolving face of the Hollywood industry.  Will Bobby Dupea's journey speak to Ray and let him see this classic for what it is? Or will the complexities and failures of these characters leave him searching for the next thing? Tune in this week to find out!  THEME SONG: Music and Lyrics: Jeremy Catarelli INTERMISSION: Music: Jay You Voice: Jeremy Catarelli
For Ray's September SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FILM selection, he has decided to do a sequel, not of a film he's already shown but of a conversation he and Rob began last month with THE LORD OF THE FLIES. To fulfill this, he has chosen the 2015 drama THE STANFORD PRISON EXPERIMENT. This tale of a real-life experiment conducted on the Standford University campus in 1971 centers on a group of students who agree to participate by being divided into prisoners and guards to see how each side would react. As with LORD OF THE FLIES, the darker sides of humanity bubble to the surface as the effects of power lead to torment for the unfortunate students relegated to be prisoners. Featuring stellar performances by Billy Crudup (WATCHMAN, BIG FISH, ALMOST FAMOUS), Tye Sharidan (MUD, READY PLAYER ONE), Ezra Miller (WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN, THE FLASH) and many others, THE STANFORD PRISON EXPERIMENT is a chilling study of people and the abuse of power that possibly lays dormant within us all.  Will the similar themes of Ray's previous recommendation once again leave Rob cold? Or will the stellar cast and true-life events draw him in an keep him prisoner? Tune in this week to find out!  THEME SONG: Music and Lyrics: Jeremy Catarelli INTERMISSION: Music: Jay You Voice: Jeremy Catarelli
Rob is kicking off August's SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FILM by recommending a film to Ray that holds a special place in his heart, the 1991 Coen Brothers classic BARTON FINK! Starring John Turturro (THE BIG LEBOWSKI, O' BROTHER WHERE ART THOU?) and John Goodman (RAISING ARIZONA, THE BIG LEBOWSKI), BARTON FINK centers on a rising star playwright of the same name as he takes a job in 1940s Hollywood to pen a wrestling picture for a mid-level studio. After relocating to a crumbling hotel with distracting neighbors and peeling wallpaper, Barton finds himself with a debilitating case of writer's block. As he tries desperately to overcome it, he encounters a cadre of zany characters that only seem to add to his predicament. BARTON FINK comes from the early period of the Coen's filmography (pre iconic films like FARGO and THE BIG LEBOWSKI), it is an often overlooked classic written by writers who either love writers or hates them! (You decide!)  Will the early style of Coen's not ring as true with Ray as their later more well known films? Or will Barton's journey of creative discovery lure Ray into it's hypnotic allure? Tune in this week to find out!  THEME SONG: Music and Lyrics: Jeremy Catarelli INTERMISSION: Music: Jay You Voice: Jeremy Catarelli
On this week's episode of SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FILM, Ray takes Rob back to high school by recommending the 1990s screen adaptation LORD OF THE FLIES! This film based on the 1954 book by Sir William Golding stars a young Balthazar Getty as Ralph, the natural leader of a band of military students who find themselves stranded on a remote island after a savage plane crash. With no hope in sight, the group take to setting up their society which quickly becomes treacherous as factions break off and tensions begin to rise. With supporting performances by Chris Furrh (EXILE, A FAMILY FOR JOE), Danuel Pipoly (THE TORKELSONS, THE GIANT OF THUNDER MOUNTAIN and a debut performance by JAMES BADGE DALE (THE DEPARTED, IRON MAN 3), this slice of classic literature dissects how long society can stand when all rules seem to fade away.  Will this trip down memory lane prove to be nostalgic for Rob? Or will his lukewarm feelings about the source material leave this film in the past? Tune in this week to find out!  THEME SONG: Music and Lyrics: Jeremy Catarelli INTERMISSION: Music: Jay You Voice: Jeremy Catarelli
It's time to say Happy Birthday to Rob here on SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FILM! To celebrate, he's taking part in his new annual tradition to commemorate the day of his birth, messing with Ray! Rob has chosen a very special film this month, not in the hopes of Ray hating it, but to push him to the boundaries of his film milieu. He has picked the David Cronenberg's 1983 body horror classic VIDEODROME!  In this subversive classic, James Woods plays Max Renn, the president of CIVIC-TV, a Canadian UHF television station known for pushing the boundaries of taste and civility. When Max is exposed to a new underground pirate broadcast centered on realistic torture and murder scenes with no discernable plot, he becomes enamored with who creates it, where it's made and how he can get his hands on it. As Max goes deeper and deeper down the Videodrome rabbit hole, he begins to notice changes in his perception that forces him to question his own reality and puts him on a collision course with a force beyond his understanding.  With stellar supporting performances by Debbie Harry (HAIRSPRAY, FOREVER, LULU) and Peter Dvorsky (THE DEAD ZONE, TWINS), Videodrome shows David Cronenberg at the height of prescience of world we may have unknowingly found ourselves living in.   Will the unbounded creativity of one of the masters of body horror prove too much for Ray? Or will the underlying warning force Ray to listen and not look away? Tune in this week to find out!  THEME SONG: Music and Lyrics: Jeremy Catarelli INTERMISSION: Music: Jay You Voice: Jeremy Catarelli
Happy Pride Month! On this week's SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FILM, Rob is celebrating the occasion by recommending to Ray the classic LGTBQ romantic comedy BUT I'M A CHEERLEADER! This heartfelt love story stars the always amazing Natasha Lyonne (POKER FACE, RUSSIAN DOLL) as Megan Bloomfield, a teenage cheerleader who is confronted by her friends and family due to what they believe to be "lesbian behavior". In response, her parents send Megan to True Directions, a conversion therapy center run by the Mary Brown, played by the tour de force, Cathy Moriarty (SOAPDISH, RAGING BULL). With supporting performances by Clea Duvall (GIRL, INTERRUPTED, THE HANDMAID'S TALE), Melanie Lynskey (YELLOWJACKETS, HEAVENLY CREATURES) and a rare non-drag performance by RuPaul (AJ AND THE QUEEN, RUPAUL'S DRAG RACE), This journey of self-discovery and acceptance is a heartfelt call to all who feel like they don't belong and all who need to know that there is more than one way to live! Will the initial mixed response to BUT I'M A CHEERLEADER prove true for Ray? Or will the cult following that has grown over the years lure Ray in? Tune in this week to find out!  THEME SONG: Music and Lyrics: Jeremy Catarelli INTERMISSION: Music: Jay You Voice: Jeremy Catarelli
It's Ray's turn this week on SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FILM and once again he's decided to bring the heavy! For his recommendation, he is going back to the 2006 Oscar winner for Best Foreign Language film, THE LIVES OF OTHERS! This Cold War period drama centers on Stasi Captain Gerd Wiesler played by Ulrich Muhe, who is assigned to surveil renowned playwright Georg Dreyman and his lover and prominent actress, Christa-Maria Sieland. As Wiesler grows more entangled in the lives of his targets, he begins to overlook the rebellious uprising unfolding before his very ears.  Will the heavy and political nature of this subject matter be enough to turn Rob off? Or will the lives of the characters draw him in? Tune in this week to find out!  THEME SONG: Music and Lyrics: Jeremy Catarelli INTERMISSION: Music: Jay You Voice: Jeremy Catarelli
We're kicking off May on SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FILM with a bang as Rob brings to the table Walter Hill's 1984 rock n' roll fable STREETS OF FIRE! This genre bending classic features Michael Pare (EDDIE AND THE CRUISERS, THE PHILIDELPHIA EXPERIMENT) as Tom Cody, an ex-military solider enlisted to track down his ex-girlfriend and local rock star Ellen Aim (played by DIANE LANE) after she's kidnapped by local biker gang, The Bombers. With stellar supporting performances by Willem Dafoe (POOR THINGS, NOSFERATU) and Rick Moranis (HONEY, I SHRUNK THE KIDS, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS) and a kicking soundtrack which launched the Dan Hartman hit "I CAN DREAM ABOUT YOU", Streets of Fire is a rollicking action flick that defies all categorization! Will the mix of genres in Streets of Fire prove too much for Ray? Or will the soundtrack lure him in like a siren on the sea? Tune in this week to find out!  THEME SONG: Music and Lyrics: Jeremy Catarelli INTERMISSION: Music: Jay You Voice: Jeremy Catarelli
To round out April, Ray decides to do something never before done on SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FILM, he is recommending a documentary! In the name of capitalizing on the recent March Madness tournament, Ray is recommending the 1994 HOOP DREAMS! This facsinating documentary looks at two rising freshman basketball players as they pursue their dream of one day joining the NBA. When both are accepted to a prestigious private high school, the sky appears to be the limit. However, unforseen circumstances force both Arthur and William onto diverging paths that threaten to derail their furture prospects. Dissecting racial, economic, and social strife, HOOP DREAMS looks at the roots of a dream and the adveristy each of us face in the pursuit of success.  Will Arthur and William's stories inspire Rob to love this movie? Tune in this week to find out!  THEME SONG: Music and Lyrics: Jeremy Catarelli INTERMISSION: Music: Jay You Voice: Jeremy Catarelli
On a new episode of SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FILM, Rob rings in Spring by recommending to Ray not only a movie he's never seen before, but a genre he's never heard of, the 1970 Giallo classic THE BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE! This crime thriller is the directorial debut of famed auteur Dario Argento (SUSPIRIA, DEEP RED) and a landmark film in the giallo genre. It stars Tony Musante (OZ, AS THE WORLD TURNS) as Sam, an American writer in Italy, who witnesses a brutal attempted murder. When the victim survives, and Sam becomes intertwined in investigation, he finds himself in the crosshairs of the killer still at large. Shot with all the trademark aspects that make the genre so "cool", THE BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE is an all-time favorite of Rob's and one he couldn't wait to share with Ray! Will the twists and turns leave Ray in the dust? Or will the "cool" be enough to seal the deal? Tune in this week to find out!  THEME SONG: Music and Lyrics: Jeremy Catarelli INTERMISSION: Music: Jay You Voice: Jeremy Catarelli

From KittyKaiju studios, we're proud to have on Mr KittyKaiju himself! For this momentous occasion, we have picked something very special. We are introducing Mr KittyKaiju to the Steven Spielberg classic, HOOK! This slice of nostalgia stars Robin Williams (AWAKENINGS, JACK), as Peter Banning, the grown-up version of Peter Pan, who now has a drab adult with kids of his own. When he returns to London to oversee a dedication for Wendy, who is now an elderly woman, his kids become the target of his old foe, Captain Hook! Peter must return to Neverland and remember the hero he once was to save not only his kids from the grip of the famed pirate, but to salvage his fledgling relationship with his family! It's springtime in the world and there's no better time for a road trip movie! Ray rises to occasion on this episode of SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FILM by recommending the 2019 dramedy buddy film THE PEANUT BUTTER FALCON! This heartwarming story centers on Zak (in a debut performance by Zack Gottsagen), an orphaned fellow with Downs Syndrome who finds himself trapped in an assisted living facility for the elderly. After a daring escape (aided by his roommate and living legend Bruce Dern), his path collides with another man on the run, Tyler, played by Shia LaBeouf (HOLES, TRANSFORMERS). This unlikely pair traverse the beaches and open roads of North Carolina's outer banks in the quest to fulfill Zak's lifelong dream of meeting his hero The Saltwater Redneck and becoming a professional wrestler. With a supporting performance by Dakota Johnson (50 SHADES OF GREY, MADAME WEB), THE PEANUT BUTTER FALCON explores what it means to be a family and lengths we'll go to find it.  Will Zak's journey to fulfill his dream capture Rob's heart? Or will the heartwarming nature of this story feel to saccharine for him? It's a brand-new month here at Car RayRob which means it's Rob's turn to kick things off! For his recommendation, Rob is going back to his recent misfire, ONE FROM THE HEART, where it came to his attention that Ray had a glaring hole in his film viewing resume, Ray has never seen a Humphrey Bogart film! To remedy this, Rob culled his brain from the endless choices of the best place to start with this film giant. CASABLANCA? AFRICAN QUEEN? THE BIG SLEEP? No, Rob decided to go a little outside of the box to recommend the 1950 Nicholas Ray film noir IN A LONELY PLACE!  This Bogart classic centers on Dix Steele, a formerly successful, short-tempered screenwriter who is caught between his principles and the dangling carrot of renewed success. As he weighs a possible new job opportunity, he finds himself in the crosshairs of the police for murder! His only alibi is Laural Grey (in a powerhouse performance by Gloria Grahame), a new neighbor who he immediately finds himself smitten with. As their relationship grows, so does the investigation, but with the pressure of the police breathing down his neck, can their budding love survive?  Will Ray's love of film noir and the magnetic chemistry of two leads find Ray smitten with this dark love story? Or will Dix's hair-trigger temper push him over the edge? Tune in this week to find out!    THEME SONG: Music & Lyrics: Jeremy Catarelli  INTERMISSION:  Music: Jay You Voice: Jeremy Catarelli
We're wrapping up our month of love here at SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FILM. To add to the festivities, Ray recommends to Rob the 2009 Argentine crime drama THE SECRET IN THEIR EYES! This Oscar winner for best foreign film stars Ricardo Darin and Soledad Villamil. The story revolves around judiciary agent Ben Esposito, who in his retirement has decided to write a novel centered on a case that has tormented him for decades. The research for his book brings him face to face with Irene (Soledad Villamil), his former superior who he has harbored feelings for ever since. Bouncing back and forth between the origin events and the present, THE SECRET IN THEIR EYES dissects the concept of revenge and how we use the past to frame our futures.  Will the confusing judicial system of the Argentine people prove hard for Rob to cling to? Or will the love story buried in this story of revenge win his heart? Tune in this week to find out!  THEME SONG: Music & Lyrics: Jeremy Catarelli  INTERMISSION:  Music: Jay You Voice: Jeremy Catarelli
Hello all you love birds in Car RayRob land! February is the month of Love here at SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FILM! To kick off the festivities, Rob has brought another one of his personal favorites with Francis Ford Coppola's take on the modern musical, ONE FROM THE HEART! Starring the late and great Teri Garr, Frederic Forrest, Raul Julia and Nastassja Kinski, this off-kilter musical centers on Frannie (Garr) and Hank (Forrest) on their ill-fated 5th anniversary. After a series of mixed signals and a love growing cold, Frannie and Hank break up with each head out for a night on the town with what they see as their ideal partner. Under the bright lights of Las Vegas, these jilted lovers must see if the grass is truly greener on the other side or if their love hides a diamond in the rough. Bolstered by supporting performances from Harry Dean Staton and Lainie Kazan and a dazzling score by Crystal Gayle and Tom Waits (making his SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FILM return!), Francis Ford Coppola pushes the boundaries of what a musical can be and adds an underappreciated gem into his audacious filmography.  Will the magnetic score and out of this world production design be enough to woo Ray's heart? Or will Hank and Frannie's failing relationship leave Ray feeling cold? Tune in to find out!   THEME SONG: Music & Lyrics: Jeremy Catarelli  INTERMISSION:  Music: Jay You Voice: Jeremy Catarelli
Rob started 2025 off with a bang this month on SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FILM. Now it's Ray's turn! He's back with his first recommendation of the season, and it's a call back to his first recommendation ever. This week he's bringing Taika Waititi's 2016 comedy HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE!  In this irreverent comedy, Julian Dennison (DEADPOOL 2) stars as Ricky Baker, a foster kid who has been shuffled from home to home and is seen as a bit of a troublemaker. When he's taken in by Bella and Hector (played by the great Sam Neill, making his Say Hello return), he may have finally found his place in the world. But when tragedy strikes, Ricky and Hector are forced to take to the bush in adventure to keep their newfound family together! Featuring stellar supporting performances by Rima Te Wiata and Rachel House (THOR RAGNAROK), this heartwarming comedy explores the true nature of family and the lengths you'll go to find it.  Will HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE hit Rob with the same force as WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS? Tune in this week to find out!  THEME SONG: Music & Lyrics: Jeremy Catarelli  INTERMISSION:  Music: Jay You Voice: Jeremy Catarelli
It's a new season at SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FILM, which means all new recommendations! To kick things off, Rob by recommending one of his favorite films of all time, the 1986 neo-beat noir DOWN BY LAW! This Jim Jarmusch classic stars John Laurie (STRANGER THAN PARADISE), Roberto Benigni (LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL, THE TIGER AND THE SNOW) and the titan that is Tom Waits (COFFEE AND CIGARETTES, THE IMAGINARIUM OF DR PARNASSUS).  This off-beat comedy centers on Zack, Jack and Bob. Three men who find themselves incarcerated through set ups and acts of self-defense. Eschewing the tropes of normal prison film, Jarmusch turns his microscope on only the interpersonal relationships of his leads by keeping his camera in their cell alone. As we witness the ups and downs of the psychology of jailed people, the friendships that can be found are anything but conventional. With special appearances by Ellen Barkin (THE BIG EASY, JOHNNY HANDSOME) and Benigni's real-life wife, Nicoletta Braschi (MYSTERY TRAIN, LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL), DOWN BY LAW proves to be a pillar of 80s independent filmmaking and a film that solidified Jarmusch in the pantheon of the era's directors.  Will the off-kilter humor and slow-paced camerawork imprison Ray in boredom? Or will the undeniable chemistry of cool in the trio of Waits, Laurie and Benigni free his mind? Tune in this week to find out!     THEME SONG: Music & Lyrics: Jeremy Catarelli  INTERMISSION:  Music: Jay You Voice: Jeremy Catarelli
