Sunday November 9, 2025Big Church Gathering | The Essential BaptismDwight BernierMark 1:9-13The baptism of Jesus was essential and instrumental for His ministry. It was through this act that an important proclamation and power entered the scene. And because of Jesus, that same proclamation and power are available for us as well!
Move of God | WorshipSunday November 2, 2025 Tim HullEzra 3.1-13One of the main tasks carried out upon return was rebuilding the altar and the temple for the purpose of worship. After making some progress, many people shouted with joy, but others wept because the building was not like what it used to be. But worship isn’t only dependent on how God did things in the past but what He is doing now. It’s easy to desire things to go back to the way that they were, but God is always moving toward a picture of full redemption and restoration, which will look different than anything we have ever seen.
Move of God | FreedomSunday, Oct 26, 2025 Jordan WeeksEzra 2.1-70This is a passage filled with names and numbers, which shows us that God is interested in precisely knowing who and how many are present. Each one of these people have a story of freedom that they are experiencing. Most of them would have been born in exile, not having Jerusalem or Israel as their homeland. But God is committed to freeing His people and bringing them into His place and under His rule.
Move of God | RebuildingSunday, October 19, 2025Peter Smith Ezra 1:1-11After the Persians defeated the Babylonians, King Cyrus allowed and encouraged the people of God to return back to their homeland in order to rebuild their lives and the house of their God. He provided them with resources in order to accomplish this task. God used this leader to give all that was needed for the physical project to happen. This helps us see that what was torn down in the past does not mean that it can not be rebuilt in the future.
Body Image | Incarnation & ResurrectionSunday, October 12, 2025Jordan WeeksPhilippians 2.5-11; 1 Corinthians 15When Jesus came to minister, He came in a body. When Jesus rose from the grave, He did so in a physical body. Body, spirit and soul are all important. As we think about how Jesus lived in His body, empowered by the Spirit, we find out how God desires for us to use our body while we are here. And as we wonder about what eternal life will look like, we need not look further than the resurrected body of Jesus. We will be just like Him. The incarnation and resurrection of Jesus show us the value that God puts on our body.
Body Image | Created & DesignedSunday, September 28, 2025Geoff WrightGenesis 1, Psalm 139.13-16God has intentionally created and designed your body. The incredible thing is He made you in His image. Every person who has ever lived has been made in His image, which shows that each person has immense value. Because God has designed us, it is Him alone that gets to state how to use the gift of the body.
Sunday, September 21, 2025Jordan WeeksDeath, Clothing, and New HeartsGenesis 3; Ephesians 4.17-32Our bodies will all experience death. But before that we will go through periods where we want to cover up aspects of who we are. This happened after the first act of human rebellion against their Creator. They put on clothing to hide the shame from Him and one another. This has been our constant reflex ever since - to clothe ourselves in a way that we think will show who we are. But the Lord wants to clothe us with a new heart which will lead to change that He desires by His power.
Dissatisfaction (Body Series)Sunday, September 14, 2025Brian StegnerExodus 20:4, 17Though God made us excellently, we determined that we didn’t want to live under His design. We began dissatisfied with God’s design and have now turned to dissatisfaction with what we have become. At some level, every person struggles with dissatisfaction with their body. If it isn’t today, it will arrive at some point. We can believe that if we could just get what another person has in their body then we would finally experience satisfaction. But that isn’t the case.
Vision & ValuesSunday, September 7, 2025Jordan WeeksColossians 1:15-2:5This sermon covers the five values we claim as a church. We believe these values flow from Scripture and are all applicable callings to all those who claim Jesus as Saviour and Lord. Our desire is to see disciples grow in maturity and start gospel outposts all over the greater Montreal region.
Genuine Faith | PerseveringSunday, August 31, 2025Brian StegnerJude 17-25It is so easy to fall away. Jude encourages all followers to keep building ourselves in the faith, praying in the Spirit, keeping ourselves in the love of God, and waiting for the mercy of Jesus. This will lead to a faith that perseveres and proves to be genuine. The God who rescued us is able to keep us from stumbling and present us blameless.
Genuine Faith | ContendingSunday, August 24, 2025Tim HullJude 1-16We live in an evil world. People have wicked hearts. It has been this way since the beginning of the rebellion. We are in a real spiritual battle. But we are called to be those who contend for the faith. We do not need to cower or withdraw but are instead to move toward others with the confidence of what God has done. It is essential that we are contending for the faith both within and outside the people of God.
Genuine Faith | WaitingSunday, August 17, 2025 Peter SmithGenuine Faith | Waiting2 Peter 3:1-18The end of this era is coming. Peter is preparing the exiles to be ready for their King to come. We are waiting for His promise of new heaven and a new earth where righteousness dwells. Waiting is an active posture, whereby we want to help prepare others for the coming of Jesus as well. The Lord will ensure that His promises are fulfilled at just the right time.
Genuine Faith | FALSESunday, August 10, 2025 Jordan Weeks2 Peter 2:1-22There are many who will want to twist what is true about God into messages that benefit them. From the beginning, there have been those who came to confuse and distort. And many will follow these false words. Therefore, we need to be ready to combat the false message with what is true about God, His work, His people, and what we are called to do.
Sunday, July 27, 2025 Genuine Faith | TrueBrian Stegner2 Peter 1:16-21What we have in the Scriptures are the very words of God. This word has been confirmed over millennia by the people of God. It is so important that we understand what the word of God says so that we might know what is true.
Sunday, July 13, 2025Genuine Faith | Humility1 Peter 5:1-14There is no position in this world that should cause pride to rise up. Rather, as followers of Jesus we are to clothe ourselves with humility. This clothing defines us as we lead, follow, or find ourselves needing to resist the enemy. To those who humble themselves, God will strengthen and establish them.
Genuine Faith | Godly LivingSunday, July 20th, 2025Peter Smith2 Peter 1:1-15As we follow Jesus, the Spirit intends to make us look more like Him. There is a participation in godly living that we are invited into. The godly living keeps us from being ineffective and unfruitful. It is when we forget what has been done for us in Christ that we veer away from a life submitted to Him. It is important to regularly be reminded of how we should live so that we might be established in the truth.
Genuine Faith | SufferingSunday, June 29, 2025Tim Hull1 Peter 3:8-4:19Christ suffered on our behalf. As we live as followers of Him in this world, we too will experience suffering. Peter helps us see that we should not be surprised when we do suffer, but we can actually rejoice in that His glory is being revealed through what we are experiencing. Our suffering should not happen because of living in a foolish or sinful way. Rather, Peter is preparing us to be ready to suffer even when we are doing good for others.
Genuine Faith | MarriageSunday, June 22, 2025Jordan Weeks1 Peter 3:1-7Marriage is God’s idea. He directed it to be between a man and a woman, who are very different from one another. It is in this union where we learn mutual submission, honour, and beauty that is internal and eternal.
Genuine Faith | AuthoritySunday, June 15, 2025Brian Stegner 1 Peter 2:13-25First century Rome was not kind to Christians, yet Peter is writing that all followers are to be subject to certain human institutions for the sake of the Lord. We are free to submit in honour and love to those who are even unjust. It is how we honour authority that speaks to how we understand Jesus being Lord of all. And Jesus understood clearly what it meant to suffer unjustly, which ultimately was for our salvation.
Genuine Faith | His CommunitySunday, June 8, 2025Geoff Wright1 Peter 2:4-12The people of God exist because of Jesus and for Jesus. We are living stones in His building, of which He is the cornerstone. We are a royal priesthood that is meant to go and tell of the excellencies of Him who called us out of darkness. As His community, we build one another up as well as invite others who are not yet His people and have not yet tasted mercy.
