Whilst you may be familiar with some of Rob’s journey you might be surprised by some of the truths and lessons he provides in this conversation with YouTube host and Podcaster Abdhul Zaman. Rob talks about his journey from 50k debt to a property millionaire and the things that helped him reach his goals. Rob also shares some of the difficult lessons and hard truths he has learnt in his almost 20 years as an entrepreneur and business owner. Rob REVEALS: How he built a 340-property portfolio over 18 years Why the education system is outdated The key to building long-term wealth The truth about money Why there’s no such thing as being self-made The importance of having a business partner or team to complement your weaknesses and amplify your strengths His thoughts on the current fascination with mental health His advice for new entrepreneurs BEST MOMENTS "Live within your means. Never spend more than you earn. If for 30 years you never spend more than you earn and you invest a difference you will become a millionaire even if you earn 30 grand a year." "Money runs nothing. Money is a universal exchange of value. What runs the world is powerful people." "No one is self-made and everyone needs a team." "You are not supposed to feel good all the time. If you were getting attacked, would feeling good be useful to you? No. The more of a threat you have from your environment, the worse you should feel. Cause it motivates you to do something." The only purpose for you, not for the banks, for you, for saving is to build up enough to invest. So it's like building a discipline and a habit. So as soon as you can get enough to put into an ISA or to put into silver or to put into gold or put in a real estate, you do it. So you get rich investing, not saving." I'd rather you just get the work done in the 40-hour week, but just be really productive." "The higher the monkey climbs a tree, the more you see of its backside." "We did a series of transactions in the three, four years after 2008, the each time step changed the size of our business. And we double down in that period of good fortune where all these opportunities were coming at us rather than taking our foot off the gas." "As we grew B&M, we decided that we were going to spend none of our turnover on advertising. We built a business from 20 shops to five billion of revenue with no advertising budget." "I personally negotiated something like 17 million square feet of UK retail selling space. 750 large stores at the risk of sounding immodest. No individuals ever done that in UK retail." "The entrepreneurs that really make a difference and create great organszations are the ones that optimise their success. That periods of good look, they double down, they take full advantage of it rather than thinking, well, this is fine." What's driving it is I think the world is in a really lost, confused place. I think humanity is at a crossroads in our evolution whereby if we're not careful we're going to die out very quickly." "Money is a tool, money has duality of purpose.” "I think that mainstream media became too powerful so there's a revolution against mainstream media, which is social media. So what people think it's going to do is make them feel about themselves the way they feel about other people and it does not do that.” “The unexamined life is truly not worth living and I really encourage people to come to understand their own motivations and quite frankly, to formulate a theory about how the world actually works.” “Once you understand that you can become anything you want, but not everything, how you spend your time becomes a spiritual consideration.” “Your life is an exact reflection of your choices” You're not born with a passion. So everything you want in your life is the other side of fear." "The money matrix is the hidden financial system. Where a few powerful people and banks control the money in the world." Rob is joined by Chris Voss, a former FBI hostage negotiator. Rob uncovers Voss's secrets to reading people, predicting behaviour, and navigating dangerous situations. From hostage crises to boardroom battles, Voss reveals how his techniques can revolutionise your business and personal relationships. Chris Voss REVEALS: Fear of loss is the biggest driver of decision-making, with about 70% accuracy in predicting behaviour changes. Empathy is the most effective and lasting way to influence someone, with tactical empathy being a key tool in negotiations. There are three types of negotiators globally: assertors, analysts, and accommodators, they are evenly split regardless of demographics. Voss advocates for using "no-oriented" questions instead of seeking "yes" answers to achieve more durable responses in negotiations. Labels (e.g., "It seems like...") and mirrors (repeating the last 1-3 words) are powerful tools for guiding conversations and gathering information. Most lying is defensive and about self-protection, with different types of negotiators having varying views on what constitutes a lie. To negotiate a pay raise, consistently demonstrate value beyond your cost to the employer and focus on future contributions. BEST MOMENTS "Empathy is really about understanding the other person's patterns first, which means just because you don't, wouldn't do it, doesn't mean you can't understand it." "You never give up and you can always get smarter. I'm willing to be smarter today than I was yesterday." "The power of respect for your adversary is kind of an irresistible power. And the other side violates it when you demonstrate respect first." "People react the same under all circumstances. They're driven by the same thing." "Behaviour prediction is easy. Like everybody, everybody's driven, driven by patterns." - Chris Voss "Human beings don't resent bad news. They resent getting caught off guard by bad." "Understand what it looks like to your employer. You want a raise, you got to be consistently more viable than what they're paying you." The functionality of https://soundbound.dev/ assuming it's a music-oriented service or app, across PC and Android platforms would probably hinge on its design and intended use.
Often, stories are repeated, but using https://kiddionsmodmenu.app/ provides an optimal solution by selecting an NPC as a character, enhancing the enjoyment of playing games.
So I listened to 15 minutes of this, Fox' flip flopping around arguing with himself was funny for a bit, but not enough to carry on. He thinks we should enforce our liberal democracy more harshly, but people who can't take other opinions are insecure. He loves to hear opposing opinions, but doesn't read the replies on social media. He'll say any old crap to appear "edgy". However, I liked the hosts gently challenging manner, so will definitely listen to some more from this podcast, just not Fox.

Great podcast, stimulating questions and inspiring answers. Your show notes don't give the link to Andrew's website that he mentions several times. But it's not easy to hear accurately. Can you add it to the show notes please? Well done Rob. A disrupter special.
Interview with a bum chum

happy belated birthday, loving this podcast.
Down to earth and inspiring.Great interviews and Rob isnt afraid to ask questions that I think most people would like to ask themselves. Rob encourages me to get out of my comfort zone and do the things I know I need to.
Its my first time listening to a pod cast and i went through the first 18 without even realizing it. full of details, knowledge and life lessons; some learnt and some yet to be learnt.
Great listening to Rob, starting to become my daily driving programme.
Very inspirational
brilliant guest and good flow. only one point, can we have more of the guest speaking rather than yourself? Although both experiences are brilliant yo hear, personally if it's 80% guest and 20% yourself O I think I would be more engaged. Regardless - thanks for putting out this great content. Love it.
