The pros and cons of buying now and paying later

If you have  checked out online recently, you might have noticed payment options like Afterpay, Klarna, Affirm or others. These platforms are options that provide consumers to buy now and pay through monthly installments, and they have experienced a popularity boom amidst rising inflection costs. Better rates and an ultimate deadline makes them more attractive than credit cards, but fees and lack of ability to protect your product can make the process more difficult. D2 discuss.

Brother of possible road rage victim shares information on active investigation

The family of the man who was shot and killed at Jordanelle State Park on Sept. 25 is pleading for help in finding his killer. Patrick Hayes, 61, was found near the entrance of Ross Creek Day Use area near Jordanelle Reservoir, and brother Mike Hayes joins D2 to share more information about Haye's life and memory. The investigation has led investigators to believe road rage might have been a factor in his death, based on cell phone and movement tracking. Mike Hayes and investigators ask the public to contact the police with any information pertaining to the capture of his brothers killer.

Ditch the dining room: Designing a home on a budget

As many as 90% of Utah renters cannot afford the state’s median home price of $549,100, a 25% increase since 2021, according to statistics presented by Moira Dillow, a housing, construction and real estate analyst at the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute. Designers and architects are exploring  various ways to cut the cost of a home, including simplifying blueprints, making windows smaller, and removing individual rooms in favor of combining rooms, such as the dining and living room. Dave and Debbie discuss what aspects of their homes they could live without in favor of a cheaper home, and take calls from listeners.

Can you retire comfortably on $1 million?

One in three Americans in the workforce say they need more than $1 million to retire comfortably, and some 19 percent report that they need $2 million or more, according to a recent Bankrate survey. Bankrate Senior Economic Analyst Mark Hamrick joins the show.  Dave breaks out the retirement calculator and sheds light on how much you'll need to save for retirement depending on your age.

A large part of the destructive force of Milton wasn't the hurricane, but actually the tornados... Matt Johnson, KSL TV meteorologist, talks with Dave and Debbie about the risks of tornadoes in Utah and what people can do to stay safe. Travis Bonino, owner of Salsa Leedos in Riverton, UT, calls the show as he drives to his property in Treasure Island, FL, and talks about the relief efforts his restaurant and community are organizing to help hurricane victims in Florida. Fans crowded downtown at the Delta Center for Utah's new NHL team's first home game versus The Chicago Blackhawks. Caitlyn Johnston, producer of The Dave and Dujanovic Show, lives near the stadium and talks with Dave and Debbie about the energy outside. Parents spotted their own kids in 7-Eleven robbery footage and then turned them in to police. The footage that was shared publicly shows a large group of juveniles as they roll up to the convenience store on bicycles and steal items, damage property and leave without paying. Just two weeks after Hurricane Helene hit southern states, Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall in less than 12 hours. Utah Hockey Club holds 10-hour party ahead of first game

Utah Hockey Club opens its inaugural season Tuesday night when the Chicago Blackhawks visit Delta Center. Starting at 2 p.m., the team will host a celebration outside the downtown arena that will include an ESPN broadcast, live interviews, giveaways, a free concert by recording artist Shaboozy, and a watch party for the 8 p.m. game. As fans begin to enter the arena, the plaza will turn into a free watch party. The team’s game will be shown on screens on 300 West at the corners of South Temple and 100 South. D2 speaks with Host of the KSL Sports Podcast, Utah Puck Report, Jay Stevens about the events throughout the day.
