Trailer: My new re-branded podcast, Chase What You Love, is here!
Hey Hey! I'm back! It’s me Beth Gray Lease!
Welcome to my new, re-branded podcast called Chase What You Love!
As a podcaster and podcast manager, the road to where I am now hasn’t been clear cut or simple. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to figure out what the next best thing for me was. I’m the type of person who likes to try new things but also I’ve felt like I’ve been stuck because you’re not supposed to try new things, you’re supposed to stick to things you’re good at or just stick to one path.
And I used to feel bad about that. But, I realized that one, I’m not the only person who likes to try new things and then move on, and two, there’s really nothing wrong with that. And that’s kind of why I wanted to start this podcast, Chase What You Love. It’s all about Chasing what I’m loving right now. The things I love aren’t necessarily set in stone. My interests change from time to time! I get really into something, and then maybe I want switch it up a bit. And I like the variety in that.
I’m inviting you along for the ride.
My plan is to have different podcast seasons all featuring what I’m loving at that point in my life. I’m so excited that you’re here but I’m most excited about sharing that things that I’m loving with you and being able to connect about those things.
So, stay tuned, the first season of Chase What You Love is about to drop!

After I got divorced, I realized that I had no idea about what I wanted or needed. Literally, I couldn't make a decision. It was really hard for me! I was so used to going with the flow and not wanting to cause conflict, that I suppressed all of my wants and needs. For years! This week, I talk about what helped me start to trust myself and tune into what I needed after divorce.

I spent a lot of time pretending that I was happy in my marriage, but also, I didn't really consider getting a divorce until I was at my limit for putting up with things that I could no longer ignore. I share how I knew I was going to get a divorce in today's episode.
Divorce is hard. It really is. It's not an easy decision.

Have you heard this phrase or mantra? It's a huge reframe that made a big difference for me. It's a tough one to accept, but it does make a huge difference. Also, I talk about my favorite bird!
Hi friend! Today I share something that I have been thinking about lately. DIVORCE IS HARD. And it might seem like what you've been doing isn't that big of a deal, but it kind of is. You're amazing. You're doing it. You're not alone.

Shadow work explores the parts of ourselves that we normally keep hidden (suppressed or forgotten) from the world. When we work through our shadows, we finally process repressed emotions, release them, and accept ourselves unconditionally. Wow! Powerful stuff!

This week is an interview I did with my friend, Meg. She shares her story about what led her to file for a divorce. Even though she's still going through the process of divorce, her story is so relatable. Meg is so gracious to share all about her health journey, moving from her house, and how her relationship with her kids has changed. Thanks again for sharing, Meg! I'm really curious about what parts of her story you resonate with.

I realized that you might not know much about me, so I interviewed myself! Here's some info about me. I hope you like it!
I hope this doesn't read as a baby update (haha). There's no baby! But this is definitely a baby-sized episode. Tons of stuff going on this week with work and life, and so, there's not a ton here. Just know that I'm still around and I'll be back next week with a new episode!
This week I chat with Nat Smith, who is a creativity and connection coach, and we dive into the Enneagram! After I got my divorce, I realized that I didn't know much about who I was. The Enneagram was such a helpful tool in helping me to understand more about myself and why I do what I do. It gave me more of an empathetic look at who I am and a more empathetic understanding of others and their personalities. Nat explores each Enneagram number and lends so much info about how the Enneagram came to be and how we can use it in our lives!
Do you know your enneagram number?

What is dating as an adult? Why is it the worst? Ha! I've come to realize that dating is a necessary evil that comes with trying to meeting new people. But also, the apps. Why??????
Mindfulness! It's the best. I incorporate my mindfulness practice around making coffee in the morning. And the practice has changed my life! Do you practice mindfulness?
This week I talk about 6 things that predict divorce! This is all work done by the Gottmans. Do you know about Drs. John and Julie Gottman? They're the OG experts on marriage and predictors of divorce. They've studied couples for 40 years and have narrowed down things that make a marriage successful and things that contribute to the relationship's demise. Pretty cool stuff! In fact, Dr. John Gottman can predict divorce within the first few minutes of seeing a couple's interactions.
I want to learn about the mistakes I made in my past relationships, but I also want to improve so that I can be a better communicator and future partner!

Do you wonder sometimes about how you wound up in your situation? How you could have chosen your ex to be married to, to get divorced from, and are questioning things? I WAS TOO. I remember a therapy session where I was crying, wondering how stupid I could have been to have married my ex. To be fair, my ex was making my life difficult. But my therapist was compassionate and she helped me to reframe many of the thoughts I had about myself and my situation. And they kind of changed my life. This week, I look at a couple of statements and reframes for them.
Do you have a question that's lingering in your mind about your situation or your divorce? Send me a DM on IG @soIgotdivorced! I'll help you reframe it. (lol, Ice Ice Baby just went through my head "if you got a question, yo, I'll reframe it".
